I rub my sweaty palms on my jeans trying hard not to look nervous.
I look at the bowl in my hand and then imagine all the possibilities of what she will think of me.

I calm myself and ring the door bell.
"Coming," answered a voice.

I try counting the floors of this building and then compare it to my building.

The door opens revealing a boy.
I wanted to see her *pouts*
"Yes?!" he said not looking at me.
When his gaze moved upward and landed on me,his eyes widen.

I first hid the bowl in my hand which made me look like a beggar and then calmly changed my excuse.
"Do you know Mrs sharma ka ghar kaha hai?"I said being the polite neighbour I am.
I knew there was no Mrs sharma in this building. She lived in my building first floor.

I waved my hand to bring him to the present.
"Yeh!!" he said.
"Mrs. Sharma?? " I asked all innocent raising my brows.
"You-u are the Manik Malhotra nah?" He asked with a shine in his eyes and a smile on his face.

I controlled my rolling emotions and answered.
"Yes?"
"Please, come in," he said and made way for me to enter.
I entered with a small grateful smile and made myself comfortable on the couch.
He brought me a glass of water. I took it mouthing a 'thanks'
All the time he was looking at me, surprised. I began getting uncomfortable and cautions of my actions.
"Tum yaha aakele rehte ho? "I asked him.
I wanted to know who he was to her.
"No! Yeh meri behen ka ghar hai. I came to meet her. She is also a very big fan of yours."

He went to the room and bought a book.

"oh! Mein bhi kitna duffer hu. Aap se kabse baath kar raha hu par aapko naam hi nahi bataya,Abhimanyu murthy.. You can call me Abhi."
I nooded and signed the book.
"Meri behen ke liye bhi please."
"Unse mil ke unhe dedunga." I said shrugging.
"Aap uske liye rookoge yaha? " he asked,gapping.
"No! No! I live in the building opposite to this one."
He stood there in extreme shock,while I continued.
"You can come home anytime now that we are friends you know."
"yeah,sure.." He said shaking hands with me.

Okay, he is actually a nice guy and given the fact that he is her brother I like him even better.

We talked casually and developed a great understanding.
Time passed by and I got a call from cabir. That is when our talks came to a halt.
"Oh! I forgot to tell you Mrs. sharma lives in your building only, first floor. You may have gotten some wrong information. Par aacha hi hua hum dost jo ban gaye." He said and I faked a smile.
"I'll see you then. Bye!" I said and then he asked me a favor which I was more than happy to do

I got ready and looked at my image in the mirror.
Kya karne gaya tha kya kar aaya.
I sighed in disbelief and closed the door behind me.
I reached my destination and glanced at my watch.

Just five minutes more.
Yes! I and abhi had planned to give her a surprise. It's her birthday tomorrow, I mean in just 5 minutes so I'll meet her and surprise her.
She is my big fan and nothing could be better than me wishing her on her birthday.

I heard some voices on the other side of the door.
"Batayo nah kya hua bhai. I know mere birthday ka surprise hai.Who is visiting?Batao na. Please." She said in the most sweetest tone I had ever heard.
I chuckled at her statement.
"Wait nah, only 2 minutes more." Abhi answered.
I stood there ever so excited as if it was my birthday.
As soon as the clock struck 12 I rang the door bell.
She opened the door.
Our eyes met and I knew I was a goner.
She was just like a doll, clad in a pink knee length dress, hair as usual open just the way I like and not to forget her specs which make my heart skip a beat.
She blinked twice and looked at me in complete shock..
I broke our eyelock and said,
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANDINI.. "
and next I was in shock as she fainted.
