"Have fun at school! Make sure to make some friends"
"Yea yea"
She hugged me as she handed me my lunchbox. I gave her a straight smile before dragging my feet outside. I look back and see her sigh as she turns back.
As I walk I look up to the sky. I wonder what today will be like. I wonder what type of people I would meet.
I look at the piece of paper and back up at the street signs. After a while of wandering around I finally spot a large building.
"Ah that must be it"
I quickly walk there as I look at the time. I'm going to be late...
I walk up to the front desk and eye the front lady. She raises her eyebrows.
"Yes?"
I don't say anything as I pass her my documents. She scans it for a second before giving me a smile.
"Ah yes, you're in class 2a. Here's the school map"
She hands me a brochure and I bow at her. I open it up and it's huge. I try to look for building two. After a long search I finally ended up in front of a classroom door. Before I got to knock it swings wide open.
I stare at the boy in front of me. He stares at my hand which is awkwardly in mid air. I put it down quickly and bow.
I hand him my profile and he looks at it taken back.
"Ah are you a new student.... (l/n)...(y/n)?"
I nod at him and he calls the teacher. She waves me inside.
"Come come! Introduce yourself"
The guy hands me back the paper and smiles at me before exiting the classroom. I stand in front of the class and bow. I couldn't be bothered speaking so I just grabbed the small pieces of chalk on the board and drew my name. I bowed again and everyone looked at me weirdly. I gave them an awkward smile.
Just as I was about to speak the teacher points at a seat.
"Okay you can go sit over there"
I nod my head as I make my way over to the table she has pointed at. Luckily it was near the window so I could just stare out of it all day. I placed my books on the table. I sit down and face away from my table mate. Unfortunately the view wasn't that great.
After homeroom was finished the teacher came up to me.
"Okay (y/n) you'll need to pick your extra subjects so here's the form. If you have any questions just come and ask me"
I nod my head at her as she leaves. I look down at the paper and see a bunch of words. Suddenly my eyes stop at 'art' I smile and quickly circle it. Before I could read anything else the bell had rang. All you could hear was the screeching of the chairs as everyone ran out the door.
"(Y/n) please give in your sheet to the front desk now"
I nod at her before quickly grabbing my stuff. I, once again, was back to searching. I get out the huge ridiculous map and tried to search for the front desk. All of a sudden I bump into someone causing the map to rip in half.
The guy looks at me wide eyed. It was the same guy I had bumped into earlier.
"Ah you again"
I look to the ground before noticing the map. I quickly pick it up and point at the front desk icon. He looks at it before looking around and pointing somewhere.
"It's over there"
I bow at him as I quickly leave. I fast walk to the front desk and the lady greets me with a smile.
"Ah yes, what can I do for you"
I didn't say anything as I hand her my form. She starts scribbling on the paper before putting it aside. While she was writing on some paper I see the brochure she gave me earlier. I try to reach over the counter and she looks at me struggling.
"Ah here"
She reaches it for me and I smile at her as a thank you. She hands me another piece of paper.
"Since it's your first day you can just pick your other subjects later but for now you only need one. Heres your class and time table"
I bow again before gently taking it. I scan the paper as I try to find my way around to the art room. As I get there I realise the class was already starting.
"Ah new student! Uh you can go sit over there"
I instantly spot the guy who's going to be next to me. He raises his eyebrows at me as I sit down next to him.
"Are you following me?"
I look at him weirdly before ignoring him.
"Okay class today we'll be starting something new! You shall start doing your assessment pieces in pairs. And these pairs shall be the person next to you"
There were some groans in the room while others cheered. While I made no noise and neither did the guy next to me.
"So let me tell you what you will have to do! This is a major assessment so make sure to do your best. Here's the papers"
She hands each table one paper each and I eye it over his shoulder. He sees me and quickly holds it for the both of us. I give him a look before focusing on the paper again.
"You guys will have a month to finish it, that's all"
The whole class started to chatter while me and the guy just kept awkwardly staring at the paper. Suddenly he turns his head to me.
"I'm Kim Taehyung and don't worry, you can leave all the work to me"
He gives me a thumbs up waiting for me to reply but I don't. I couldn't be stuffed. I just give him a simple nod and he tilts his head. He gets out his notebook and starts to scribble something onto it. He shows it to me.
'Are you deaf?'
I frown at him and shake my head.
"Oh so are you mute"
I was about to shake my head again but he cuts me off.
"Ah it's okay it's okay, I have a cousin who's mute. I know sign language"
He starts doing some random hand gestures.
"Do you know what I just said?"
I shake my head and he laughs.
"Me neither"
I grab his notebook and I show it to him after I'm finished.
'You don't have to do sign language, I can hear you'
"Ah okay, but you know a little bit right?"
I shrug. He just nods his head before smiling at me.
"Okay, (l/n) (y/n)"
He points at me then at him and clasps his hands together. He looks at me waiting for an answer. Uncertain of what he said I just nod my head. He gives me a smile that looked like a rectangle and it causes me to smile.
"Ha you can smile!"
I nod at him as he starts to laugh.
I guess this year won't be as bad...
I feel like every book I make the guys are always have that touch of bad boy. But not this time. I'm going to make the squishiest Taehyung ever.
