WHY IS CHRIS HEMSWORTH SO HAWT!!!

WHY!

WHY!

Ahem. Moving on...

*

I accepted his warm hands and his long, slender fingers curled around mine gently helping me get down the expensive gold Lamborghini. My six-inch dark matte high heels slid out of the luxury car and down to the white marble, followed by my slender legs that flaunted it's perfect tan and smooth skin; thanks to the Brazilian waxing I took yesterday.

With an Oscar winning smile to the paparazzi cameras that went off wildly, showcasing my perfect teeth with the ruby red lips against smoky makeup and looking stunning in my dark cocktail dress that had its front raised teasingly till my mid-thigh. I straightened my spine and widened my grin at the hungry papps trying to get a clear shot of me as my date slid his hand on my back, pulling my closer to his powerful frame. His spicy scent I had grown accustomed to enveloped me almost instantly as I relaxed in his hold, ready to take on the papps who were foaming at the mouths.

Of course, they would want to catch a glimpse of an unknown woman who caught the attention of one of the most eligible bachelor in the world.

He gently applied pressure to my back and a loving smile in my direction that had his eyes twinkling, he led me away from the men and women with cameras and microphones swinging over their heads while the clawed at the towering body-guards and yelling lewd questions at us.

With the trail of my mid-night gown spilling on the pristine marble like a bottle of dark ink spilt on a sheet of paper; I gracefully sashayed along the swirling fabric behind me, hanging on to his powerful arms to the giant doors that was opened only to the crème de la crème of the society. I flashed a coy smile at him and I was rewarded with a wink that had me giggling in his arms.

The crowd parted before us like the Red sea did for Moses and I couldn't help but feel smug at all the women gaping at me and then at my date, as if they couldn't believe their eyes.

Yeah right bitches, eat your heart out!

"You okay?"

He asked me, his voice of deep timber as he whispered near the shell of my ear making his warm breath fan against the nape of my neck exposed by the loose bun I had decided to wear that evening.

I looked up at his handsome face, the gentle light accentuating his jawline that could cut diamonds. I smiled wide, the one that spoke volumes of how excited I was. I couldn't wait to see Adam's parents' faces.

"More than okay."

I assured him and he chuckled at my enthusiasm. And with a deep breath to calm my nerves I leaned on his supporting hold, glad that I had him behind me; knowing quite well the risks and how this could go horribly wrong.

And that was when my eyes fell on the couple at the end of the hall, surrounded by familiar faces of Adam's family. They were laughing at something shared over their toast and stopped dead when their attention fell on us. I stiffened in his arms and fought to retain the smile on my face.

Especially when Adam's piercing blue eyes fell on me.

He wore customary tuxedo yet managed to look a hundred times hotter than any man in this room; his broad shoulders and powerful body clad in the suit-coat that seemed to fit him so perfectly. His sandy blonde was slicked back that brought all attention to his clean shaven jaw, his sharp jawline and high cheekbones pronounced.

In a nutshell, he looked like a runaway GQ model.

My breath faltered and had to catch myself before I ran into the safety of his arms as it was already occupied by none other than his fiancée. Sarah Brooke.

Yes ladies and gentlemen! Lo and behold, I came to attend Adam's engagement party.

I looked up at the man who held me close to his towering frame, his arms still around me. Aaron smiled down at me, his luscious dark hair falling into his warm brown eyes as he squeezed my waist gently to remind me where we stood. I nodded back at him subtly as I fixated back my gaze at the crowd that seemed to be stunned to silence at my presence.

Hey, come on! It's not every day you meet your ex's family, posing as the date of the guy with whom you apparently cheated your said former boyfriend and who also happens to be his best buddy.

Yeah, my life is complicated like that.

"Ria?"

Claire was the first one to break off the shock induced trance, calling out my name with a great deal of confusion as if she wanted to make sure that it was one hundred percent me. She wore a light golden gown, looking 10 years younger than she actually was. I shot her a friendly smile to which she blinked.

Wow, I feel loved.

Then the silence stretched out for a minute or two and I started to honestly worry that they expected us to go right back out.

"Aaron, thank you for accepting my invitation." Adam saved us from drowning in further embarrassment.

Like how long do you expect me to be comfortable with six pairs of eyes staring at you?

Aaron's grin widened, his suave and charming persona taking over. I relaxed just a bit as some of the pairs of eyes swung over to Adam with unmasked surprise. Adam stood indifferent to all the attention, trying to keep Sarah as far as possible although his hand rested on her waist. She wore a mid-thigh cocktail dress that was a burgundy color, her hair pulled up in an intricate bun. For the record, she looked good. After the initial surprise that I had nabbed the sexiest man in the planet, her lips pulled up into a smug smile as she tried to lean further into Adam's hold trying to tell me that she was the ultimate winner.

Despite wanting to tear off her fake platinum extensions right off her skull in a jealous rage, I swallowed it all and smiled kindly at her as if to say 'I happy that you seemed to take interest in one of my used toys'.

Afterall, the last winner hasn't been decided yet.

The game is still on.

"Congrats, man."

Aaron led me closer to the couple and soon we were in the middle of the small crowd, who were watching the proceedings with interest. Adam's eyes were not on Aaron but on me and I couldn't help but flush slightly, hoping that my tan would hide it all. And when his eyes met mine, all the doubts and insecurities whether this plan would work out or not flew right out of the window.

He may be engaged Sarah but his heart belonged to me.

Wondering why?

Well, it all started some 30 hours back when Adam, Aaron and I along with Aaron's PA Samantha, two air hostesses and a pilot was travelling over the Pacific after our grand runaway from my marriage (the second time).

*

"Wow, it sounds so complicated...and confusing."

I said with a frown as I snuggled deeper in Adam's protective hold. I was still in my blouse and Rajasthani skirt but Adam still managed to hold me in his lap, his warm hands drawing distracting little circles in my bare stomach. We were in Aaron's private jet and the man in question himself sat opposite to us; his leg poised arrogantly over the center table as he nursed a glass of Whisky and his PA drooling over him unashamedly next to him.

"It is, Cartoon Baby. Then again, it is Chloe we are dealing with. We should have seen this coming." He told me with a swing of glass.

I couldn't help but look away. He'd warned me of her yet I chose to argue on her behalf. I thought it was unfair on her if these men still haven't given her a chance to redeem herself. But turns out some people just doesn't change that easily. It taught me to give my trust not so easily, that it must be conserved at least a little bit.

"But...I don't understand. The love-bites, the nail marks on you, the-the condom...my dress..." I trailed away, trying to ignore the piercing stare from Adam. Aaron laughed.

"The way they did it...damn, it even convinced me that we, you know..."

I blushed.

"But what they didn't know was that you were a virgin...or the fact that you rant in your friend's voicemail when you are drunk and lonely."

"Hey!"

I shot up in Adam's hold, glaring menacingly at Aaron who simply laughed. His PA sighed dreamily at him and he winked. Adam coaxed me back into his hold and I huffed but complied anyway, relishing his familiar mint and musk. I nuzzled his neck and smiled at him when he looked at me, affectionately kissed my nose making me chuckle.

How I missed him!

"So what's the game plan Adam?" Aaron broke rudely broke our happy bubble.

"What game plan?" Adam asked back at him, confused. "We go back, I explain what really happened, kick Sarah out and hand Chloe over to the law."

"Are you f*cking with me, man?" He exclaimed as he kept his alcohol away, "Sarah already handed over four of your blank cheques to Chloe. And God knows if Sarah is busy looting your account details to Chloe's clients. God forbid, if your PA happens to know that you are preparing to take counter actions. Then your entire empire will collapse in one swift pull."

"My cheques are travelling cheques, meaning I will be reported of any and every withdrawals from my account. And if I claim I haven't given it to her, as long as she doesn't have a power of Attorney, she can be legally jailed." Adam replied, his demure shifting to business.

And when Adam means business, it IS business.

"So cheques are okay if we drop a line to whoever handles it." I tried dropping my input and three pairs of eyes were on me, "But what about the risks for your account details?"

At my question, Adam went silent. I could tell that he was busy thinking and not coming up with answers because his neck tightened the tendons in them visible. I slipped my hands around his neck, trying to ease out the tension.

I hated seeing him like that.

"We need evidence." Aaron suddenly said, his glassed eyes twinkling with excitement like every time he comes up with an idea.

"What?"

"Evidence. If we could somehow collect any solid evidence that Chloe is indeed blackmailing Sarah into hacking into your accounts, perhaps we stand a chance."

"We have the tape of them discussing Sarah's involvement."

"Yes...but only about breaking up you and Adam, not taking over his back accounts." Aaron shook his head as he scratched his 5'o clock shadow. "Sadly, financial courts don't imprison someone for breaking up a couple."

"So what are coming at?"

"Simple. Continue your engagement with Sarah and act like nothing happened." Aaron shrugged.

"WHAT?!"

Adam nearly jumped off of the seat, carrying me along with it. I pressed my head to his shoulder so that I wouldn't get a whiplash. His breathing was ragged as he glared at Aaron who rolled his eyes.

"Don't get your panties in a twist, I didn't mean you should abandon Ria. I simply meant that you should pretend that you never learned the truth. Your engagement party is tomorrow and that would probably be when Chloe would show up. Because hey, what is better than this huge diversion happening outside when you want to do something illegal. Chloe threatens Sarah or likely, Sarah hands over the documents to Chloe and BAM!" Aaron fell back in his seat dramatically with a big grin, "There you have your evidence."

"So you are saying that I should let this engagement party happen because that is the only ground we are sure that some transaction would happen?"

"Exactly."

At Aaron's concurrence, Adam looked down at me. His blue eyes were a swirling pool of sapphire, shining from the sun outside the plane and mostly from the love within. I was mesmerized, transfixed at it's beauty. With a smile I placed a hand on his stubbly jaw, loving the feel of his short facial hair tickling my palm. A small smile graced his pink lips that I longed to cover with mine. But with the company with us, I couldn't summon the courage to do so. So I settled with a small peck that had him grin at me and I effectively blushed beet red.

"I want you to be mine as soon as possible, Ria." He murmured to me in a soft tone that spoke volumes of how much he loved me. "And I would do anything for that. Tell me not to do this now, Ria, and I wouldn't do it whatever the cost may be."

His sincere tone nearly had me tear up. I shook my head and gave him a watery smile. "I love you and I can't stand to watch everything that you've built crumble away just because I want you to myself. We can do this together, Adam" I told him in a gentle whisper that stayed between us. Adam simply smiled back at me.

"I am so proud of you." He planted a kiss on my forehead before turning to a smirking Aaron.

"What else?" Adam asked after a moment's pause, as if he could read that Aaron had something else in his sly head. Aaron simply nodded in his PA's direction.

"Sam do me this favor, will you?" He drawled and his PA was on her toes to cater to every whim of his.

"Yes, sir?" Her voice was a sultry hiss and way unprofessional.

Gosh, talk about desperate!

"I want a press release as soon as this plane lands that I will be visiting Adam Lexwood's engagement party with a date." He nodded at her who was busy jolting down something in her iPad. "Make it as juicy as possible, my date is a virtual stranger to limelight." He added with an afterthought. Samantha, his PA, hurried off to find her laptop to send out her press release date.

"So, who is this soon-to-be-vortex-of-gossip and your potential date?" I asked airily.

"Why you of course, Cartoon Baby." He replied just as simply.

"WHAT?" Adam nearly roared. "I will not let you bring Ria's name down into your mess."

"Tut, tut. Not mess, Lexwood, a cover."

"A cover?" I parroted.

"Si." He nodded, his mother tongue taking the better of him. "A cover indeed. A safety blanket for Chloe, Sarah and your trusty bodyguard that things went as they planned."

"How are you going to convince them that nothing is suspicious if you bring Ria as your glorified date?" Adam asked with barely restrained anger as I watched the proceedings with interest. Things were definitely getting interesting.

"You leave that to me, old friend." Aaron smiled secretly at us as he picked his long forgotten glass of Whisky and took a long drag.

"If I can save this story till now, I definitely can finish this with a mighty bang."

For reasons beyond me, I completely trusted him.

*

"Never thought you would settle down, buddy" Aaron left my side to give this weird bro-hug to Adam. "Now who's gonna come with me on a boy's night out?" He asked with a deep chuckle.

Adam remained silent and I could sense that his stare was still on me although I broke my eye-contact to stare at this huge vase in the corner of the hall. I knew well that if I stare into those hypnotizing orbs, my true emotions would play out on my face.

"Ria?"

I heard someone call me and turned around my heels to see who it was. Not surprisingly, it was Kimberly. Her wild curls were tamed to a side-swept and she wore a stunning blue evening gown that really brought out her hourglass figure. I pulled my lips to a smile as Claire and Lorriane, who was wearing an off-white gown, was close behind.

"Hey, Kimberly." I grinned at her, "Long time no see."

"How could you do this?" She asked me in a rather hostile tone. My plans to play it off cool instantly vaporized into thin air at her question.

"What do you mean?"

I asked as I glanced at Adam and Aaron who were still talking away from hearing range, with Sarah still attached to his side like a Siamese twin. I took a deep breath to tone out my jealousy at having her stand next to my man like she owned him.

"Did you know how much he suffered after you left dear?" Claire elbowed her way through a Kimberly who was breathing fire by then, "He drank away to oblivion after you left; saying that the longer he stayed asleep, the less he would think of you. He told me that he loves you despite your mistakes and that although he will marry Sarah, he could never forget you. He regretted every single word said to you despite the fact that he had done what any hot-blooded male would have done. Why would you punish him more after all that he's been through?"

Although I had heard it all through Adam's tongue, I couldn't stop my eyes from misting when Claire spelled it out for me all over again. My irresponsibility was to blame for a minor part but that couldn't stop the anger that bubbled within me. Chloe and Sarah have hurt my man for their selfish purposes and they will pay. And I will make them pay. But for that I need to hold on, keep my emotions at check and play my part; for I can't afford for this drama to crumble. It was so much easier if I told them now but this is a fight they wouldn't want to get involved.

I needed to do this myself.

"It wasn't a mistake was it?" Kimberly spat at me, eying Aaron who was kissing Sarah's knuckles and obviously working his charm. "And you are here with him to rub salt to his wounds?"

"You sure speak a lot for your brother" I stepped up, taking Kimberly one-on-one. "But have anyone of you thought what became of me?" I hissed at all the three stunned faces. I stared them down as three of the women quieted down. Kimberly seemed to have come out of her anger pinnacle but yet she was agitated, at least.

"It was a mistake...at least at first." I said, my tone trailing off.

God, forgive me for doing this.

"When Adam threw me out of his house cold, confused, fatigued and naked; Aaron was the only one who stood next to me and helped me through. When he refused to trust me, Aaron trusted me. When I was left with no one, Aaron was there for me. If Adam couldn't love me without trust, it is best he and I part. And as for Aaron, all I care is that he decided to stick along with me when he could have easily dumped me in the side of the road like Adam did. And as long as he decides to stand next to me, I will let him do so." I finished with my chin raised, daring them to contradict me. They simply stared at me, astonished. Honestly, I myself am very proud of myself.

Maybe I should try Hollywood. Someday.

Lorraine took a deep breath, shaking her head slightly, "We didn't mean to defend my son, he had made his mistakes as well." I pursed my lips as I stared at Kimberly who suddenly had nothing to say. Her anger was nowhere to be seen and she refused to make eye-contact with me.

"I cannot blame you for wanting to Adam to have a happy life." I sighed. "And I do too. And trust me when I say this, this is the only way to let him have one."

I tried to make eye-contact with them to tell that everything is going to be fine. These three women who were striving so hard for Adam's happiness doesn't deserve lies but I didn't want them to be dragged into this mess as well. I had to control myself.

Suddenly a warm hand snaked up my bare back to pull me towards a muscular chest, jolting me off my thoughts. I looked up to find Aaron who was grinning down at me, his gaze tender at mine making me wonder if it was his near perfect acting skills or his genuine emotions.

He was a mystery I could never solve.

"I see that you are bonding with Adam's family, Cartoon Baby." Aaron flashed his swoon worth smile at the small group. "' Evening, ladies." He greeted.

"' Evening, Krystals. How have you been?" Claire replied, taking the most diplomatical approach.

"Never been better, Ma'am" He replied in a husky drawl, "Who am I to complain on taking part in this wonderful event with a beautiful woman in my arms?" To add in an effect, he planted a lingering kiss on my temple as if though he was really enamored with me. I blushed.

What is he trying to prove here? That I am an attention crazed woman who keeps jumping from one billionaire to the next and trapping them with my love?

I sound more like a Pokémon than a wh*re.

"Wonderful" Claire replied with a fake smile that would put Marilyn Monroe to shame.

"Well, of course." Lorraine concurred, but her face showed how disappointed she was.

"Why not?" Kimberly muttered annoyed.

"Surprising."

Said a fourth voice and all our gazes swung to the intruder and not surprisingly, it was Chloe. I had to take a deep breath and remind myself that I wouldn't look good in a prison uniform to tone down the instant anger that bubbled up my throat.

"Hey, Chloe!" I pretended to be surprised and at the same time happy to see her there.

Let me tell you---- hardest thing EVER!

"Ria!"

Chloe came up to me with a fake exclaim of happiness and air kissed my cheeks as a greeting. I had to stop myself from dry heaving when her strong perfume hit my nostrils, burning fine hairs inside my nose.

"My, my, don't you look stunning" She told me with a near perfect mask, "No wonder two of the most eligible bachelor in the world are at your feet." Her pun nearly had me seething but somehow I was able to control myself and shrunk back into Aaron's friendly yet territorial stance.

"Well, if it isn't Chloe!" Aaron said in a mocking sing-song, despite his wide and fake approachable smile he wore. "You look better than the last time we met! But then again, the last time we met, you were bending over my couch."

My jaws went slack in shock at Aaron's mere audacity to tell out something so crude and let me not start with the shock in Lorraine's, Kim's and Claire's faces. But all of it was worth the priceless look that Chloe wore for a fraction of a second before she started laughing politely, as a sophisticated way of saying 'I am going to pretend that you were joking and appear not to be embarrassed.'

"Ah, Aaron. I missed your jokes." Chloe retorted back, scrambling in the puddle she made.

"As did I, yours." Aaron fired back with a charming wink and a mocking bow.

I had never seen someone fleeing as fast as I had seen Chloe did then; lifting up her skirt, she speed-walked away to Adam and Sarah who stood just behind us talking to some suits. I had tried to contain a giggle but it's so bloody hard not to. A light chuckle escaped me and Aaron raised an amused brow in my direction.

"Who knew you'd hold grudges, Playboy?" I asked him light-heartedly, momentarily forgetting our audience.

"What grudge?" Claire caught on like a hawk.

I went wide-eyed with internal panic; lets' face it Claire is one sharp woman. I schooled my face neutral and blinked innocently, while I tried fishing for a coherent answer without giving anything away.

"Well, she was the reason why Adam and I drifted apart for nearly 9 years straight." He replied to Claire's question. She nodded, yet not sated with the answer.

"I—"

"Aaron."

Adam had his hand on Aaron's shoulder, commanding his immediate attention.

"I'll be in the lounge if you are ready for discussing the agreement terms; Sarah had left with Chloe to discuss something about the wedding. If your date—" He nodded in my direction, "---is fine with sitting in between a deal, we shall do so over a drink."

"What do you say, babe?" Aaron nodded over to me.

"I say why not" I replied with a smile, just like how we agreed upon.

"The lady is fine with it."

Aaron said airily as if there were all the time in the world when I would have been on the tip of my toes if I were not wearing heels. Aaron gripped me closer and looked over to the small group of women who were curiously looking at Adam, for some reason.

"Now ladies, if you excuse us."

Aaron nodded and whisked me away in a flurry of my dark lace, following Adam's powerful and purposeful strides. It was not soon that we broke out of the party in full swing into a broad passageway. The small antique balconies that appeared now and then in the corridor, showed the still Californian night outside. Adam came to a stop.

"Are you positive Chloe took Sarah?" Aaron asked when Adam turned.

"Positive."

He rumbled as he nearly brawled me off of Aaron's arms into his own. I crashed into his hold, snaking my arms around his broad shoulder to hook behind his neck as I hugged him. I breathed in his distinct smell, the kind that was a mix of mint, new tuxedo and a faint trace of his masculine musk. His arms curved around my fragile frame in a protective hold, that instantly had me relaxing and he nuzzled his large head on the column of my neck, placing a lingering kiss where my pulse was.

Tonight could make us or ruin us.

"You look so beautiful, baby." He murmured on my ears, his full lips brushing the soft skin under my ear, "If the entire charade hadn't been on this, I would have gathered you in my arms and kissed you senseless." A throat cleared behind us but we ignored Aaron.

"I'll be in the watch tower. You two love birds join me there once you are ready."

Aaron announced and I heard his footsteps fade away as he walked further away from us. I didn't give a damn. I was busy melting into the arms of the man who held me closely, his blue eyes shining under the soft light of moonlight. I brushed off a stray strand off his forehead as I continued to drown myself in the light pools he called eyes. The moonlight casted a dim glow on his face and suddenly I was reminded of our first kiss, on top of his hotel balcony.

"I love you so much, Adam." I murmured, loving the way his eyes lit up at my words.

"I love you too, Ria." He replied huskily, his eyes alit with so many emotions; mainly love. I enjoyed the way he squeezed my waist as if the extent to which I was pushed up against him was not enough.

"Now mister, I believe you owe me a kiss." I told him playfully to which he laughed. His laugh sent shivers of pleasure through me, igniting something carnal in my belly.

"Your wish is my command, milady."

He replied me before pulling me into a deep and passionate kiss that weakened me in my knees. His kiss was sweet yet harsh, gentle yet passionate, slow yet needy; showing me the how much he loved me and how much he lusted me. His kiss told me that there is none other than me, that I was his end and beginning, that I was the sun around which he revolved, the sea to his land and everything he ever wanted, all he ever wanted. No one had kissed me before like he did then; no one had told me the height of passion they felt for me with one small gesture as Adam's kiss.

I got lost in the magic he wove around us; severing is from the rest of the world in this tiny, tiny world that was just us. It was only him who could do this, it was only with him I would want to do this.

I threaded my fingers through his blonde mane and pulled him closer to me, showing him how much he meant to me. I told him all the unsaid between us, promised him over and over again how he was it for me. That he was my end of the line. Even when we broke apart centimeters off of one's face, were in another realm as we stared at each other's' eyes filled with love.

"I promise you Ria, once this over I will claim you as mine and will never let you go." He rasped his voice thick with emotions and desire.

"And I wouldn't want it any other way." I replied, sounding just as breathy as he did.

"But we would have appreciated if it were another way. The way that included telling us."

Both of froze.

Turning around we were met with a mob of three angry women, who stepped out from the shadow.

Lorraine, Kimberly and a very VERY angry Claire.
