Ridiculous.

What made boys think that they had the power to do whatever they wanted? If I had a choice, I'd throw a brick at each and every boys' face who thought they owned the world, who thought they owned women.

"Was it good?" Jiao asked.

"Any butterflies?" Tori.

"Did you swallow his saliva?" Hailee.

I raised a questioning eyebrow in Hailee's direction who smirked mischievously before wiggling her eyebrows.

"You're fucking gross."

"I'd be gross for Matt anytime," she shot back, sighing dreamily as Jiao and Tori cringed and groaned in irritation.

"You're coming tonight, yes?" Jiao questioned me, placing a hand on my shoulder as I pulled up in front of her two-storey house.

I shrugged. "We'll see."

Once I dropped my friends off at their homes and finally drove into the driveway of my own house, I realised that the sun was already setting and it was already getting dark. A gentle, cold breeze brushed against my exposed flesh as I shivered and wrapped my pink leather jacket around my shoulders tightly before locking my car.

"I'm home!" I shouted just as I entered the wide foyer, throwing my school bag to the side before dropping my car keys on the small but tall coffee table that was sitting randomly in the centre of the room.

"We have guests for dinner!" my mother shouted from the dining room.

I cocked an eyebrow and opened the front door again, shoving my head outside and noticed that there was another unfamiliar car parked in the driveway. I sighed and cursed under my breath before closing the front door again, turning on my heels as I plastered on a sweet smile. I strutted towards the dining room where there was a long glass table that was able to fit two families with a large chandelier hanging in the middle of the room.

"This is my eldest daughter," my mother voiced as she stood up, plastering on a sweet smile that looked so alike to my own and walked over towards me as she guided me towards a spare chair beside my sister. "She's the sweetest girl."

I coughed before muttering underneath my breath, "bullshit."

My mother must've heard because she gave me a death glare as I sighed and avoided eye contact with her and straightened up my back before allowing my eyes to drink in every family member that was sitting on the other side of the table.

There was a man who was sitting on the opposite side of my father with his blonde hair sleeked back smoothly and his intense blue eyes concentrated on the dish in front of him. Next, was a woman who sat opposite of my mother with her dirty blonde hair and sharp green eyes that looked like she never had any fun in her life at all. A male sat on the opposite side of my sister who looked around the age of twenty-one with his blonde hair and dark green eyes that he must've inherited from his mother. He looked like one of those people who fooled around with women and then left them after a one-night stand.

As I moved my eyes across to the person who sat opposite of me, my heart and stomach dropped to hell as my eyes widened in shock. The figure had a familiar smirk on his face as if challenging me to say something that would humiliate myself.

He had blonde hair and sharp blue eyes, just like his father as he propped his elbow on the dining table, looking at me in amusement. I couldn't help but clench my fist and my jaw as I cleared my throat uncomfortably.

"Since you've arrived late," my mother voiced as if it was to embarrass me or make me feel bad. "This is Cayden Nixon, the eldest son of the Nixon family." My mother gestured to the male who looked like his mother.

"This is Ashton Nixon," my mother introduced as she gestured to the figure opposite of me. "He's the same age as you, seventeen-years-old, I believe."

"My daughter couldn't make it but she wishes that she were here right now," the woman said sternly as she nodded her head in my direction before resuming to the conversation she was having with my father.

Huh.

"So, what's your name?" Cayden asked me as he raised an eyebrow in my direction.

I grinned. "Luna."

"It's actually Aurora," Ashton chipped in as I almost kicked him in the balls under the table.

"I prefer Luna."

"We call her Aurora at home," my sister spoke up and I couldn't help but allow my eye to twitch as I looked over to my sister who was making lovey-dovey eyes to Cayden.

"Huh, I like it," Cayden complimented, a smirk making its way to his lips. "I heard you and Ash go to the same school."

I shrugged, nodding nonchalantly. "Mhm."

He raised an eyebrow. "What's he like?"

Now it was my turn to smirk as I flipped my dirty blonde hair behind my shoulder. "Well, I haven't really noticed him since he's pretty much irrelevant but I hear from other people that he's always skipping school."

"I don't skip school," Ashton defended, eyeing me suspiciously as he rubbed his jaw, closing his eyes briefly in pain. Just as he removed his hand, I couldn't help but laugh at the purple bruise that had already formed on his jaw was exposed.

I ignored him and returned my attention to Cayden who found the conversation amusing. "Anyway, what happened to your jaw, Ashton?"

Ashton scoffed, shaking his head as he leant back into his seat and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Tell me, brother," Cayden pressed on. "I want to know."

Ashton sent me a death glare as I only winked in return. "I...I ran into a walking metal pole when a lunatic girl was chasing me."

Was he calling me a pole?

I smirked. "Are you sure you didn't get beaten up by a girl?"

Cayden chuckled under his breath as he turned to me. "Please, no one has ever dared to slap, let alone punch, Ash."

I raised an eyebrow. "I beg to differ."

Cayden studied me closely as if trying to rip off any façades I had before he grinned in approval. "It was you."

I feigned a gasp and placed a hand on my chest. "How did you ever know?"

"I like you," Cayden admitted, nodding his head in approval. "You're a brave girl, that's for sure."

In the corner of my eyes, I saw Dakota sigh as she picked her food with her fork and Cayden must've realised because he smirked in her direction and tapped on her hand. Her head shot up so fast, I was surprised she didn't faint as her cheeks blushed a crimson red.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I sighed and took out my phone, reading the group chat that my girls and I had made when we formed our group.

Jiao Bitch: Luna, you're missing out on the sickest party out!!

Tori&Fries: Seriously, you HAVE to come, Luna.

All Hail Queen Lee: What the fuck are you even doing at home? Touching yourself?

I rolled my eyes before shoving my phone back inside my pocket as I cleared my throat and stood up. My chair made a screeching sound on the floor, capturing everyone's attention.

"I have a lot of homework to catch up on," I said, giving the man and woman a smile. "It's really nice to meet you."

The woman smiled as she nodded. "I hope to see you again."

I nodded. "Of course."

With that, I passed by my mother who clenched her jaw and sent me death glares as I blew a kiss to her before walking out of the dining room. I ascended the staircase by two and bolted into my room as I locked my door behind me. I contemplated whether to change into something more sexier but I didn't have much time so I combed through my hair and fixed my makeup.

Like it was an everyday routine, I moved the dark grey curtains to the side, revealing a large window as I slowly and quietly opened it. I looked back at my room again and made sure that the lights were off and made sure that my bed had some pillows underneath it to look like a human being was sleeping.

Old tricks in the book worked all the time on my parents.

I hauled myself out the window as I used the curtains on the inside and pulled it over the window, covering it again. I closed the window quickly and found myself standing on the roof as I looked up at the night sky and genuinely smiled, the bright stars shimmering above me.

"Homework must be going well," a familiar voice spoke up as I flinched in surprise and snapped my head to the side to see Ashton, leaning against the wall with ease, flashing me a smirk. I questioned him with my eyes and he shrugged in response. "I was going to use the bathroom window but then I realised using your sister's one was fucking kickass better."

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I questioned, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I could ask you the same thing," he responded with a wink before jumping off the roof with ease, landing with a perfect stance before turning around and looking up at me. "Come on, I'll catch you!"

"Shut up!" I whispered-shouted.

He shrugged, holding his arms out.

"I can do it myself-"

"We don't have all day, Aurora."

I gritted my teeth out in frustration before closing my eyes for a brief second, taking in a deep breath then jumped off the roof, feeling the thrilling adrenaline rush inside my body. I opened my eyes to see Ashton step to the side with a chuckle before I landed straight on my feet, my hand touching the ground to support my weight as I looked up to see Ashton staring back at me, jaw-dropped.

"Did you think I would believe you when you said that you'll catch me?" I questioned with a scoff as I flipped my hair behind my shoulder and began to stand up.

He smirked, amusement glinting in his blue eyes. "Yes, I mean, all girls would."

"Then you don't know me."

He let out a laugh. "Where are you going?"

I jogged, yes in my stilettos, to my car and jumped into the driver's seat as I turned on the ignition, waiting for the car to start. Just as I realised that the car wasn't starting, I pushed the button again but the engine didn't roar to life. I groaned in frustration and slammed my forehead onto the wheel lightly.

"Forgot your keys?" Ashton questioned as I turned my head back to see him sitting on his motorcycle with his signature smirk, the engine roaring. "I'll give you a ride."

I cocked an eyebrow. "I'm good, I think I'll continue living."

He chuckled. "I'm not a bad driver."

I looked at him suspiciously as I hopped out of my car and sighed, leaning against it for a brief second and the next thing I knew, I found myself walking over to his motorcycle, climbing on top of it before crossing my arms over my chest.

Ashton laughed and shook his head in amusement again before he got off his motorcycle and retrieved his helmet from the front. He placed it on top of my head as his eyes roamed around my face, giving me an approving look before patting the top of the helmet. "Apparently, your life means a lot."

I couldn't help but chuckle as he got onto his bike again before reaching behind him, taking my arms and wrapping it around his waist as my eyes widened in shock. He interlaced my own fingers together on his stomach and roared the engine again.

"Feel blessed, you're feeling my rock hard abs," he whispered.

I rolled my eyes. "All I feel is jelly."

He formed a pout on his lips. "Harsh. Where are we going, the woman made of Steele?"

I raised an eyebrow at his pun. "Did you just make a pun out of my last name?"

He nodded, proud of himself. "Fuck, yes."

"To a party where Jiao lives."

"Ah, that Asian chick."

"Step on it, Nixon."

He smirked. "Brace yourself, we're embarking on a journey with challenges and obstacles."

Huh.
