HAYLEE'S P.O.V
I hear the door slam and I look up at Cody who doesn't seem fazed by the sound so I just shrug and put some food in my bag for the day.
"So how do you know that kid?" I look at him and he staring at me, I couldn't help but blush.
"Uh, well him and another guy are kinda fighting for my love and well it's a long story" I fidget with my hands and he raises an eyebrow at me "I got time tell me" i sigh and explain the whole situation to him and he laughs, hard.
"Cody it's not funny! I even have a whiteboard counting points!" I yell at him and he's still laughing and I can't help but smile.
"I saw that actually, who's the 3rd person on the board tho?" He steps towards me and I look down.
"No one yet, keeping my options open" I feel his finger tilt my chin up towards his face.
"How about me? I love a good game" He whispers and I shiver and nod slowly, why not?
He grins at me and picks up my bag walking towards the door and opening it for me, I walk towards him and smile grabbing my bag from his grip.
"I'll pick you up from school today, okay?" He smiles at me, I nod and I get up on my tippy toes and kiss his cheek and I instantly blush, I didn't realise what I did until my feet where flat again but grins at me.
I can see Grayson tense up but I don't care, he walked out on me, again.
"Bye Cody" I wave and turn around, I feel Grayson's hand on my lower back guiding me away.
GRAYSON'S P.O.V
As soon as I saw Cody at that door with Haylee something inside me snapped and I couldn't help but get angry.
He wasn't her type at all and I was determined to know why he was there at that time in the morning.
I watched the door be opened again only to see Cody and Haylee exchanging goodbyes, mumbling something about picking her up from school. Then she got on her tippy toes and kissed his cheek, I felt something run through my body, jealousy? No no way.
She walks towards me and I put my hand protectively on her lower back, looking back to Cody, he is leaning against the door frame with a smoke in hand and a raised eyebrow in my direction.
I turn around and I can feel the heat rising on my neck. I get to the car open the passenger door for Haylee, I slam it closed and jog around to the driver's side and hop in.
We drove in silence for awhile until I spoke "Who is Cody?" I grumble and she laughs lightly but I know its sarcastic, I can basically hear it dripping out of her mouth.
"Why should it matter to you? You walked out that night and didn't come back, no calls or texts, hell not even a note and you want to know my private life? Big no no Grayson, it doesn't work like that, do not pass go do not collect my heart, get out of my head" I just pulled up the hand brake and she grabs her bag roughly looking me straight in the eyes "Grow up Gray I'm sick of these games, if you care about me act like it, don't be such a child" and with that she slams the door shut and I sigh.
HAYLEE'S P.O.V
Tears stung my eyes as I stomped angrily away from the car and into the school building, I check my schedule, Double English today, great.
I go up the back of the class room and sit at my usual desk, I pull out my books since it's revision week every one is just working on stuff they missed or they are revising the work.
I get out my earphones and start to work through some work sheets, Grayson hovers near my desk but I don't budge, he groans loudly but moved away soon enough. I don't want to speak to him right now, he probably wants to apologize but how do I know if he even means it anymore.
I see the flash on my phone go off and grabbing it of the desk and pressing the home button I see the notification for a text message.
Text Message received at 9:04am
Cody T ✌: Okay so I have a problem.
Me: Yes?
Cody T ✌: I'm bored.
Me: Entertain yo self Boi.
Cody T ✌: THERES NOTHING HERE, IM SICK OF STARING AT THE INFOMERCIALS ON THE TV!
Me: Oh my god Cody! I left a list on the table of the wifi password and you can watch Netflix in my room you dork!
I can't help but laugh as I see the chat bubble pop up and then disappear for awhile, so I text again.
Me: Feel stupid now?
Cody T ✌: Shut up.
Cody T ✌: But thankyou.
Me: Your welcome.
Cody T ✌: When do I need to pick you up?
Me: 1:30 today, you don't have to tho..
Cody T ✌: See you then, princess.
I blush slightly, what am I doing its Cody for Christ sakes!
I lock my phone but not before changing the song, this is going to be a long day.
It's about an hour until the school finishes for the day and everyone in my science class is just out side, the teacher took us out here to study the leaves and what not but everyone got bored and stopped paying attention, the teacher gave up and just let us do our own think for the next hour.
The end of school bell rings and kids start rushing out, I pack my bag up with all my books in hand trying to shove them back into it. When I hear Cody's motorbike engine roar in through the gates, I put my bag on my back and walk towards him, I look around and girls are staring at him. I can see the drool basically come out of there mouth.
Cody doesn't seem to notice his eyes are locked on mine as he leans against his bike stomping out the cigarette that was in his mouth. He pulls me in for a hug "Hey" He grins at me and I smile.
He hands me my helmet and I thank him, he jumps back in the bike and kicks up the stand.
"HAYLEE!" I hear Grayson yell and I turn around "What do you want Grayson?" I huff and look at him, my helmet still in my hands.
"There is no way you are getting on that bike, I'll drive you home" he grabs my wrist and starts to pull me away, a crowd has gathered around a us now and I wince at the pain.
"Let me go Gray" I yank my hands back but that only makes him grip harder, I look frantically back to Cody who is already kicking down the stand of his bike, ripping his helmet off and roughly tossing it onto the bike handle as he makes his way towards us.
Cody grabs Grayson's hands and rips his hands off my wrists and I get behind Cody "Touch her again and I'll break your face" he growls out and I feel scared "Cody I'm fine, please can we go" I stutter and put my hand on his bicep.
I feel his body relax under my touch and he nods we start to walk away until I hear Grayson speak up.
"She was mine first and I'll be her last mate, just you wait" oh no.
Cody turns on his heal and walks back to him.
Before cody can open his mouth Grayson had thrown the first punch and it hits him square in the jaw, I immediately run between them and see Cody's eyes darken "Cody don't do this please, come on let's go" I place my hands on his chest and stand on my tippy toes to meet his gaze.
"What are you scared? Going to let a girl be the boss of you?" Grayson taunts, shut up you idiot do you want to get killed.
Cody's eyes snap up from mine, simply picking me up and moving me out of the way he punches Grayson in the nose, I watch as Grayson punches back, the sound of crunching bones and heavy breathing was all that was heard, especially the small chants of students saying fight.
At this point Grayson has a bleeding nose and a cut on his cheek, with bruises forming everywhere. Cody has a busted lip and eybrow with a dark bruise forming on his jaw line.
The principal bursts out from the doors and breaks the fight up, taking Grayson back into the school and telling Cody to never come back.
I look at Cody with tears in my eyes as I look at his face, his eyes meet mine and his face softens, "I'm sorry you had to see that" he opens his arms for me and I hug him "let's go home yeah?" He mumbles in my hair, I nod and we walk to the bike.
I slip on my helmet and straddle the bike sliding down until my body is against Cody's, wrapping my arms around his torso I feel him flinch alittle and then relax.
