I don't really have a feather bed but it sounded cool. I'm thinking of taking my Diamonds are as Good as Glass poem and putting it with other poems along the same line and maybe a few short stories.

In this semiconscious state
I lie down on my feather bed
Behind my halfway closing eyes
Ideas and words run fluid.
Fluid like water in this state
My bed becomes a pool
Drowning in words
Dragged down my ideas
I fish for a line of connection
The silver thread shimmers
It glimmers
It winks
I heave myself up and I grasp it
With pencil and pen
And then again
I fall back down and I wait.
In this semiconscious state
Ideas whisper
Ideas wait
Drowning in words
Dragged down by ideas
All fluid
All shifting
My bed becomes a raft
