Prompt: Jade needed a tutor so she could learn how to speak Filipino. Perrie happened to know how so she ended up being Jade's tutor.

Somebody actually requested this to me way waaaay back. My messages here is really cramped so I can't find whom :(( To whoever you are, this one's for you!

Shoutout to all my Filmixers out there!

-

"Leigh! C'mon, please help me?" Jade pleaded her afro-haired friend as they walked along the hallway and made their way over to their lockers. The older girl placed her books inside and quickly locks it. As she looked at her side, she knew that her friend would still be there, holding her puppy eyes until she could get her approval.

"Jade, I told you many times, I don't have time to look for a tutor with you. I have to catch a movie with Andre tonight, I told you that, remember?"

Jade pouted. "Yeah, but I really need someone to tutor me." She said, shoulders slumping as she opened her own locker to put her books in and to get her Minnie Mouse laptop. She stuffed it into her bag then looked at her friend.

"What do you need a tutor for, anyway?" Leigh asked out of curiosity as they left the school's main building and made their way towards the parking lot. "I mean, you're the most intelligent person I know! You don't need someone to tutor you."

They sat on one of the benches and waited for the school bus to arrive. Both of them decided to take the bus today since the both of them wanted to get home early and finish the things that had to be done so they have the weekend off.

"I need someone to teach me how to speak Filipino. It's our topic for this semester, remember?" Jade said, crossing her arms over her chest and glaring at her friend for forgetting their homework.

Actually, Jade already planned their weekend. She and Leigh would take language lessons at noon and the brunette would spend the rest of her nights finishing up her essay.

The afro-haired girl laughed. "Mister Cowell was joking that time! You're the only one who took him seriously." And she continued to laugh. She's used to Jade being geeky and stuff but she still finds it funny whenever Jade frustrates herself with something academically related.

I guess you could call the brunette grade-conscious.

"He isn't, Leigh! He even talked to me about it after class." The brunette reasoned as the bus arrived. "He told me to make an essay about the Philippines but it should be in their language, which is very odd, I might add. Bu then again, its Mr. Cowell, you know how weird he is! So now my problem is how on earth would I know their language without having someone to teach me, right?"

"Why don't you look for a tutor online? I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Filipinos here, you might find someone there who could teach you." Leigh suggested. And the brunette's smile appeared because of that. She hasn't thought of that to be honest.

So that's what she did once she got home. She opened her laptop and searched for Filipino tutors online. She has seen so many choices but she focused more on the person who has good reviews. A blonde with piercing blue eyes caught her attention. She clicked the icon to reveal some information about the blonde.

"Perrie Edwards, aye?" A voice startled her and she immediately closed her laptop, only to give her brother a glare.

"What're you doin' here, Karl?"

"Oh you know, watching my little sister stalk someone." He smirked and Jade blushed. "I know you're gay but I didn't know that you're into blondies."

"Oh shut up you," Jade rolled her eyes at him and opened the device again, not minding her brother who kept on teasing her. "And besides, I'm not a stalker. I'm actually looking for a tutor."

"For what?" The older guy asked surprisingly. He knows for a fact that his sister was used to learning things on her own. "You're intelligent enough to study and understand things on your own. How come you need a tutor?"

Jade shrugged. "It's for an essay. I need to learn how to speak Filipino."

"Filipino? Why that language?"

"I don't know but Mister Cowell asked me to do it," Jade said, unaware of the smirk that appeared on her brother's face again. "It's strange you know, out of all the languages in the world, he chose that one. But I ain't complaining since I've heard that Filipinos are really nice people. I think I'd like to visit their country someday."

"I bet you will," Karl said with a smile, patting her sister's head and messing her hair, which earned him a playful smack from the brunette. "You should consider picking that blondie you were drooling over earlier. She had good reviews and she seemed nice." He said before leaving the brunette alone.

And she did what just he told her. Jade took her phone out and started to call the number posted on her screen.

-

The school bell rang and Jade was the very first student out the door. She couldn't wait to get home since her Filipino lessons start today with Perrie. They had never met before but they had started texting each other during the weekend, which got the brunette all giddy and energetic today.

They slightly got to know each other in a short span of time and that sort of made a bond between them. Jade had known that Perrie was also from Shields and that they both love to sing. The brunette also had mentioned to the blonde her great love for Disney and she was glad she did because Perrie was also a massive Disney fan.

"So, you're meeting your tutor today, aye?" Jade nodded eagerly. To say she was excited would be an understatement. "Well, you seem so ecstatic to meet her. Is she cute?"

Leigh-Anne and Karl were the first and only ones to know about Jade's sexuality. Of course, Jade is open to the both of them since they are the only ones she's close to. She isn't that comfortable opening this up to other people since she's very shy. Her parents knew but sadly, they died after a few months in a tragic accident.

"I only have seen one picture of her and that's it. So I'm actually excited to see her in person." Jade said, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"Well, good luck with that Poopey!" The afro-haired girl said, patting her friend's shoulder before Jade got in on the bus.

On her way home, she couldn't help but think of the things she would learn today. As much as possible, she wanted to learn as many words that she thinks would fit her essay. Although, she still doesn't know what could her subject be in that essay. Well, maybe Perrie could help her with it later.

As soon as the bus stopped, Jade ran inside her house to change. She's glad her brother had to go to work today and will come back just in time for supper. That means she has the house all to herself. Also, it means that....she and Perrie has the house all by themselves for a few hours.

An hour passed and the brunette heard the doorbell ring, meaning someone was at the door. It was no question as to who could the person be since there was only reason why she'd get a visitor during that time of the day. Jade glanced at herself in the mirror for the last time, making sure she looks presentable, before making her way towards the door.

Blue. The first thing that caught Jade's attention were her piercing blue eyes. The brunette couldn't help but compare it color to the blue sky. And there was something about them that she can't help not to look away.

"Hi," She was brought back to reality when she heard the blonde's angelic voice. Just one word with only two letters was all it took for Jade to completely lose her mind. She doesn't know why but she loved the blonde's voice. "May I come in?"

And Jade mentally facepalmed herself as she realized how long had she been staring at the blonde. And she feels embarrassed by it.

"I-I'm sorry," She opened the door further and to let her visitor inside. "I-I'm just, you know---ugh, well y-you loo—" And she was cut off when she heard the blonde laugh. They haven't even started and Jade's tongue seemed to be already in a twist.

"You're much more cuter in person, you know?" Perrie said once she has calmed down from laughing. There was something about the brunette that made her feel at ease, like they were more than tutor and student.

"Don't worry, I understand that you're nervous. Well, you don't have to be. So, shall we start?" Jade nodded and they made their way over to the living room. She took all the things she needed and then sat on the couch opposite to where the blonde sat.

"What would you like to know first?" The blonde asked.

"Maybe, you could teach me about the simple words, first? Or maybe tell me something about the Philippines."

"Well, the Philippines is located in Southeast Asia and is known for its delicious delicacies and the Filipino's hospitality." Perrie started, "There are also places there that tourists tend to visit the most. Bow-rah-cay (Boracay), I think, is the name of one of the beaches there. They have plenty of beaches there but what makes Boracay their most famous tourist spot is its unique white sand. It's a peaceful and serene place. Also, their seafood is to die for!"

Jade nodded, already amazed about the things she heard about the country.

"You mentioned something about their hospitality, what about it?"

"Filipinos are known for being friendly and hospitable. It's like, when you go there, they make you feel like you belong. They'll entertain you in any way they could and I think its one of the things I love about the Philippines." The blonde said, smiling at the brunette.

And they went on and on about the said country. The blonde told her about all the things she knew about the Philippines and the Filipinos. And the longer they talk about it, the more that Jade wanted to visit the country. Hearing those stories from the blonde made her want to join Perrie on her next trip back to the country.

Jade had also learned that Perrie was born in Shields but she grew up in the Philippines because her Mum brought her there, due to his step father's condition. That's the reason why she knows how to speak Tagalog (Filipino language).

They proceeded to get to know the language. Perrie had mentioned that it's kind of hard to learn the language at first since its different from the brunette's mother tongue but she knows the brunette could easily catch up. She also promised the brunette that she would do her best to make things easier so they'd be done just before the deadline of Jade's essay.

"They say "Mabuhay!" when you visit them there and it means "Welcome!", they say "Salamat" which means "thank you" and "Patawad" when you want to say "sorry". Why don't you try and say those words first." Perrie said as Jade wrote all the words the blonde just mentioned.

"Mabowhay?"

Perrie smiled. "Its Ma-bu-hay, go ahead, try it again."

"Ma-buhay?" And the blonde clapped her hands, making the brunette giggle. "Is it right?" Perrie nodded. "Oh! Oh! Oh! Tell me more!"

"How about you try "salamat"?"

"Sa-lahmat?"

"Try again."

"Salamat."

"There you go!" And then the both of them clapped their hands for Jade's small achievement. Both Geordies were acting like three-year-olds who just got a star from their teacher that day but none of them couldn't careless.

Perrie continued to teach her more words and Jade easily pronounced all of them in the right way. No surprises there.

What's her secret? Well, maybe because she had a great teacher.

-

Two weeks had passed and you can tell that Jade already knows so many Tagalog words. Every day, Perrie would teach her ten to twenty words and she would memorize them all overnight. If the blonde was honest, even if she herself was raised in the Philippines and used to the native language there, she wouldn't be surprised if the brunette would be better than her in speaking the language.

Perrie admits to herself that in that short span of time being with Jade, she already...fell in love with her. She knows its too soon but...how could she not? With those caramel brown orbs and addicting smile, how could she not catch feelings? Apart from her looks, she has this great personality that made her feelings grow stronger. Jade also made her realize some things as they spent more time with each other.

"Hey, Pez?" Perrie looked up from her computer screen to look at the brunette. They had been doing their homework for today since their session ended just an hour ago. "How many boyfriends have you had?"

Perrie furrowed her eyebrows. The question really took her by surprise. "Why'd ya ask?"

"I'm just curious s'all." Jade shrugged.

The blonde sighed and placed the laptop down on the floor to face the brunette. "What's got you curious, aye?" She smirked and a blush appeared on Jade's cheeks instantly.

"I-I just...well, I-I want to—" And like the usual, Jade was cut off because of the blonde's laughter. They had shared plenty of moments like this before and Perrie still finds Jade cute whenever she stutters.

"To be honest," Perrie started after she had calmed down. "I've only had one boyfriend. Like for real."

"How come?"

"Well, when I was with Alex, I was the happiest girl in the world. We'd go on these super fun dates and he'd give me these expensive gifts. We had shared a lot of memories together. But despite of that, I've come to a realization that he isn't the one because I don't feel the same about him anymore." Perrie said and ran a hand through her hair. "Then after Alex and I broke up, I met this girl. Her name's Jesy. She was a transferee back in our school and for an unknown reason, I felt attracted to her. And I didn't know what happened but the next thing I know, she already asked me to be her girlfriend."

"So you're...gay?"

Perrie nodded proudly. She doesn't deny that fact that she is because she doesn't want to lie to people about her sexuality, especially to Jade. She wants to be open to Jade as much as possible so she could get Jade to open up to her as well.

"Yes, I am gay. And I'm single." And she shot a wink at the brunette's direction, making Jade's cheeks once again be as red as a tomato.

"What happened to you and Jesy?"

"Turns out that she did all that just to win a bet. Can you believe it? That someone would actually pretend to be in a relationship with you for money?" She said and let out a small chuckle. What happened might have hurt the blonde, Jade can tell, but she acted like it was okay. "To make the story short, our relationship wasn't real. It lasted for only six months before I learned the truth. It hurts at first of course but I realized that what she did made me who I am today. And thanks to her, I realized that I was gay."

Jade looked down. She wished she could be like Perrie sometimes. Be a happy-go-lucky person and be confident enough to tell people about her sexuality, about her true self. She admires the blonde's attitude and how she sees things. Jade wished she could be like Perrie someday.

But Jade knew what she wanted to happen more than that. What she truly wanted is to be with Perrie. To be able to call the blonde hers has been Jade's secret dream ever since she developed these feelings towards Perrie. And as she learned more about the blonde and her past, Jade couldn't help but be attached to her. But the brunette knows that what she had been dreaming about wouldn't happen.

Perrie already told her about her plans on coming back to the Philippines after college. She said that there was something about the country that calls her, telling her to return. And she was persistent on listening to that voice. So Jade knows that even if there's a teeny tiny possibility of her dream becoming true, it won't work. Long distance relationships are the hardest and Jade knows she and Perrie wouldn't make it if she ever admits her feelings.

So Jade decides to do another things that she's good at; keeping secrets.

-

"So, this is our last day," Jade said, sadness visible in her voice. She hates this. She doesn't want their sessions to end. She doesn't want to stop learning more about the Philippines. No, scratch that, she doesn't want to end seeing Perrie every day.

Although she made it pretty clear that she'd keep her feelings towards the blonde to herself, she can't help but think about the what if's; what if she told the blonde how she feels and she stays? What if the blonde felt the same way and decided to not pursue her calling? What if Perrie loves her back?

"I'm going to miss you."

Jade pouted and Perrie awed. She didn't want to see the brunette this way. But as much as she wants to stay, she couldn't neglect what her heart wants.

The short time she spent with the brunette was enough reason for her to stay.

She admits to herself that she in fact has feelings for Jade. She was just to shy to admit it, afraid of rejection. Also because she knows that even if the brunette returns her feelings, she won't be able to stay with her. The Philippines held a big part to her life, and returning to the country would feel like it was the missing puzzle piece she's been looking for ever since her departure. But then again, so was Jade.

If there was only a way for them to be together and also be in the place where Perrie's heart wanted to be the most.

"I'm going to miss you too," She replied, a small smile on her lips.

"Will you come back?"

"Of course," she admits. "I now have a reason to."

Those exact words were the reason why Jade finally had the courage to confess her feelings to Perrie. She knows its a long shot but she doesn't care. She has hope that she could make the blonde stay by telling her how she feels. Maybe it can be another reason for her stay.

"Perrie," she started, eyes focused on the blonde's ocean blue ones. "...I like you."

The blonde didn't reply, she did her best not to. She knows that she's going to hurt the brunette more if she chose to say it back and still leave her. She can't do that to the brunette, she loved her too much to leave her hopelessly hanging onto a relationship that she knows has no chance of working.

So she did the last thing she wanted to do; she left.

-

The blonde dreaded her decision of leaving the only person she's loved so much until the day that she's about to fly back to the Philippines. She sighed. The decision she's made was rash, but she knows its for the best.

She hasn't heard from the brunette ever since that day. She wonders how she's doing, how well she did on her essay. She wonders how the brunette feels about her ever since she left just after pouring her heart out to the blonde.

Perrie made the decision to leave, but there's a part of her that regrets it. She regrets not saying it back. She regrets leaving the brunette without a proper goodbye. She regrets not telling her that she was the reason for her to come back.

Her mind was taken off from the brunette as she heard the announcement of her flight over the speakers. She's about to officially leave the country, to leave the person running on her mind every single day, to leave the person her heart wanted the most.

She sighed before grabbing her bags and making her way towards the gates. Her mind was on to one thing only; its too late.

Just before she could hand her ticket over to the lady on the desk, her phone suddenly buzzed.

The caller ID read the name that she least expected to see. But without any hesitation, she answered. It took her a few minutes before finally having the courage to speak.

"Jade..."

"Hi Perrie," her voice was as lovely as the day that the blonde last heard it. Her one wish was to hear it for the rest of her life. "How are you?"

"I'm good," she replied. "I'm about to get on the plane. But I'm glad you called, I've been meaning to talk to you."

"Oh..." To say that the news surprised the brunette would be an understatement. "about what?"

"About what happened that day," she said, making her way on one of the benches. She heard from the lady over the speaker that she has a few minutes before the plane leaves. So, she makes sure to make the most out of it.

"I'm sorry that I left without saying goodbye. Believe me when I tell you that I regretted what I did more than anything, it was a stupid and rash decision." Perrie said, trying her best to not break in right then and there. "Sana mapatawad mo ako." (I wish you can forgive me.)

"Its okay, Perrie, I understand." Jade truthfully said. She was hurt by what happened that day. She had many visions on how her confession would turn out, but what happened was not one of them. It hurt her so much that it caused her to leave a couple of classes. It hurt her so much that she cried herself at night, telling herself that it was clear that the blonde didn't feel the same way. It hurt her but she can't help but admit that she still feels the same way towards the blonde. If possible, it got stronger.

That being the reason why she got the courage to call her today. She just didn't expect that the day she decided to call the blonde would be the day of her departure.

"I also want to say another thing," the blonde said, cutting off Jade's thoughts. "When you confessed your feelings, I was overwhelmed. That being the reason why I left. But, I want you to know that...I like you too."

Jade didn't no what to reply. She both happy and confused with the blonde's words. She's happy to have to hear the blonde say it back but she was confused as to why she didn't tell her back then. Things would've been much easier.

"I'm sorry I didn't say it back sooner, I didn't want to leave you hanging. Although, that's what I did anyways." Jade could sense the sincerity in the blonde's voice. "I like you but I'm sorry, I still have to go."

"I understand," Relief washed over the blonde's face as she heard Jade's reply. "But, will you come back?"

"For you? I will. I promise."

"Will we still be able to talk even if you're there?"

"Of course, they got wifi there, you know," she said, giggles in between. "We'd talk everyday, we can even face time!"

"That sounds great," Jade said giddily, obviously excited. "You should go now, the plane might leave you."

"You're right," the blonde said before making her way back to the gates again.

"Hey Perrie?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for teaching me Filipino, my essay got an A because of you."

Perrie smiled, glad that she got the chance to help the brunette. "Its no worries, besides, I think you got an A because you're just that great."

"If it weren't for your creative teaching style, I wouldn't be able to even start writing it." She said. "You know what? I think I forgot all that you taught me."

"Want a quick recap?"

"Nah, you're going to board and I think I'll just get in the way," As much as the brunette wanted to talk more to the blonde, she knows she can't. She's just going to hold her back from the calling of her heart.

"Actually, I think I forgot to teach you another word."

"Oh yeah? What is it?"

"Mahal kita," (I love you.)

"What does that mean?"

"You have to figure it out yourself." Perrie said, a smile appearing on her lips. "I have to go now, I'll message you once I landed safely in Manila."

The brunette groaned but can't help but admit that she liked the blonde's challenge. Perrie knows her abilities, that she can figure the meaning of the words sooner or later.

"Okay, have a safe flight, Perrie," Jade said. "Talk to you soon!"

"I will," Perrie replied. "Remember...mahal kita."

The blonde had a wide grin on her face as she made her way inside the plane. She never thought that her travel back to the country she grew up on would be this enjoyable. She can't wait to see the Philippines again but she knows that the thing she can't wait most was to talk to the brunette whom months before was just her student.

She was glad to have taught her how to speak Filipino because in return, the brunette taught her how to love.
