Afina got up the next morning to see Raphael was already up and getting ready. Afina stretched as she let out a well needed yawn
"Morning sunshine" Raphael laughed and Afina waved him off before grabbing her phone to see if she had any missed messages
Izzy: Alec is hosting a downworlder meeting every week
"There's a downworlder meeting?" Afina asked turning to Raphael who nodded in response
"Are you going?" He asked and Afina shrugged making him chuckle
"I didn't know about this until right now, I guess I'll go to support Alec and also because my mothers visiting" Afina sighed before standing up and going to the closet to grab a pair of clothes
"What do you think about moving in?" Raphael asked randomly making Afina turn to him quickly
"Wait seriously?" She asked and he nodded before walking up to her and kissing her forehead
"Dead serious" he said making her laugh slightly
"Don't really know if that was meant to sound like a joke but it did" Afina said making Raphael shake his head before leaving her to get ready

Afina walked up to the couch that was in Raphaels room before grabbing her phone and turning to her boyfriend
"I'm gonna head to the institute" Afina said walking up to him and giving him a quick kiss before turning to the door
"I'll see you tonight" Raphael called and Afina turned to him
"Ya, behave yourself Raphael" She called back grinning before leaving

Afina arrived to the institute awhile later and she started looking for her sister or her brother
"Afina!" She heard someone shout and she turned to reveal her mother
"Mom" Afina sighed straightening up and fixing whatever she thought was wrong
"Afina please don't be so serious, I want to apologize and I can't do it when I see what I turn you into every time I'm around" her mother explained
"Apologize?" Afina questioned loosening her posture
"I know I have not been a great mother, I'm not even your real mother. I'm sorry I kept that from you and I'm sorry for everything I did" she explained her eyes watering
"Mom, you are my real mother you raised me I wouldn't have it any other way there's no need to apologize." Afina said grabbing her mothers hands
Her mother smiled brightly at her second daughter before wrapping her in a comforting hug something Afina hadn't gotten from her in a long time
"You need to go get ready!" She said pulling away before pushing Afina into her old room to get ready
Afina laughed as her mom quickly closed the door before she looked in her closet to find a nice dress she could wear
After Afina got ready she went out to search for her sister or brother again. She knew the meeting would start soon because it was getting to be night time
She was walking through the institute when she finally saw her sister, she went to call her name when someone else stepped in front of her
"Why is everyone stopping me right now?" She groaned before looking up to see it was only Sebastian
"Sorry just wanted to say hello" he smiled before holding out his hand
Afina rolled her eyes before trying to get past him when he grabbed her wrist pulling her back to where she was
"Don't touch me" she growled yanking her wrist away from his grasp
"Sorry, I just want to start over we didn't get off to a good start" Sebastian said putting his hands behind his back
"No I don't want to start over, I'm gonna be blunt. I don't like you, I don't have great history with people named Sebastian and you seem very suspicious. So my answer will forever be no!" She said sternly before shoving past him to get to Izzy and Alec
"Afina! I'm so glad you came" Izzy said running up to her and giving her sister a hug which Afina gladly returned
After pulling away she turned to Alec pulling him in for a hug making her brother chuckle but hugged back nonetheless
Afina stepped back after pulling away from her hug with Alec and looked around to see that Clary and Jace weren't there
"Where's Clary and Jace?" She asked
"On a mission" Alec said and she nodded before standing next to Izzy to greet the incoming Downworlders
Meliorn was the first Afina saw walk up and he had a slight frown on his face
"I'll be honest when I received your invitation I was skeptical, I still am though with your sisters presence makes me feel better" He said walking up to the siblings before stopping in front of them
"Hello Meliorn" Afina smiled receiving one in return
Afina tuned out her siblings as she looked to her side to see Raphael walking in. She smiled before walking over to him giving him a hug
"Glad you could back it" she grinned jokingly making Raphael roll his eyes in return before leaning to give her a kiss on the cheek
"Raphael" Izzy smiled walking up to the vampire who smiled in return but held onto Afinas hand
"Wasn't sure I'd see you here" he said
"Alec's the new head of the institute, he wanted me here to make the downworlders feel welcome" Izzy explained and Raphael nodded
"Seems like such a waste of my skills" Izzy laughed
"I disagree, I fee very welcome. I'm glad you're here" Raphael said making Izzy smile but Afina frown at the way her sister looked at him
"Me too" Izzy said before she, Meliorn, Afina and Raphael walked over to where the meeting was
Raphael let go of Afinas hand when they got into the next room and Afina walked around talking to other Downworlders before she looked up and saw Raphael talking to Izzy.
Afina watched them talk for a minute before Sebastian walked over to them joining the conversation
She could hear him introducing himself and she saw Raphael quickly set a glare on him after hearing his name
After a few more minutes she heard Raphael excuse himself before quickly walking up to Afina
"Stay away from that guy" he said sternly looking back at Sebastian with a harsh glare
"Trust me I wasn't going any where near him. I don't trust him." Afina said watching as Raphael started to get angry so she quickly grabbed his hand
"Raphael it's ok, calm down." Afina said kissing his cheek before looking over to see the meeting about to start "you better go over there don't want to be the late one"
Raphael chuckled before giving Afina a quick kiss and walking over to the meeting

Afina sat around waiting for the meeting to end when she saw everyone at the table getting up and leaving
She got up and went to find Raphael who she found talking to Meliorn
"You still have feelings for her don't you?" Meliorn asked
"No I just don't like Sebastian" Raphael denied watching Izzy leave
"Oh is that why you're in such a rush to get Afina moved in?" Meliorn asked and Afina could hear the cockiness in his voice
"What?" Raphael asked turning to Meliorn who only laughed
"Are you moving her in because you want her away from him or are you moving her in to prove you don't have feelings for Isabelle anymore?" Meliorn asked before walking away leaving Afina to think
After awhile she saw everyone going back over to the table except for Luke but she could honestly care less
Afina went to walk away when everything around her became blurry and the voices sounded distant
She collapsed on the ground taking deep breaths in as the voices faded out and a deeper unclear one emerged
Half angel half demon
Those words kept repeating in her head when she finally could hear it
Beast!
Afina gasped awake her eyes wide in fear as she quickly looked around before seeing Raphael and Izzy next to her
"What just happened?" Izzy asked helping Afina sit up
"I don't know" Afina sighed and Raphael wrapped her in his arms
"The meeting ended, I'll take you back to the hotel" Raphael said and Afina nodded
When she went to stand up Raphael quickly picked her up bridal style before carrying her out of the institute

As soon as they got to the hotel Afina was already asleep so Raphael quickly brought her up to his room
He laid her down on his bed before backing away and sitting on a chair as he watched over her
Sighing, he cleared his head of thoughts about Izzy and Afina and went to talk to his clan
