"And a little bit of this." Ashley sprinkled something across my cheeks.
I scrunched up my nose because I hated that she offered to do my makeup. She's not bad considering her face always looks good but she still wore a lot more for my taste.
"Okay all done!" She stepped back and smiled. I turned around to look in the mirror.
I whistled at my reflection. "Damn Ashley! You made me look good!" I could barley tell that I had any makeup on my face. My eyes were what gave me away though. I looked super hot!
"Okay, I'm going to go change!" As soon as I got up, Anna sat down in the chair and jumped up and down in her seat. "Me next! Do me next!"
"That's what she said!" Anna gasped and threw an eyeliner pencil at me. I ran into the bathroom laughing and kicked out Jen who was halfway done with her hair. "What-what-." She spluttered, but I closed the door before she could get anything out.
I quickly opened my backpack and took out my neatly folded pants and top.
My black skinny jeans hugged my legs and made them look slimmer, I admired my butt in them and then giggled because I was admiring my own butt. My hair was curled and pinned back so it wouldn't be in my face the whole time.
I went back outside and Jen, who was banging on the door the whole time, slapped my arm and went back into the bathroom, locking the door behind her while mumbling curse words under her breath.
Ashley was in the middle of doing Anna's hair when she stopped and looked at me. "Wow! You look great!"

I twirled for her. "Thanks."
I went into my backpack and looked for my flats, but they weren't there! "Damnit! I forgot my shoes!"
"Jen!" I banged on the bathroom door. "Lemme borrow some shoes please!" I whimpered so she wouldn't say no.
"Ari! I will kick your ass! Ask Anna or Ashley, I'm trying to look beautiful!"
I rolled my eyes and turned around, giving them a puppy dog face.
Anna laughed at my face and pinched my cheeks. "What's your shoe size?"
"I'm a size 10." I said looking at Anna's feet, which seemed a little small for me.
"I'm a size 8." Said Ashley pointing at her neatly polished foot towards me.
"Sorry Ari, I'm a size 5." Aha! I knew Anna's feet were too small for me!
I pouted. "Jen! What's your shoe size!" She didn't answer and I was becoming impatient.
"Jen ans-" I got cut off by the bathroom door banging open.
"Whoa." I said, looking her up and down.
"Holy crap Jen!" Anna and Ashley said together.
Jen was wearing a dress that complimented her long legs. Her hair was pinned back like mine, except she had small curls framing her face. She wore heels that matched her dress.
She stepped out with her hand on her hip and I swear if I wasn't straight, I would be all over that.
She looked like a goddess. The heels made her seem even taller and I couldn't help but feel completely small next to her even though I considered myself pretty tall.
I hugged her. "You look so beautiful Jen! Like a freaken goddess!" She blushed and shyly looked away. "Thanks."
Anna and Ashley attacked her, admiring her as well.
"You guys aren't even dressed!" She pointed to Ashley and Anna who were still in casual clothes. They squeaked when they noticed and rushed outside into their rooms.
Jen suddenly gasped and I looked at her to see her looking at me.
"You look hot!" This time I blushed and waved my hand at her. "Oh, stop it you."
"No, seriously! By the way, I wear a size 11 shoe, so I don't have anything you can wear." She added.
I sighed and grabbed my nikes. "I guess I'll wear these. At least I'll be comfortable!" I pouted again when I looked down at my dirty shoes.
Jen laughed. "Hang on, let me see if I have someone who has the same shoe size as you."
I expected her to grab her phone and maybe text her family members but instead she stood in place with her eyes glazed over.
What the...
I waved my hand in front of her face, trying to get her attention.
"Tori!" She yelled all of a sudden making me jump. "You can borrow from her!" She clapped her hands together.
She noticed the freaked out expression on my face and slowly her smile went away.
"What the heck Jen! You looked so out of it!" I stared at her eyes to see if they looked like before. They didn't.
"Oh yeah." She laughed nervously. "I was trying to remember who had the same shoe size and it's my cousin Victoria." She rubbed her neck when I narrowed my eyes.
Okaaaay.
"Oh, can you ask her to bring me some? Or I can go to her?"
"Go to her!" She yelled to fast. "I mean, you can go to her. Her room is up the stairs, fifth door on the left."
"Okay thanks." I left barefoot and climbed up the stairs to Tori's room. As soon I was upstairs, I saw another staircase leading up another floor. Man, I have got to explore this house!
I knocked on the fifth door to the left and immediately a tall dark haired girl with beautiful chocolate skin opened the door.
"Hi! I'm Tori! You must be Ari. I have black shoes or red shoes you can wear with that outfit!" She ushered me in. "How did you know I needed shoes?" I asked confused. I never saw Jen call her?
Her eyes glazed over and she froze. What the hell! Her too!
She looked at me again with a nervous smile. "Oh! Ha ha, um, Jen called me when you were on your way! You look so beautiful by the way! I have heels, flats, sandals, whatever you want. But if you ask me..." She took a pair of black strappy heels and held them next to my outfit.
She changed the subject pretty fast but I guess it makes sense.
I grabbed the heels from her and tried them on. Wow, my feet look sexy!
"I think these are perfect, thanks!"
"Are you going to the party too?" I asked. She was wearing a nice brown dress.
"Yeah, I'm just waiting for my ma-I mean boyfriend to pick me up. I'll see you down there!"
"Nice meeting you." I said politely when I left.
Is it me, or did everyone get a little weird all of a sudden.
I shrugged it off and went back to Jen's room.
Anna was waiting by the bed, rolling her eyes at Ashley who wouldn't stop twirling in front of the mirror.
"Ooo." I said when I noticed their dresses again.

I've already seen all of their dresses but they looked so different when they were paired with the right shoes and nicely done hair.
I looked down at my outfit. "Awe man! All of you guys are wearing dresses! I feel left out!"
"Hey, at least you look hot, so don't even worry about that!" Jen said as she kicked Anna and Ashley out of her room, closing the door behind her.
She grabbed my arm and led me down the stairs where a couple of people were starting to come already.
I whistled when I noticed the nicely dressed guys in the party. "Dude, you have some hot cousins."
"Well, they're not all my cousins! Some of them are friends and some of them are friends of friends."
The clock in the living room read 9:06 making my jaw drop. Man the time flies when you're having fun. Not that I was complaining or anything.
I checked my phone to see a message from my mom 2 hours ago. I texted back that I was having fun and would text her when I needed a ride.
A screeching sound came up on the stereo making me cover my ears, groaning.
Man that was loud! I glanced around the room noticing how it was getting more crowded by the second. I was freaking out on the inside because I was afraid I was going to lose control.
The stereo screeched again making me grit my teeth. Get it together women! Tonight, you are a normal human being with normal hearing.
My ears disagreed when the song In Da Club started to play super loud.
Some guys dragged their dates to the middle of the room and started to dance to the beat and I couldn't help but start to get excited.
I was at my first high school party.
Jen and a lot of people were huddled by a table and when I approached them, I was hit with the scent of alcohol and from my burning nostrils, it smelled strong.
"Are you planning on getting drunk?" I asked Jen when she poured herself a full cup. She gulped it down super quick. I was left staring at her when she poured another one.
Finally she answered. "Yup!" She said popping the 'p'. I noticed a lot of people filling up there cups with alcohol and drown them within seconds. Man they must drink a lot.
Jen pushed a cup towards me and I declined. "Nope, I don't drink. I never have and I think I never will."
"Never say never!" Jen drank her fourth cup and yelled at the top of her lungs. "IT'S MA BIRTHDAY!"
Everyone cheered her on and she ran into the middle of the dance floor.
Ashley and Anna were with some guys off to the side.
I felt weird standing by the alcohol so I looked for a seat and sat down next to a couple kissing each other. I thought it was innocent until he slipped his hand up her shirt.
"Okay!" I got up and walked to the kitchen. My stomach growled and I looked through the fridge to find a snack. I found nothing.
I closed the door with a groan.
A couple of people were hanging out by the island and some of them looked at me and whispered to their friends. I left before I got into a fight because of my overreactive rage.
I went back into the living room and a lot more people had come in. I was starting to feel a little sweaty and hot and my heart was beating way too fast.
Just relax, I told myself when a couple of people pushed passed me to go into the kitchen.
A couple of guys cheered loudly when one of their friends drank upside down from a large metal gallon looking thing which I found out later was called a keg.
I stood off to the side watching everyone have fun. Jen was dancing with Anna, Ashley and a couple of guys.
My ears tuned into a conversation that was happening somewhere around me but I couldn't see who it was and where they were.
"That guy better take his hand off of her or I'm gonna kill him." The guy, who I swear sounded like Nate, growled.
I looked at the dance floor to see Jen dancing with a guy, who had his hand on her waist.
Why would Nate care?
"Why do you even care man? She rejected you." My eyes widened when he spoke because I recognized that voice anywhere.
"Alex." I breathed in a small voice.
"What's wrong? Do you hear something?" Nate asked Alex.
"Nah man, I thought I heard my name."
My eyes almost popped out of my head. No way he heard me. I looked behind me and couldn't see him.
I shook my head and went back to their conversation.
"You don't get it Alex, I didn't reject her." Nate said sadly. "But that doesn't mean I'm giving up on her. I barley found her Alex but I love her already."
Nate loves Jen? And from what I heard it seems like she rejected him. I didn't even know!
I watched as Jen pushed some guys off of her when they got to handsy. I should ask her what's going on with her and Nate.
I went back to there conversation. "-she did become the new Beta as of today so I'm pretty sure she's just acting like that to get it out of her system. She'll come around when she realizes she can't live without you." Alex told Nate.
Beta? Is that some kind term for 18?
I pulled out my phone and searched Beta on Google.
Beta is the number two in the Greek language. She became the new two today. That makes no sense!
I then remembered they were talking about Alpha a couple of times. It means number one in Greek.
I slapped my forehead. Oh my god! What if they're Greek! That would make sense!
"-problem with Ari?"
My ears picked up their conversation again and I perked up with Nate's question.
Yeah! Answer that douchewad!
"Nothing, I have no problem with that girl."
Nate must have given him a pointed look because Alex sighed.
"I don't know man, every time I look at her, it's like I'm looking at, someone I-I don't know!"
"Do you think you're her mate?"
Alex cackled loudly. "You kidding me bro? You think that girl is my mate?"
"Hey, you said you feel something for her right? Maybe what you feel is Mate feelings you know? I felt the same way about Jen before we found out. Besides, you won't really know until she is 18 and who knows when that is. Actually the whole mate thing might not even be possible because she's not one of us."
One of us? Well then!
"Does your nose work man? I don't think she knows she's-"
"ARI!" A drunk Jen slammed into me and I barley caught myself before we both tumbled to the ground. "Jen! Jesus!"
I straightened her up almost making her fall over again. "Jen, how much did you drink?"
She came up close to my face. "Eleven." She breathed on my face.
"Whoa there! You need a piece of gum!"
She giggled in return. "You know, you're kind of a mystery to our whhhoooole pack!"
"Okay?" I stated confused as hell.
Jen held onto my shoulders and sniffed my neck. "You smell so weird! Like us but then not at the same time! What are you?!"
I backed away from her and looked around. Everyone had their eyes on me and I started to hyperventilate.
"Wha-what do you mean?" I chuckled nervously. "I'm just like you!"
I frowned when she shook her head, saying I wasn't.
My heart thumped loudly in my chest and I felt faint. "Jen stop it. I don't like these questions."
Anna came out of nowhere and grabbed Jen by the arm and yanked her to the side. "Shhhh!" She whispered to her not so softly. She dragged Jen towards the stairs probably trying to take her to her room but Jen got out of her grip and went back to the dance floor.
Ashley went to Anna and they both followed Jen and just surrounded her, almost like they were protecting her but from the way they were frozen, I had a feeling their eyes were glazed over like how Jen's were earlier.
My heart was still beating fast from my confrontation with Jen when I walked over to the alcohol table.
What did she mean? Maybe she meant ethnicity. Yeah, that's what she meant. I took in a deep breath and relaxed.
Everyone stopped looking at me as soon as Anna grabbed Jen and pulled her away from me.
I looked around the room and most people were just dancing and drinking. My eyes wandered up the stairs to the balcony and I don't know why but the scene in front of me broke my heart into a million pieces.
