"Excuse me"
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I jumped turning around to see a shop worker of the small and abandoned local grocery store,
"Is there anything I can help you with today?" She smiled cheerfully
"N-no I'm okay Thankyou"
"Alright, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you its just-
"Where is that?" I asked pointing to a postcard on display,
A picture of a warehouse on the top of a hill.
"Oh that's the old boiler warehouse, it was the main landmark back in the day."
"Is it still in use?"
"Oh no, of course not, no factories don't operate in buildings like that no more, it's just got a wired up fence now,"
"Why is it a postcard"
"As I said it was a landmark back in the day I guess, I dunno why, it's stupid in my opinion, what do you want to know so much about a stupid card Anyways?"
"I'm not sure myself to be honest" I sighed,
"Looks like you need booze, shitty week huh?" She said sorting the
"Yeah, something like that" I sighed rubbing my eyes,
"Well, vodka is on offer, half price"
"Nah I- I stopped drinking"
" aww, good on ya, wish I could do that but I love wine too much" she shrugged.
"Yeah, my uhh partner is helping me stop"
"Ooh got a boy friend?"
"It's not like that, well, it is but it isn't I-
"Complicated, pfft I've been there"
"Yup, complicated."
I picked up the groceries I needed and sat it on the counter,
"I'm Lyla by the way"
"Elise"
"Cute name" she smiled,
"Yours too"
"You from Europe?"
"Sweden actually but I lived in Scotland for a while"
"Nice, i went to university in Sweden"
"Stockholm?"
"Yeah" she smiled cheerfully as usual.
I caught my eye on someone who was heading towards the store.
I new his face.
"Can I hide behind there?"
"Uhh"
"Please?"
She noticed the man walk in and she let me by ducking my head down behind the counter.
"Hello sir I there anything-
"Listen I don't want any hassle just give me a pack of cigarettes and make it snappy" he said with his sickening Swedish accident.
Lyla flashed him a sarcastic smile as she grabbed a box,
He went to go grab an item and slammed it on the counter,
He paid for his things and left.
I shot up,
"Jeez, he's hard work, you know him?"
"What did he buy?"
"Huh?"
"Just now what did he buy" I said in a rush,
"Cigarettes and some garden rope I think"
"F-fuck" my breath hitched as I grabbed my rucksack,
"Woah hey where are you going"
"I have to follow him"
"But you just hid from him!"
"I know! Thankyou I'll talk to you later"
"Bye for now Elise!"
I ran out the store and hopped my motorcycle, quickly putting on my helmet and sped off following his car,
Driving up the hill..

I needed to add another side character so yup her name is lyla.
