Hello Ashton. It’s me, your girlfriend. I don’t know why I am writing this but Luke says it could help me. I don’t know how this would help but I guess I’ll find out in time.
They told me you had fallen again. Who do I mean by ‘they’, exactly? I’m talking about your bandmates. Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford. I remember the day so clearly now. It’s burned at the back of my head and I can’t get it out, even though I wish I could.
I was alone at home, expecting you to come here, but when Luke turned up at my door and not you, I was confused. Why was he here and you weren’t? Luke then let himself in and I had followed him inside. I was worried. The expression Luke wore told me I should fear the worse.
Everything started out a little weird. Well it was awkward and painful and I just wanted him to straight out and tell me. But Luke being Luke, he started by asking me questions. Such as:
“Do you remember Ashton’s old problem?”
“The alcohol and drugs one?”
Of course I answered ‘yes’ to both. Remembering how broken and fragile you were when I first met you. By now I had some clue of what Luke could be telling me but I wanted him to say it first. To confirm it himself. After what seemed like ages, he delivered the news:
”Ash has fallen back.”
