HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT & WIZARDRY

1942⌛️

"ADRIEL WAKE UP!" Lavender's voice shouted right in my ear.

I groaned covering my ears which were slightly ringing from Lavender screaming.

"I'm still tired." I gave a long yawn rolling over in bed.

"That's too bad buttercup, breakfast will be over in thirty minutes, so we have to get moving." Lavender informed me.

With heavy eyes I begrudgingly sat up in my bed. I rubbed my eyes while looking around. Penelope looked as though she had just been woke up as well.

"I'm telling Professor Dippet that breakfast should be later on the weekends." Penelope complained as she made her way out of bed.
Penelope's nightgown swayed slightly as she put pulled on silk slippers.

"It's not that bad, what's that thing muggles say? Early bird catches the worm?" Lavender exclaimed cheerfully.

Penelope wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Muggles are disgusting Lavender, never say that again." Penelope faked a shiver.

Lavender laughed agreeing to never say that phrase again. It was then I truly understood that my two new friends were not fond of anything 'muggle' related. Penelope then left the dorm room stating that she was going to bathe.

Lavender turned around once more to face me. It was then I took notice of her figure that was fully clothed and ready for the day. She once more was wearing the school uniform, a textbook in her right arm.

"Hurry and get dressed Adriel, we've only have thirty minutes to get to the great hall and eat before it disappears." Lavender sat in her bed cracking open her textbook.

With a shrug of my shoulders I stood from my bed. "Where is the bathroom?" I questioned.

"The shower chambers are the last door." Lavender told me without even looking from her book.

🕰🕰🕰🕰🕰

After getting ready for breakfast the three of us rushed to the great hall. We got there ten minutes before the food was ordered to disappear. Quickly our trio sat at the Slytherin table towards the end.

With no time to spare I started piling my plate sky high with food. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash-browns, pancakes, and toast were all placed onto my plate. I began stuffing my face - quite unladylike - with my plate's contents.

"You look as if you haven't eaten in days." Came a voice to the right of me.

Mid chew I looked to see who it was that addressed me. Tom Riddle's entire group sat looking at me, their mouth's slightly agape. Tom Riddle himself looked up at me from his book wide eyed at all the food piled on my plate.

A huge blush covered my face as I noticed Lavender and Penelope watching me with raised eye brows as well. I then realized it was Abraxas who spoke to me.

"I'm American." Is all managed to get out before I went back to stuffing my face, too hungry to care about the stares anymore.

Everyone else barely had anything on their plates compared to my mountain. After only ten minutes I had managed to eat all of my plates worth, plus two more. Just as I had swallowed my last piece of bacon, all the food disappeared leaving nothing in its trace.

Not once did anyone's stares let up, all of them watching in amazement at how I devoured all that food. "But how? You're like half my size and I can't even eat like that?" Victor Rosier managed to get out.

I shrugged a thought coming to my mind. "You know, I think Starbucks sounds amazing right now."

🕰🕰🕰🕰🕰

"So here we have classroom 99, also known as Charms class. It's taught by Professor Spilson, she's pretty easy-going as long as you do what you're suppose to do." Lavender informed me as we walked around the corridors.

Tom walked next to her slightly in lead accompanying us on the tour of the castle. I peered into the classroom only to see row upon rows of desks, alike to what I saw in Dumbledore's class when I first arrived.

We walked with Lavender making small talk on some interesting history about the founders of Hogwarts. "Did you know that Salazar Slytherin had many extra talents? There is one in particular he is most known for, though I can't remember exactly what it was." Lavender spoke a thoughtful expression.

"He was a Parselmouth." Tom spoke for the first out of the entire tour.

"Yes, yes, thank you Tom. That was what he was." Lavender grinned.

"Miss Rowle!" A voice yelled.

The three of us turned to the owner of the voice, only to see a woman with graying hair walking toward us. The woman wore a pointy hat and long robes which billowed behind her as she walked.

"Hello Professor Merrythought." Tom was the first to greet the woman as she reached us. "This is Adriel Pembroke newest student at Hogwarts." Tom motioned to me.

"Hello dear, I'm Professor Merrythought, teacher of Defense against the Dark arts." The two of us shook hands.

"Hello Professor, I'm sure I'll just love your class." I gave a polite smile back.

"Miss Rowle I need your assistance please, if you'll follow me." Professor Merrythought motioned for Lavender to follow her.

"Actually, I'm taking Adriel here on a tour of the school. Is there anyway it can wait?" Lavender questioned.

"I'm sure Tom can handle it by himself, come." Professor Merrythought left no room for argument.

Lavender gave me a sorry look as she followed the professor down the corridors.

"Well it looks like it's just us." I awkwardly coughed.

"Yes it would appear so." Tom gave me a scrutinizing look up and down my body.

I self-concisely looked down to the 40's styled summer dress I was wearing. My mom sure as hell knew fashion. She packed me only the best-most expensive fashions of the 1940's.

Every outfit that I was 1940's related was top-notch, only for the most aristocratic of people. It actually made myself appear rich. My hair was tightly pulled back into a curled high ponytail, with only cherry-red lip stick adorning my features. I truthfully had no reason for makeup. Even if I hated heels I had to admit the silver heels I wore looked absolutely killer.

I cleared my throat as Tom's gaze stayed glued to my body. His eyes found mine once more with a blank look, though I could have sworn I saw something else pass through his eyes.

"Let's go, no reason to add extra time." Tom spoke coolly before taking long strides forward.

I followed after him quickly down the long corridors. It was hard to keep up with his long strides, leaving me almost running after him. I noticed we were walking in the opposite direction of where Professor Merrythought and Lavender went.

"On your left is the potions classroom." Tom informed me nodding his head to a classroom filled to the brink with tables carrying pots. I couldn't help my curiosity and ended up asking the worst question possible.

"Why are there so many pots on the table?" Tom stopped dead in his tracks.

I stopped as well, he was a good ten feet away from him. Slowly Tom turned to face me a suspicious look adorning his handsome features.

"Pots? Do you mean the cauldrons?" Tom finally asked after a moment of silence, his eyes narrowed.

I turned my head once more looking into the empty classroom with a multitude of pots. At the very front stood an extremely large pot, most likely the teachers. At my lack of answer Tom took swift strides until he was standing right in front of me. My eyes widened at the sudden close proximity of him.

Tom turned his head so he was staring into the classroom as well. "The pots that are on the desks." I nodded pointing a finger at the pots.

"Yes, cauldrons." Tom spoke eyeing me suspiciously, the close proximity not bothering him in the slightest.

"They just call em' pots back in America." I shrugged my shoulders using the first excuse that came to mind.

"Are you positive, because I was under the impression that everyone called them cauldrons. Not pots. In fact, as far as I believe only a muggle would mistake the word cauldron for pot." Tom spoke his eyes searching mine for any sense of a lie.

"Yeah? Well you're wrong, they call them pots." I bit back with a warning tone that didn't faze Tom in the slightest. "And I believe I've already told you that I come from a long line of pure-blooded wizards." I spoke confidently adding a proud tone.

Technically I wasn't lying to him. I did come from a long line of pure-blooded witches and wizards, I just didn't mention that I wasn't one myself.

"I'd be careful then, wouldn't want people thinking you're a mud-blood." Tom said a smirk lighting his features.

I simply nodded in response my hands curling into fists at my side. This guy sure knew how to pick at people's irritation when he wanted. I couldn't help but be annoyed at the fact that I only reached under his chin.

Why was he so tall?

Tom down at me that stupid smirk still in place. Oh how I wanted to slap that smirk right off his face. With a sigh I relaxed my hands and looked back into the classroom filled with 'cauldrons'.

"Enough staring at the 'pots', we still have much to see." Tom snickered moving away from my body.

Subconsciously I couldn't help but miss the feeling of warmth his body provided. I followed after struggling once more to keep his pace. "Down this corridor is Arithmancy, Dragon Science, and Lost wands. At the very end is the headmaster's office." Tom motioned to a corridor on my right that we were passing.

"The corridor that we're about to pass leads to room thirteen, an empty room. The caretaker; Artemis Ogletree's office. As well as the Ancient Runes class." Tom spoke swiftly as we began to pass the corridor.

"Caretaker?" I questioned confused as to what they would use a caretaker for.

"Yes, Ogletree is in charge of both the castle and students hygiene. He is in charge of security during Hogsmeade trips, and he dolls out punishments." Tom informed me without batting an eyelash.

"What sort of punishment?" I couldn't hold back the curiosity that lingered in my voice.

"Corporal punishment." Tom answered no emotion in his tone.

"Corporal punishment." I repeated not able to hide the way my voice shook slightly .

That was not good, not good at all.

I noticed the corners of Tom's lip twitch as he noticed the slight fear in my voice. "You know paddling, belting, caning." Tom spoke casually causing me to almost pass out.

"Really?" I squeaked.

I watched as lips upturned into a small smirk. "Yes, but don't worry it's very rare someone actually gets punished corporeally. Dumbledore isn't fond of it, and generally saves the students from the punishment usually just switching them to a detention." Tom let a small amused chuckle escape his lips at my look of relief.

It was at that moment a man passed the two of us walking. He looked creepy to say the least. However; it was how he held himself that made him look that way, in fact it almost looked that he could be attractive if truly wanted too.

He wore a cheap looking suit and his hair was cut short. His coal eyes glanced from Tom to me. A small gleam appeared in his eye as he took me in head to toe. Lust.

Excuse me mister, I'm only fifteen and you're like really old.

"You must be the new student I was informed about last night, yes?" The man stated stopping both Tom and I in our tracks.

"Yes." I said quieter than I wished.

He hummed holding out his hand. I hesitantly placed my own in his as he shook it very slowly.

"I'm mister Ogletree, as I'm sure Tom here as informed you." He spoke glancing Tom's way before his eyes came back to me. I gave a small shake of the head.

"Well then I'm sure you realize what happens to students who break the rules of the school?" Again I nodded. "You best hope I don't catch you breaking the rules. I'd hate to see what would happen if such events were to take place." He gave me a perverted look, winking at me.

I quickly snatched my hand out of his and looked to Tom for help. Tom held an apparent anger in his eyes at the caretaker, before he stormed over. Tom gripped my arm throwing the caretaker a tight lipped smile.

"As you can see, I'm in the middle of a tour so we must be going." Is all Tom said a dangerous look in his eyes as he glared at Mr. Ogletree.

Quickly Tom pulled me with him away from the caretaker and down another corridor.

"Out that way we have the Quidditch pitch, broomstick practice, and introduction to Quidditch." Tom finally spoke after moments of silence motioning outside. His voice was rough as if he was holding back a large amount of anger.

He seemed to have forgotten that he was holding my arm as pulled me around the corridors with him.

"Up those stairs is the Ravenclaw common room." He tilted his head to the staircase speaking gruffly.

"I don't understand that." I spoke back looking toward the Ravenclaw common room.

"Don't understand what?" Tom looked over to me speaking in a low voice, obviously still annoyed with Ogletree.

"Ravenclaw. I mean why is their mascot a eagle?" I shook my head huffing in annoyance.

"What other animal would it be?" Tom stopped and turned to me curiously.

It was then he realized that he was still holding onto me and swiftly released my arm taking a step away from me. I made my face stay clear of any emotion pretending as if I hadn't noticed.

"Oh I don't know? How about a Raven." I spoke allowing my voice to be laced with annoyance.

"I mean it doesn't even make sense, like an eagle? Really? The name is Ravenclaw, why would you put an eagle as the mascot?" I started ranting to him about Ravenclaw.

I saw the corner of Tom's mouth twitch as if he wanted to smile, but wouldn't allow himself. "Adriel, as much as I would love to hear you complain about a rival house we really do need to get on with the tour."

"Okay." I sighed defensively holding my arms up.

Tom rolled his eyes turning away, but I could've sworn I caught the slightest sight of a smile.

🕰🕰🕰🕰🕰

The tour ended with Tom showing me the school's library which I would definitely be paying a visit to. I mea, here there was no google where I could just search all my questions on, therefore I'd be rolling old school and simply read about the wizarding ways.

Not only did I have a huge load of wizarding definitions to get accustomed to, I also had about five years worth of spells to catch up on.

Tom had left me outside the common room after the tour because he had a meeting with the potions Professor.

Quickly I made my way to the library remembering the way Tom showed me. I wasn't sure where Penelope or Lavender were at the moment, and Tom was busy, so it gave me the perfect opportunity to go reading up on the wizarding world and such.

Passing corridor after corridor I allowed my eyes to wander. I had passed multiple students a few of which had introduced themselves, while the others simply whispered about the new student. My heels clicked as I came upon the large door which led to the library.

As I entered a nerdy looking middle aged man gazed at me from where I stood. I assumed he was the librarian at where the desk he sat at was located. He simply shrugged at me and dove right back into whatever book he was reading, his large glasses slipping to the edge of his nose as he did so.

The library was fairly empty with a couple students scattered here and there, but nothing too bad. Practically all the tables and chairs were open so I started walking around in search of some books that would help me.

I made my way around the library finding any book that would be beneficial to me. After a few minutes of searching I stumbled to a table in the very back my arms filled with books. Some were about Hogwarts history, some of the wizarding history, and the rest were about grade level one and two spells. The last thing I needed was anyone from Slytherin seeing what I was reading and getting suspicious.

With a small huff, I grabbed the first book in my large pile. Hogwarts: A History.

"Hogwarts: A History. By Bathilda Bagshot." I read the title aloud to myself quietly. With a small shrug I opened the book up and began reading.

The flipping of the pages soon turned into flipping through the chapters, until I was on the second to last chapter of the entire book.

I had to admit it was an interesting read. In my opinion it was way more interesting than the grimoires the witches of New Orleans possessed. However, the grimoires do contain extremely powerful spell that I doubt Hogwarts would have in there library.

With a small sigh I placed the book back onto the table in front me. I pursed my lips, tapping my nails against the front cover of the book while thinking to myself. I've was having an inner debate on what the read next.

The Standard Book of Spell, Grade 1, or Care of Magical Creatures? Decisions, decisions.

Ultimately I ended up choosing The Standard Book of Spells, because I knew that I had to at least be able to perform minor spells with a wand for class the next day. If I just walked in unable to do anything with my wand it would look terribly suspicious.

My eyes raced across the chapters absorbing each and every word, allowing it to permanently imprint on my mind. I noticed that there was absolutely no point in learning any of these spells as I could already do it myself.

I mean I'd never really need to use the wand-lighting charm unless I'm walking around with another wizard in the dark or something, but let's face that's never going to happen. Having enhanced vision allows my eyes to adjust perfectly to the darkness, therefore there is no need for a wand-lighting charm.

A softening charm sounds cool to be able to do, but at the end of day I could probably just turn something into rubber with my mind way faster than I could with a wand. I quickly stopped my thoughts as I realized that I still needed to learn them no matter what.

I was enrolled as pure-blooded witch, and was suppose to know every spell up to grade five. Nobody here except Dumbledore knows I'm a Nephilim meaning I'm stuck learning these spells or everyone finds out my secret.

I can only imagine what would happen if people were to find out. The ministry would probably visit to see if it was true, and when they saw it was they would get in touch with Heaven's forces straight away. After that Heaven would either try to smite me dead, or send angels here themselves in an attempt to catch me and lock me up.

Yep, that's not gonna happen on my watch. I refuse to be locked in the prisons Heaven.

I shook my head ridding myself of those thoughts and started to feel around the table for my wand. I soon realized I had left it back in my dorm room and cursed myself.

'Why am I such an idiot?' I muttered under breath. Slyly I looked around the library seeing only two students sitting at a table toward the front, far away from the one I was at.

Last time, Adriel.

Quickly I snapped my wrist up in a sort of flick motion, I felt the weight of my wand not even a second later. I knew no one had noticed and heaved a sigh of relief. I read over the wand-lighting spell once more before closing my eyes.

"Lumos." I said waving my wand slightly. I opened one eye only to see my wand still the same shade, not one speck of light. I growled in frustration and quickly read over the spell once more, trying to see what I did wrong.

"The Wand-Lighting Charm is simple, but requires concentration. Take care not to accidentally set your wand alight as damage of this kind can be permanent. If in any doubt about your abilities you would do better to buy yourself a magic lantern ." I read the small passage to myself still not understanding what I did.

I wish dad was here, he could help me.

No, I need to prove that I could do this. I had to prove that I truly was capable of completing this mission. I slightly suspected that my parents were doubting my ability to actually succeed in this task. If that was the case I was going to prove them wrong.

With a new found determination and focus I closed my eyes.

"Lumos." I waved my wand in a circular motion.

Even with my eyelids being closed I could still see a bright light. Immediately I opened my eyes and gave a huge grin. At the tip of my wand was an extremely bright light, I did it!

"Nox." I spoke confidently doing the correct wand movements successfully putting out the light.

Even if most people didn't think it much I was proud of myself. My angel side tended to be more dominant when it came to powers and such. Of course my witch side was there, but I rarely exercised it sticking to Enochian magic.

I felt more of a connection to pure Enochian magic, verses the witch magic I had as well. Yes, my wand did help as it allowed me to put Enochian energy into my witch magic. However; I still felt pure Enochian magic was easier to use rather than attempting to do a spell every time I wanted something done.

So yeah, I was proud of myself in that moment. Yes, I was still technically using Enochian energy, but the progress was there. I'm determined to succeed at this task. I will change Tom Riddle for the better, and nothing will get in my way.

Yay progress! So how is everyone liking the story? Comment I love to hear your thoughts! Just in case anyone didn't know corporal punishment was around at Hogwarts until Dumbledore banned when he became headmaster. Since he's not headmaster yet, it's still around.
