It had been a few months since many of the downwolrlders died and Afina still wasn't over the deaths
Afina didn't know what was going on but suddenly it seemed as if Simon wasn't a vampire anymore because he could go out into the sun something Afina missed
Afina sat in front of the window looking out onto the city while playing with her ring. She sighed before moving away from the window seeing the sun start to come up
"Afina, why are you so sad all of a sudden?" Raphael asked wrapping his arms around her waist and she could feel his bare chest since he was on wearing a robe and some sweats
"I didn't realize how much I'd miss the sun until I realized I really can't feel it anymore" Afina said leaning her head on Raphaels chest.
Raphael had also changed somewhat he seemed more like himself and seemed more like he was getting over a drug
Afina still blamed Izzy for it. For getting Raphael addicted to her angel blood
Afina hadn't talked to anyone from the institute since the sword was activated, she thought it would be better to separate herself from her family
Izzy has tried to talk to Afina but she tries her best to avoid talking to everyone especially her. After everything that happened with Izzy and Raphael she didn't know if she could actually forgive her like she said she had
"You miss being a Shadowhunter?" He questioned, hurt evident in his voice.
"Of course. I'll always miss it but I love being able to always be with you. But I also miss the outside world and regular food" Afina sighed
"Afina" Raphael said quietly hearing the desperation in her voice
"I miss it so much Raphael" she said her voice cracking as tears filled her eyes and his grip on her tightened
"Maybe you should call Alec or Simon or Izzy" he said handing her, her phone. Afina shook her head making Raphael sigh
Raphael let go of her a opened the phone before calling the first person he saw which happened to be her real brother
"Simon, i know you don't want to talk to me but Afina needs to talk please" Raphael looked over at Afina and handed her the phone
Afina hesitated before taking the phone and putting it up to her ear
"Afina?" Simon asked and the tears Afina tried not to shed fell down her face
"Simon I'm sorry" she sobbed holding her head.
"Afina what's wrong?" Simon asked worriedly but her only response was more sobs "Afina where are you right now?"
"The hotel" she cried and she heard Simon let out a breath
"I'm on my way" with that Simon hung up the phone
Afina let out shaky breaths as more tears ran down her face and Raphael went to the bathroom to get her a wet washcloth
"Raphael" one of his men said while Raphael walked out kneeling down to Afina and wiping her tears away
"Isabelle, what are you doing here?" Raphael asked standing up but not moving away from Afina who finally looked up to see her sister
"I wanted to apologize, it was a terrible night and I took my anger out on you. You were only trying to save your people" Izzy explained and Afina could see something else behind her eyes
"It's not safe for a Shadowhunter to be at the hotel right now, especially one looking for vampire venom" Raphael said trying to get Izzy to leave until she grabbed his arm
"Raphael I think if I can have a small bite over time I can have less and less" Izzy said her eyes brimming with tears
Afina stood up wiping the stray tears that ran down her cheek while she watched the scene unfold
"It doesn't work like that" Raphael said simply.
"Why? We can manage it, together" Izzy said and Afina set a glare on her sister
"You should go" Raphael said looking behind him slightly to see a fuming Afina who had her phone out
"Simon, ya I'm sorry about earlier you don't need to come over" Afina said turning away from her sister and fiancé
"Are you sure you seemed really upset" Simon said cautiously
"Ya I'm sorry just caught up in the moment, I'll talk to you later Si, I gotta go" before Simon could respond Afina hung up and turned back to the pair to see Izzy getting really close to Raphael
Izzy tempted Raphael with her blood but he still said no infuriating Izzy as she shoved him back
"I thought you cared about me Raphael but I guess I was wrong!" Izzy shouted and she looked like she was about to lose her mind
"It's because I care!" That's all Afina had to hear to know Raphael still cared
More tears filled her eyes and she quickly ran out of the hotel running to somewhere she didn't know
Afina ran down the streets desperate to get away. It had been night time and no one seemed to be around
Afina looked behind her before she ran into a person making her stumble back
"Please don't hurt me" she begged holding her hands up expecting it to be someone else until she heard the soothing voice of Alec
"Afina? What's going on?" He asked placing his hands on her shoulder before pulling her into a hug and she rested her head on his chest
"I'm trying to escape" Afina muttered but Alec still heard. He pulled her away and looked at her with worried eyes
"Escape what?" He asked and Afina became anxious to leave
"The hotel" she said before looking behind her then back at her brother
"Why? Aren't you and Raphael ok?" Alec asked confused as he watched his sister switch from foot to foot
"Afina!" They heard someone yell behind Afina and they both went to look however when she knew Alec wasn't paying attention she ran
She hid in an alleyway as more tears fell down her cheeks, she looked down at her ring on her finger and held it close to her chest
"How did this happen?" She cried sinking to the ground.
"Why Izzy?" She sobbed putting her knees up to her chest
"Afina?" She heard someone whisper and she looked up to see her train wreck of a sister making her scoff
"Leave me alone Isabelle" Afina said coldly glaring at her making Izzy flinch
"This is Sebastian" she said ignoring what Afina said
"I don't care" she said standing up to walk away until she felt a shaky hand grab her wrist.
"Please Afina I'm really sorry" she said her voice begging for forgiveness
"If you were sorry why'd you come to the hotel in the first place?" Afina asked yanking her hand away harshly before walking away

Alec had walked into Magnus' place showing him what he and his team got off the new demon when Raphael came
"No! You hurt both my sisters" Alec growled glaring daggers at the vampire
"You saw Afina?" Raphael asked taking a step forward
"Ya and all she told me was that she's trying to escape the hotel but I knew it wouldn't be surprising if she was just trying to escape you" Alec said
"That's not why I'm here, Izzy is in danger" Raphael said making Alec scoff
"Aren't you Afinas Fiancé? How great you are. I know Izzy is in danger she's suffering withdrawals because of you!" Alec yelled
After Raphael explained what happened Alec snatched the address from his hand and both he and Magnus left to find Izzy
"Afina im so sorry" Raphael said after the pair had left

Simon was setting up his equipment when Raphael appeared right behind him scaring Simon to death.....again
"Sorry, you said you were having a day" Raphael said suspiciously
After a moment of Simon trying not to freak out that Raphael knew what he was he finally gave in
"Ya I can walk in the sun so what? Not everyone needs to know though" Simon said crossing his arms
"How'd it happen?" Raphael asked
"Not sure really" Simon said when Raphael got up close to him
"This isn't the kind of thing you should be keeping to yourself" Raphael said darkly
"That's all I know! Why do you wanna know anyway?" Simon asked
"Let's just say I have more then a few reasons" Raphael said shrugging his shoulders
"Let me guess one of those reasons is Afina?" Simon asked and without an answer as Raphael sped away

After it started getting dark Afina decided to go back to the hotel.
She sat on Raphaels bed waiting for him to get back. She took the ring off her finger and looked at it.
"Afina" she heard and looked up to see a guilty looking Raphael
"Raphael" she sighed standing up from her spot before holding her hand up stopping Raphael from getting closer
"Afina I'm so so sorry" he apologized and Afina held out her hand
Raphael but his hand under hers and Afina dropped the object in his hand and he looked to see the ring
"Raphael. I'm sorry I don't know why I said yes when I knew you still care for Izzy" Afina said quietly taking a step back
"Afina please it's been a few months I've gotten over it please" Raphael begged but Afina shook her head
"I love you, I do but it's not time for us to get engaged. This is the very very last chance I'm giving you. I'll stay with you but we still need time" Afina explained and Raphael nodded
"Are you staying here tonight?" He asked and Afina shrugged
"I don't know I need to call someone" she said walking away making Raphael sigh and look down at the ring
"Damn it Izzy" Raphael hissed having a mental fight with himself about ever getting involved with Izzy

Afina clicked on the name and she waited as her phone rang
"Hello?" She heard Alec ask making her smile.
"Alec" she said and she could just see the emotions running through him
"Afina why haven't you called? I've been worried ever since I saw you the other night!" Alec explained happy to finally hear his other sisters voice
"I know and I'm so sorry I didn't explain" Afina said and she could hear Alec chuckle
"Afina it's ok, just tell me now" Alec said and Afina let out a shaky breath
"Me and Raphael were engaged until I found out he still cared for Izzy" Afina said keeping the story short
"Are you kidding me?! Can he not choose?!" Alec yelled frustrated making Afina laugh lightly
"Guess not im giving him one more chance though. I just needed to hear your voice again, you are the only sibling that I actually care to speak with right now" Afina said
"What about Simon? And Jace?" Alec asked
"Simon treats me as if I'm a burden, Jace won't even talk to me" Afina said and Alec sighed
"Do you think he hates you?" Alec asked
"No, but I think since I'm a vampire he doesn't really have a need to speak with me" she said
"That's not true Afina. I have to go now but I'll call you later ok?" Alec asked and Afina nodded before realizing he couldn't see her
"Ya" with that the line went dead and Afina sighed before going back into the room
"Are you leaving?" Raphael asked seeing her re-enter the room
"No I'm not" she said smiling weakly before getting into the bed
And falling asleep with mixed emotions
