A pain filled my chest unlike anything I had ever felt before. I clicked the red x on the screen to watch the video disappear. Shawn had told me about the video coming out and I was so excited for him and so proud of him. But then I watched and even though I knew there was a girl in the video, it still hurt to actually watch.
Suddenly my phone began to ring.
"Hello?" I answered without even checking the contact name.
"Hey princess!" I heard his cheery voice making my heart flutter. The pain I had felt instantly gone.
"Oh hey baby." I picked at my fingernails.
"So what do you think?" I immediately knew he was talking about the video.
"It was.. it was great! I'm so proud." I tried to sound as enthusiastic as possible. And I was partially telling the truth. I like the parts with Shawn in them and I was super proud of him but whether it's fake or not, it's just kind of difficult to see him with another girl. Especially knowing he could have any girl and he chose me.
"By the way I'm at your house. Let me in its starting to rain." I jumped up from the couch and opened the door. We both hung up the phone and he stepped inside sliding his shoes and his black leather jacket off.
"Hi." I said as I smiled at him.
"Hi baby. I know you're upset. I know you better than I know myself." He touched my cheek with his large hand.
"Shawn..." I didn't want to ruin his happiness over the video and his celebration of everything because I'm being a stupid clingy girlfriend.
"It's okay baby. I understand. I really do. But I want you to know that absolutely none of those things meant anything. I love you. Not her. I promise." He pulled me into his chest wrapping his strong arms around me.
"God I love you." I spoke. My heart felt like it was going to best out of my chest. A whole year and I'm still this nervous around him.
"Can I spend the night?" He asked as his lifted me up and carried me towards my bedroom.
"Is that even a question?" I asked as I feathered a few kisses across his neck.
"Good. Because we have a lot of Netflix watching to catch up on." He sat me on the bed. "And a very cute date planned tomorrow."
