"Haley wake up. I want you to meet someone." I hear Peters voice and open my eyes. I slowly drag myself out of bed and get ready for the day.
"Hurry up!" He calls.
"Alright,alright!" I reply back.
As soon as I finish getting ready Peter pulls me by the arm and drags me outside to the camp.
"Who do you want me to meet?" I ask.
"Someone special." He told me," I want you to get to know him."
"But why?" I question.
"Because I told you too." He said sternly.
I roll my eyes following pans orders. I'd rather live then be killed. As I walk out of the tent I see the kid in a red plaid shirt and jeans. He looked to be about 11 years old. He turns around and looks at me. I flash a smile and he smiles back. I walk closer to him and sit on the log right next to him.
"Hi I'm Henry." He said all gloomy.
"I'm Haley." I noticed how sad he was.
"Why are you so down kid?"
"Because I don't want to be here. I don't belong here. My family is coming for me. I know it." He protests.
"I understand you kid I'd rather not be here either." I told him.
"Then come home with us. We'll take you home!"
"Henry I can't."
"What do you mean? You hate it here don't you?"
"I do. But I don't want to because I don't have a family."
"What do you mean? Everyone has family."
"But not everyone has a loving family like you."
"Oh." He said looking disappointed," I have an idea you can become part of my family."
"Thank you Henry but I don't think-"
"It would be perfect!! Once they come to find us we can go home."
Home. When he said it, it felt like a safe place. Not a place where you get hurt. For once in my life when I heard that word I smiled because maybe I finally found a place. Maybe I finally found my family. Maybe I finally found my home.
After all the boys went into their tents it was just Peter and I.
"Soo what do you think about our new lost boy?" He asks.
"He's really nice. I like him. We understand each other." I told him.
For someone to understand me means a lot to me. No one in my hometown understand me. Not even the friends I did have which was only 1 person. My parents obviously didn't understand me. Not even Peter could understand me.
"Good." He said," I'm going to sleep."
"I just need to get a drink of water." I told him.
I walk out to the camp site and walk towards the refreshing water. When I heard back I turn around.
"Hello?" I ask," is anyone there?" No answer I swear I feel like someone is behind me.
Crack. I turn around swiftly and theres no one there.
"Hello?" I ask again walking faster towards Peters tent.
"GET HER!!" I hear someone yell.
Someone tackles me and covers my mouth so I don't scream. All of a sudden I hear my name called by Peters voice. Then I black out.
