Sona's POV
"Sona ... Shona ... Door Kholo beta"
"Ei Shona door khol beta"
"Sona ... Sonakshi"
They kept calling me. They kept banging my door. I kept listening to their fading voices. The intensity of the banging noices kept increasing.
I was back home from ISS. The journey ended with such bitter memories. The entire gossip had a negative effect on me that I goofed up with my song a week back and here I am sulking. Meri na kismat hi kharab hai. Nothing goes right in my life. I am a crumbled mess. I hate myself. I hate my life.
"Sona tu nahi kholegi to hume darwaza todna padega!" Sourabh Da screamed his lungs out
I ... I didn't want to go out to the world outside. I didn't know why. I wanted to leave ISS asap to avoid the scam but then now back home I feel like a failure. I am a muddled mess truly.
"I see you in the finals" I remember Mohit Sir telling me this. Then why couldn't I achieve it?
Tears flowed down my eyes printing their stains. I began coughing due to the constant crying. My eyes fell on my school trophies.
"Sonakshi is a gem of a student" I remember my teacher telling me.
"Sonakshi is a failure ma'am ... She lost ... She is worth nothing!!" I said and reached upto the trophy. I lifted it up and threw it with full force.
Baba was right I should have taken the beaten track. Why did I join ISS??? Everything is ruined now. I am the worst thing that could have happened to the Bose family
"Sonakshi is worth nothing" I rubbed my face with my hands. My mind travelled back to the incidents of the past month ... Life had changed so much...
Dev
His name striked a soft chord in me. What if he ignores me now? Who will talk to a broken mess? He won't love me anymore? How will I live without him? And ... And ... When I will go back to work ... People will mock me. Why did I join that show??
Whatever confidence had brimmed inside me felt vapourising out of my self.
"Shona khol na darwaza" Dadi was pleading. I blankly looked at the door. I became numb.
Dev's POV

Finally
After good 15 minutes of trying and slipping then climbing back again I reached Sonakshi's window. A gentle push and I landed in her room with a thud!!
"Ouch" I rubbed my elbow which got hurt in the process. I looked up and found Sonakshi in the worst state ever. She wasn't even moving.... Just sitting blankly,staring at the door.
"Sonakshi"
She turned towards me. Her eyes were filled with tears yet they looked so empty.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"We were banging the door since an hour ... So I thought that this is the only way to enter your room" I said
"We?"
"Your family and I"
"You were with them?"
"Yes"
"I wanted to meet you and when I came here I got to know that you have locked yourself inside."
"That elbow. Is it hurting a lot?" She asked with concern
"A bit"
She got up from her place and searched for something in the drawer. I guess she was looking for a first aid box. She came back with a spray bottle of Volini
"Imagine agar mujhe bleeding ho rahi hoti to tum poorani filmo ke style me apna dupatta phadti and mere elbow pe baandhti" I said in a full dramatic tone
"No I won't do that" She said with a straight face "It takes a lot of sweat to earn money mai apna suit kyu kharab karu?"
"That hurts" I said and a playful smile replaced the sadness of her face. I have had many Dard-e-Dixit moments till date but seeing Sonakshi in such a broken state hurted more than any thing else.
I cupped her face and wiped her tears with my thumbs. She looked into my eyes like a fallen kid would do in his mother's for support. Bad example? Arey I'm a singer not a writer how can I give good examples!! Khud hi socho
She held my hand for a while and then not being able to control her tears hid her face in my chest. She cried bitterly and loudly clenching my shirt in her fist. She coughed,choked and sobbed bitterly in my arms. I wrapped my arms around her frame. I rubbed her back and caressed her hair.
"Things will be fine ... They will fall back to places... You are a warrior, you have showed exemplary determination many times. Don't break down from one setback. You deserve more than this Sona... And I am there for you always ... You know I love you and will always do" I was falling short of words still I tried to console her
"Why do you love me?" She asked in a low voice
"I Love You ... I love you because you are you ... That's it." I said with a smile.
"Shona shona" We heard Baba bang the door again
"Baba..." Sona's voice trailed off "I ... I have made his head hang low ... I entered the competition against his will and now ... I can't face him"
I cupped her cheek with my hand. "He loves you none the less. He is your Dad ... He was the most worried one out. He can be angry. He has the right too. Still he can't hate you. He'll be there to pick you up everytime you fall. Trust me."
She didn't want to but I insisted her to open the door. As soon as she did that Baba Bose was the first one to meet her. She shook a bit after looking at him but then she started crying.
"No Shona rote nahi hai ... You are really brave... You proved me wrong.... You were... Were so good baccha ... I am proud of you" Bijoy uncle was equally affected like me to see Sona in such a distorted stage.
"Baaki sab?" Sona asked. No one else from her family was around.
A soft music could be heard. All the lights were off, candles were lit all around. 4 people covering their faces with cardboard cut outs of Sonakshi's journey in ISS came. They were none other than Elena,Dadi, Sourabh Da and Asha Aunty

Her family was trying all that they could to cheer her up. Elena was tickling Sonakshi now, inviting a playful slap on her head. She is really lucky to have a family that cares so much

Elena opened her mouth to sing but Asha Aunty and Dadi covered it. I remembered Ele's warning to us during the auditions of singing in the most pathetic way possible if we don't trick her sister into auditions. Sonakshi laughed at their gesture she was coming back to normalcy.
