Chapter 23
Anna
I woke to the smell of cooking food as i opened my eyes, sniffing the air while i peeked over the covers of Amy's bed and saw, on the side table, two boiled eggs and some toast, as well as some orange juice. I smiled to myself when i noticed Amy was stood there also, smiling away at her cooking attempts. It was cute to know she had woken up early to cook me breakfast in bed, even cuter to see that she still had her elephant pj's on from last night.
Last night was one of the best nights i have had in a while, not because we ate a very large pepperoni and pineapple pizza that was delicious, but because i had cuddled up to Amy all night watching movies and getting to know each other better.
She told me all about her parents and the situation they were in, and how she ended up living with her mom while Jess lived with her Dad. How they would swap around once in a while so they could see both parents. I imagined it to be exhausting, considering they probably had to travel to school once a week from a different distance and manage to still get ready on time. I understood that her parents lived far apart so it was hard to travel back and forth every week.
I also found out she was a fond lover of elephants, not because she had pj's with them on, but because she had photos of them, literally everywhere around her room and on her clothes. I couldn't help but feel warm inside as she told me about her mother taking her to a safari park every year just to see them.
Amy was different to most girls i knew. Her personality was beyond cute and amazing, but her mood was always positive. She thoughts about others than herself, which i loved to see in someone. Never selfish, always giving.
I told her about my life to, trying not to go into too much detail about my mum and dad and how my mum was pretty much an alcoholic, once upon a time. I wasn't quite comfortable yet, telling her about my past, but she understood anyway, and i was grateful for that. Amy's mother didn't bother us at all when i was here, only when she knocked on the door to give us our pizza, of course, i offered to pay for my share, but she politely declined. I wasn't sure as to whether or not her mother knew about Amy's sexuality. However, from what Amy told me, it was her dad that disagreed with that lifestyle, not her mother. So she avoided telling her dad anything, and tried her best to bond with her mum more than anyone else.
After we shared the pizza and watched a couple of films, we agreed to sleep because it was so late. Lucky for us, we didn't have school tomorrow since it was the weekend, and we already had plans according to Amy. I laughed so hard when she told me that, because she was basically kidnapping me from my own home.
I hadn't been home for two days now and she was still planning on making me stay over for the weekend. Even though she was determined to have me stay, i couldn't, since i needed to spend time at home too. Amy didn't mind though, she said she was just lucky enough to spend one more day with me and that she would drop me home later. Amy's task, apparently, was to make me happy. I smirked at that, she was too cute for me to handle.
The bed sunk in beside me as Amy sat on the edge, cutting the toast into triangles as she also had her breakfast beside her. The thing was, i didn't like eggs, but i couldn't tell her that when she had nicely went out of her way to cook me some.
"Your breakfast ma'lady." Amy said, raising her eyebrow as she bowed her head towards me, attempting to act like a gentleman. I couldn't help but giggle as she had a little butter on her cheek, where she must have wiped it and got it there without realizing. Her eyes twinkled when i sat up, grabbing the tray with the breakfast on. Before i could eat anything, i needed to get the butter off her cheek before she goes out with it on.
"You got butter on your cheek." I mumbled, as i shoved a slice of toast in my mouth, biting into it as i felt the butter go down my throat. I liked breakfast, it was the best meal of the day. Amy frowned as she looked into the mirror by her door and laughed to herself. Walking back over to the bed, she sat back down and left it on her cheek, not caring that it was there.
"Here." I answered, grinning my ass off as she looked up smirking. I leaned forward and wiped it off her cheek with my fingers, before licking it off them. "Yum" I added.
"Tease." She said, taking a bite of her toast.
We sat there eating breakfast and talking before she practically ordered me to get dressed, but what she didn't realize, was that i haven't even got any clothes to wear. I hadn't brought any with me and the only clothes here that were mine, was the dress i wore to the party. I think she knew though as she went into her cupboard and threw me some high waist-ed, black jeans, and a red top, displaying a smiley face on the front. I also got a light purple jacket thrown in my face as i stood up to get changed. Her laughed filled the room when i glared at her for hitting me in the face.
"Sorry, beautiful" She said, grabbing out some clothes for herself as well. I can't believed she's mine. Amy is actually my girlfriend. I have a girlfriend! A week ago, i would never have guess this would happen to someone like me. Someone who was shy and afraid of everything. Here i was, more confident than I've ever been as i managed to get changed in front of her, without even hiding anything. I saw her wink as she got changed also, before walking over to me and hugging me, kissing my cheek.
"So, i was thinking. Have you ever been to a zoo?" Amy said, holding my hands as she stepped backwards and waited for my response.
My answered was clearly no, i didn't go many placed when i was younger. I was lucky, if i even got the chance to go to the Park, never mind a zoo. The only animals i ever saw were my family. Not including myself...at times.
"No, I've never really been anywhere before" I answered truthfully. Her eyes bulged open as her mouth dropped. I was only being honest, she clearly didn't believe me.
"So you've never been to the cinema? Or bowling? Or, i don't know, swimming?" She asked, running a hand through her now blond hair, frowning slightly. Of course, i didn't mean it like that, i have been places like bowling and stuff, but never extreme places like the zoo, or camping and places like that. I didn't have the chance to. When my dad left, my mom never took us anywhere.
"I've been bowling, and swimming. I actually remember swimming with my school, i couldn't get a grasp of it. I had to stay in the shallow area." I laughed, remembering like it was yesterday. I couldn't swim, i couldn't skate. I was useless.
"Wow. Right. I want you to do something for me, ok?" I nodded, not sure of what she meant, but nodded anyway. "I want you to, in your own time, get a piece of paper, and write down any places you haven't been before. It can be anything, and i promise you. I will take you there at some point. Just me and you." She smiled, holding my hand and squeezing it gently.
My heart melted. Damn, she really did care about me, i couldn't believed my ears, she was too sweet. I didn't know what to say though, so i just nodded once more, which seemed to do the trick as her whole face lit up with happiness. leaning forward, she brought her lips to mine gently, holding me close before we heard a buzzing sound coming from the side. We both backed away smiling, while i walked over to the side to retrieve my phone. There, on the front of the screen was a message from Anna.
'We need to talk'
What did that mean? Why did she want to talk and what was it about? I guess i had been selfish these past two days, i had invited her out just to leave her alone with people she barely knew. Then again, she barely even knew me either, so was that a bad thing. Didn't she enjoy being around my friends? Didn't she enjoy being around me?
"Who is it?" I heard behind me. I turned around and watched as Amy packet a small blanket into her bag and some snacks left over from last night. Her body was facing away from me, but she was looking my way, glancing over her shoulder. I stood, only a few feet away as i held my phone close to me as i shrugged my shoulders.
"It's Anna, she said she wants to talk." I said honestly. I couldn't lie to Amy, not after everything she's done for me this week. Her body tensed as she turned around facing me, frowning to herself while closing the zip to her bag.
"Oh. Talk about what?" She asked.
"I don't know. It doesn't say."
"You can phone her if you want. I'm just going to grab some more stuff from downstairs." Amy grabbed her bad and walked towards the door, stopping before she opened it. "Oh and Kate?"
I felt my heart tug slightly as she turned around and forced a smile. I could tell she was jealous, especially after last night when she admitted that she thought i liked Anna.
"Tell her i said hi." That's it, i was dead. I couldn't believed the look in her eyes, she still thought i liked her. Well, i guess i had to prove today that i only liked her. I couldn't let her think i was with her to make someone else jealous, not since i knew what that felt like, to be used like that, by her own sister.
Then i thought, what the hell is she going to say when she finds out i kissed her sister? If she liked me at the time, she's going to be devastated that her sister got there first. I'm in so much trouble. I sighed as i pressed dial on my phone, bringing it to my ear as i waited patiently for Anna to answer. After a few more rings, she answered.
"Hello?" She said, most likely unsure of what to say to me, other than hi. I gulped down the lump that magically appeared in my throat.
"H-hey!" I stuttered. "You, err, wanted to talk to me?" I said, stating thee obvious. A shuffle was heard from the other side of the phone.
"Yeah, but, not on the phone. In person." Why not on the phone? What was so important that she had to tell me in person? I ignored my thoughts and listened. "I just wanted to talk to you about something." She added once she had stopped shuffling about.
"Ok. I can't right now, but we could meet up later?" it went silent for a minute. Thinking she had hung up, i looked at the screen, but she was still on the phone. I brought it back to my ear and waited.
"Ok, i'll see you then." She said, sounding disappointed. I frowned at that, but shrugged it off, i'll talk to her later. I told her goodbye and hung up the phone, just as Amy entered the room with two big bags in her hand. I laughed before walking over to her to help as she looked like she was struggling. She mumbled thanks and then gave one to me, flinging the other around her shoulder for support.
"So what did she want?" She asked. Trying to hide the jealousy in her voice, but it didn't work, i could tell from a mile away that she was. It was kind of sexy. I don't know why. I just liked the fact she was jealous, it meant that she wanted me to herself, i liked that feeling. However, she didn't have anything to worry about, Anna didn't like me and i didnn't like Anna. At least, i thought i did, but i'm sure of it now. I liked Amy. I liked her a lot.
"Nothing really. You have nothing to worry about, i want you. I only want you." I said, blushing. I felt her hand grab mine as she forced me to look at her. When i did, i could see her beautiful smile plastered over face.
"Good. Come on, there is adorable animals waiting for us. We can't let them down, can we?" She said, smiling. I shook my head and followed her down the stairs. I wonder what Anna wanted? I was curious to know, yet i was scared at the same time.

"Say cheese!" Amy shouted all excited as she took a picture of us. We were standing in front of a cage with monkeys in, one of them was hanging from the bars behind us, so Amy had a bright idea to take a picture with them. I laughed aloud when Amy took the picture, the monkey jumped down and wiggled it's butt at us. Amy crouched down laughing too before waving at them and dragging me down the path to the next animals.
"Amy. Wait! Maybe we should get some food first, i'm getting kind of hungry." I admitted. We had been running around all day looking at animals i had never seen before up close, which was most of them. At some point, Amy fed some pigs half of her hot-dog, which she got into trouble for. She said she was just trying to bond with them over food. It made me laugh of course, but she did nearly get us into a lot of trouble with the zoo keeper. We ended up walking around and taking pictures of everything, including us.
"Ok ok. Just please can i have a photo of us kissing? Please?" She wined, pouting. Amy was so cute, she had been so nice to me all day, but to think of it, why wouldn't she be? She's not only my best friend, she's my girlfriend now. We were together. So what was the harm in having photos of us kissing?
"Sure." I answered, her smile huge as she kissed me deeply, hearing a click on her phone as she took a picture. Before i got the chance to look at it, she grabbed my hand and dragged me off towards the field area, where there were families sitting on the grass and watching the animals not too far away. Amy sat down under a tree in the shade as she kept complaining the sun was too hot. It was rare we had any sun in England, so i was surprised to hear her moaning about it. Yet, because we never really had the sun out, it was in fact hard to handle. We weren't used to this much heat.
I sat beside Amy as she grabbed her bag and lay a blanket down on the floor for us to lay on, including some sandwiches she must have made this morning when i called Anna. Anna was acting weird for some reason, she seemed ok yesterday, even, happy? After the phone call we had this morning, she had me worrying about her. Amy must of noticed because she kept trying to make me laugh with stupid jokes and some funny dancing, which worked, because the next thing i knew, i was only thinking of her. Only thinking about kissing her. Maybe more.
Last night was amazing. We stayed up most of the night either cuddling and kissing, or trying to stop ourselves from screaming at the new horror film that's just come out, called 'The Prophecy' about some demons. It was scary to say the least, most of Amy's floor was covered in popcorn by the end of the night from jumping all over the place at the scary jump scenes. She just kept laughing at me, and me laughing at her.
"You ok?" Amy asked, placing the food she bought on the blanket next to our feet, while taking out two cans of drink. I grabbed the one she gave me and opened it, chugging most of it down, feeling it run down my throat. What? I was thirsty!
"Yeah i'm good thank you. Better now i've had a drink." She smiled, placing her head on my shoulder as we both watched some children running about chasing each other. I smiled too as i locked her hand in mine and rubbed her thumb. I felt a sudden chill run up my back when she looked into my eyes. Her eyes! It was hard not to stare into them, they were so beautiful and breath-taking. I couldn't help but get lost into them. "Better now you're mine"
"Don't. You will make me blush." She giggled, lifting her head up off my shoulder and biting her lip. Her tongue traced her bottom lip as she stared at mine. Wanting me to kiss her, she pulled me forward by my hood and kissed me deeply. Sliding her tongue along my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I politely accepted and muffled a moan as her tongue entered my mouth, running along mine as she moaned also. Damn! Her moans were hot as hell! Literally. The hair on my arms raised up as i felt her fingers trace them lightly, pulling me further in a trance as she continues to kiss me passionately. Unfortunately, i had to stop her before we both got carried away. After all, there were families here, and i doubt they wanted to watch two, very horny girls, kissing.
Pulling away slowly, we both caught our breath and chuckled. Today had been a good day, no, the best day ever. When i first met Amy, i wouldn't have guessed we'd be here a week later, smiling in each others faces like the world was ours, time was only ours to keep and no one could stop us from falling, real fast and real deep. I should have known from the way i stared at her admiringly and thoughtfully that i was falling for her the minute i turned around and saw her beautiful smile, her beautiful face. At least i realized now, before it was too late, that i did have feelings for her. It wasn't a stupid crush that i thought would go away fast like the others did. I got over Jess pretty fast, because it was a stupid crush i thought was big. Then she told me she was with Vanessa, it only hurt for a second and then i was fine. I guess i needed Amy's kiss to make me realize it was her i wanted. No one else, just her.
"So, you sure you can't stay over tonight?" She leaned against the tree behind her and drank from her can, pulled me back into her as she made me sit between her legs with my back into her chest. It was so comfortable sitting like this.
"Yeah. I have to go home at some point, but i can always stay over again next Friday."
"I'd like that."

After Amy dropped me home, kissing me before i entered my house, i pulled my phone from my pocket and message Anna to meet me in the park near my house. Luckily, she didn't live too far away from the park herself, so it was easier to meet her this way.
When i entered the house, i could smell the sweet smell of curry cooking on the stove. I didn't really like curry, but since i didn't eat anything for dinner- my mum telling me not too- i would eat anything if it meant it'd fill me up.
"Hey mom!" I shouted before entering the kitchen. When i entered, my mum was already sitting down at the table with my two sisters and my brother. It was nice to see them for once since they never came up here. My sister held her son in her arms as he chomped down his sausage on the plate. I smiled at them and placed my bag onto the side, walking over to my nephew and giving him a big fat hug.
"Hey handsome, you ok." He nodded and kissed my cheek, returning to his food. My nephew was such a nice kid, he always gave me kisses and hugs because i was obviously his favorite aunt. My sister hugged me too as she told me about Kyle's award he got from Nursery and how he won a certificate too. I sat at the table as my mum gave me a bowl with some curry in and ate it, as a family for once.
After we ate, it was time for me to go meet Anna, i didn't want to be late since it was starting to get dark and i didn't want her to go home on her own in the dark. I would walk her back, but after a long argument with my mum about go going, yet again, she said i could only meet Anna and then come straight home. I guess i was on lock down, but i didn't blame her. I did, in fact, not come home for two days.
Here i stood, waiting in the park on the bench, holding my phone as she said she would message me when she was there. Just as i was giving up hope, my phone buzzed and a hand crept onto my shoulder. After watching so many horrors last night about murderers, i obviously couldn't help it when i jumped up off the bench and whizzed around. Anna giggled as she saw the horror on my face from being scared.
"That was not funny. You scared me." I breathed out, trying to catch my breath. That was the fastest i've moved in a while. Anna laughed once more before gesturing me to sit down on the bench as she took a seat. I joined her and offered a smile. As much as i loved a little scare, i just wanted to get straight to the point. "So what did you want to talk about?" I asked, seeing her shuffle awkwardly.
I tried for an hour to figure out what she wanted to talk to me about, but i couldn't for the life of me, figure it out. Was it to do with me leaving her alone with my friends? Did she have something to say about school? I just couldn't figure it out. It was annoying the crap out of me.
"Yeah. There's something i need to tell you, but you can't tell anyone. I trust you Kate. More than I've trusted anyone in my life and i need you right now. Because the thing is..." I waited, for what seemed forever. Never would i have guessed what she was about to say next. Never would i have guessed it would be this what she wanted to admit to me right now.
"I'm pregnant"
