Here I found myself again, The City that never sleeps! One of the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my 19 years of existence in the world. The place filled with luxury and memories that can never be replaced. My Home!
It's been 15 years since I bid my goodbye to this place, but then again, every year I go back here twice to find myself stuck in the same old rusty park bench that keeps reminding me that I'm alone in this God forsaken day. The worst day of my life, the day that's long gone, the day that I lost my family, the day I wish that never came, that day I kept waiting for someone who's never coming back. My Birthday.
I let out a deep sigh as I kept waiting for someone to come and get me here. I looked at my phone to check the time since I forgot to bring my watch and saw that it's already half past ten. An hour and a half to go, I thought to myself. I was about to put my phone back in my pocket when Ally's Caller ID flashed on my screen. I just stared at it until the call ended. Then I received numerous text messages from her and the other girls. Apparently they're looking for me for quite a while now. I ignored their texts and waited for some more.

"Happy Birthday Alex!" My mom woke me up at exactly 12 midnight "let's go downstairs and give thanks"
I happily nodded as we both went downstairs to meet my dad and my brothers who sang Happy Birthday to me as soon as they saw us
Parents usually don't let their kids be awake at this hour but mines different, we celebrate birthdays from 12 midnight to 11:59 in the evening. All-day-long celebration for us.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS" my brother Eric hugged me as soon as they finished the song
"Happy Birthday Sweetie" Dad said as he lifted me up and kissed me on my cheek "What'd you wanna do today?"
"Ice cream, pizza, pasta, and A day at the park!" I answered excitedly
"Your wish is our command princess!" He laughed
"Let's go eat so you can go back to rest okay" mom said
"Okay!" My brother and I replied as we walked hand in hand towards the dinner table
"Meat and Cheese?" Eric handed me a slice of my favorite pizza
"Yey!" I squealed "thanks coy"
"No problemo lil sis"
"Don't each too much cake Eric, you still have to rest" my mom reminded him
"You too, Marc Sebastián. Don't give Johnny any sweets or you'll be the one taking care of him"
"Yes mommy!" Dad laughed
"Why didn't Alex get any reminder?" Eric asked
"Because I don't really like sweets kuya"
"Right!" He laughed
As soon as we finished eating, mom sent us back to our rooms to rest until the morning. I wanted Eric to come cuddle with me in my room and watch SpongeBob Squarepants so he did until we both fell asleep.

I smiled as the last happy memory of my family flashed back in my head. A tear escaped from my eyes when I once again felt the emptiness in my heart. I miss them so much.
I heard my phone ringing, I wanted to ignore it so badly but it was Ally. I know it's her without looking, my ringtone for her is different from the others. I took my phone out and once again stare at its screen until the call ends.

I sighed as I received another call from Allyson. Should I answer? Probably not. As the call once again ended, I took a deep breath. I was about to lock my phone when I accidentally clicked Ally's messages open
"Sh*t!"

"F*CK! STUPID Y/N!" I cursed myself then my phone started ringing again
She'll be mad if I ignore this one when I've already seen her messages 🤦🏼♀️
Feeling stupid, I sighed and answered my girl's call
"HOLY SH*T Y/N! WHERE ARE YOU?" the person on the other line yelled as soon as she realized I picked up her call. I immediately recognized that the voice isn't Ally's.
"Uh-this is not Ally"
"No I'm not! It's Mani!"
"Oh-where is she? Is she okay?"
"Ally's worried sick y/n! She's been looking for you since you left but you never answered any of our calls and messages! Where the f*ck are you?!"
"Uh---"
"Is that her?!" I heard another angry voice from the other line. That one's from Ally. Pray for my soul!
"WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU Y/N Y/L/N?!!" she yelled angrily at the phone "GET OUTTA HERE HAMILTON! IMMA GIVE THIS GIRL A HARD VERBAL BEATING!"
"H-hey?"
"DON'T 'HEY' ME NOW Y/L/N!"
"I'm sorry love"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT! YOU CAN'T EVEN ANSWER YOUR GOD DAMN PHONE FOR ME B*TCH!"
"Ooh Allysin... sh*t not the time" I mentally slapped my face
"SHUT THE F*CK UP!"
"Sorry"
"WHERE THE F*CK ARE YOU?!!"
"I can't tell you"
"THE F*CK?! DO YOU EVEN CARE HOW MUCH I WORRY FOR YOU?" I heard her voice cracked "F*CKING TELL ME!"
"I just needed some time away. I'm somewhere safe love. Don't worry"
"WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT 'SOMEWHERE SAFE'?! THE F*CK ARE YOU DOING THERE? AND WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU THINKING GOING AWAY WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME?!! OR JUST TINA?!! OR ANY F*CKING ONE"
"I-I'm j-just"
"DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT PEOPLE GET WORRIED FOR YOU?!"
"I'm sorry"
"Why'd you have to go without even telling anybody?" I can hear her crying from the other line
"Baby I'm sorry. Don't cry"
"When will you be back?"
"I'll take the 4am flight back to Manila"
"FLIGHT?! How far away are you y/n?!"
"So far away" I admitted "but I'll be back soon"
"I hate you!"
"I'm sorry love. Don't be mad"
"Just come back safe okay?" she said as she kept sobbing
"Yes I will. Now stop crying"
"I miss you"
I smiled upon hearing those words from her at the same time, I felt guilty for making her cry for the second time
"I miss you too love. I'll be back soon"
"I'll go now. Mom heard me yelling and cursing, I might be dead as you found me" she chuckled
"Aww I'll follow you if you are"
"Don't do that"
"I'm kidding love" I laughed "take care of yourself. See you soon"
"You take care of yourself!"
"Sure"
"Bye y/n" then she ended the call
I checked the time again
"5 more minutes" I sighed and started making an origami rose

"Alex! Wake up!" Eric woke me up
"It's 2am Eric. Let me sleep please" I groaned
"We need to go now honey" he said, I can hear a hint of fear in his tone
"What wrong kuya?"
"We'll be going somewhere!" He said faking an excited tone for me "C'mon now Alex! Let's meet dad downstairs"
He dragged me down to meet dad when we heard a loud noise from outside our door
"What's that?" I asked
"Shh. Keep it down."
I jumped a little when I heard another noise
"Kids come here!" Dad called
"Dad? Where's mom?"
"Baby listen to me okay?"
"Yes dad?"
"You need to go to the park with your brother okay?"
"How about you papa?"
"I'll be going after you" he smiled
"Why not come together with us?"
"I still need to do something baby" he said as the noise from outside became louder and louder until we heard something broke down
I was about to look around when dad stopped me before turning his head to my brother
"Eric! Go take your sister to the park! Mom and Johnny are there" dad told my older brother Eric
Eric just nodded with a sad smile plastered on his face

I felt the pain that I never wanted to feel anymore. I looked at my surroundings once more, hoping to see them to fetch me but it's the same result as it is for the past 15 years. I looked at my phone and let out a bitter laugh as I got up my seat and left the rose at the bench. I started walking my way back to my car leaving my chained soul in that bench once again.
