Kate’s P.O.V.
Dr. Grey met us at the front desk of the hospital.
“How are you doing,” he asked.
“I’m fine, but how’s my mom, “ I asked.
“She’s quite upset right now, but once we get her calmed
down, she should be okay.”
“She’s upset,” I asked.
“Yes, because she wants t see you right away,” Dr. Grey
answered.
“Oh, okay,” I said. We walked up to my mom’s hospital
room where we found her arguing with the nurses.
“Mom, calm down,” I told her as I entered the room.
“Oh, Kate, there you are,” my mom said obviously relieved
that I was there.
“Yep, I’m here; now listen to the doctor and nurses,” I told
her sternly.
“Kater, where are you going,” my mom asked me as I turned
to leave the bedside.
“I’ll be right back,” I assured her. “I just have to talk to Dr.
Grey.”
“What did you want to talk about,” Dr. Grey asked me as I
led him out of the room and into the hall.
“Did the baby survive all of this,” I asked.
“We don’t know yet since your mother wouldn’t let us do any
tests until she saw you first,” he answered.
“Okay, that’s all I wanted to know,” I said.
“I’m going to tell you this, though,” Dr. Grey replied. “There
is a great chance that the baby didn’t survive.”
“Okay, thanks,” I told him, then we headed back into my mom’s
hospital room.
“Miranda,” Dr. Grey said to my mom, “will you let us do the
tests now?”
“Sure,” my mom answered.
“Okay, now we can discuss when you’re going to be released,”
Dr. Grey said. “We’re going to have to keep you for a few days
just to make sure that you’re doing okay. If everything looks
like it, then you can go home. You will need to make sure that
you see a doctor sometime soon after you get home just to make
sure you’re doing okay. When you were in a coma, your wounds
were still healing. Now, they’re not completely healed, but they’re
close enough to being there. Once you get home you need to make
sure that you stay as calm as possible, and take it easy for a few
days. Do you have any questions?”
“Will I have to take any medication, or what,” my mom asked.
“Actually, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about so I’m
not going to prescribe any medication,” Dr. Grey answered.
“Okay,” my mom replied.
“Okay, as long as you don’t have anymore questions for me
I’m going to leave you and Kate to catch up. Although, I will have
a nurse come in to do the tests we talked about earlier. Does that
sound okay?”
“Yes, thank you,” my mom told him, then Dr. Grey left the
room.
Christian’s P.O.V.
I watched Kate as she talked to her mom. I could tell that
she was happy which made me happy.
“Hey, are you okay,” Kate asked me quietly, dragging me out of my
thoughts. I looked up to see that her mom was sleeping.
“Yeah,” I told her, “I was just thinking.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“First of all there’s the fact that we get to go home
soon. Then, there’s the fact that we’re together, and you finally
seem like you’re happy,” I answered.
“I am happy,” Kate smiled.
“Well, I’m glad,” I told her with a smile of my own.
“But with my luck my happiness probably won’t last
long,” she sighed.
“Don’t jinx it,” I replied.
“Wow,” she said through bursts of laughter.
“You know what,” I said.
“What,” she asked curiously.
“I miss hearing you laugh,” I told her.
“Really,” she asked. “Why?”
“Because it lets me know that you’re happy,” I
answered.
“No, really,” Kate said sarcastically.
“Your sarcasm does the same thing,” I said. “I
think that I’ve actually missed that, too.”
“You missed my sarcasm,” she asked skeptically. “I
thought my sarcasm ticked you off. Isn’t that what
sarcasm is supposed to do?”
“It can tick some people off, but I don’t belong in that
group. This is because of the fact that I can be very
sarcastic myself.”
“Oh, really,” Kate asked with a hint of skepticism.
“Yep, I’m a natural,” I told her.
“You two are the weirdest couple there has ever been,”
Kate’s mom stated. She had been sleeping jut a few minutes
before so when she spoke it made both me and Kate jump.
“Mom,” Kate sighed.
“What,” her mom asked innocently. For a mother and a
daughter who had barely spoken in the past almost five years,
they got along perfectly.
“Nothing,” Kate answered.
“So,” I said.
“What,” Kate asked.
“When exactly are they going to let you out of here,” I asked.
“Well, it was supposed to be a few days, but Dr. Grey told me
that since I have Kate to help me out that they’ll possibly let me
out tomorrow morning.”
Miranda’s P.O.V.
I was so ready to go home with Kate. Once we got home
we would start a new mother-daughter relationship.
“Kate,” I wondered.
“What is it, mom,” she asked.
“Do you like the house we live in right now?”
“I don’t know,” she answered. “It’s kind of big for the
two of us, but then again I kind of like it.”
“Okay,” I said.
“Why’d you ask,” Kate asked.
“I was just wondering if you would want to find a
smaller house since, once I can go back to work, I’m going
to be working a lot. I just don’t want you to be alone in such
a big house all of the time.”
“It’s okay,” Kate assured me. “I’ll probably be with
Christian, Brittney, Nick, and Nate most of the time while
you’re at work anyway.”
“Are you sure,” I asked uncertainly. I didn’t want to make
it so that we couldn’t spend time with each other. Especially
now that she had some sort of epilepsy.
“Mom, I’m sure,” Kate said. “I promise that I’ll always
have someone with me if you’re worried that I’ll pass out.”
Kate’s P.O.V.
I knew that I was right about my mom not wanting
me to be alone too much in case something did happen, and
I passed out. As if on cue, everything turned dark and I knew
that I had passed out.
