What inconsistency: last night he was shouting, "I'm fed up with you! Get away from me!" And the next morning, you wake up next to that same abusive person to find him tightly holding your dick. The ancient story of the [1] cut sleeve says that Emperor Ai awoke to find Dong Xian pressing his sleeve beneath him as he slept, and rather than wake him, he directly cut off the sleeve of his own robe to demonstrate his love.
[T/N: [1] A classic gay story and terms such as "Cut sleeve" (斷袖 ) meaning a gay person, and "passion of the cut sleeve" (斷袖之癖 ) meaning homosexuality, have survived to the present day. Further explanation below.]
But the problem is, Chi Cheng was being held by his dick, and no matter how much it disturbs "big iron head," he won't cut it off.
As a result, he heartlessly tore himself away.
It is not an exaggeration to say he tore himself away. Chi Cheng turned and, looking back, saw hair remaining in that person's hand.
Wu Suo Wei slept until late morning, and by the time he got up, the other person's airplane had already landed in another province. Wu Suo Wei listlessly got up and plodded to the bathroom.
As he brushed his teeth he began to wish regretfully that he had said a few words to Xiao Cu Bao last night: keep a close watch on things for Big Bro and let her get angry-really furious-until she is itching to do something drastic to get you out of the picture, so that all your Big Bro's hard work won't have been wasted.
Later the same morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai's eyes were minutely following Wu Suo Wei's every movement, not because he deliberately meant to, but because it was hard not to stare at Wu Suo Wei's unusual behavior. Every minute he would grind his teeth, every three minutes he would puff out his cheeks, every five minutes he would heave a sigh, every ten minutes he would start pacing in circles.
Jiang Xiaoshuai coughed politely and caught his eye.
Wu Suo Wei, as if waking from a dream, looked at him dazedly and asked, "What's up?"
Jiang Xiaoshuai got right down to the good stuff. "He came last night."
"How did you know?"
With an evil grin he replied, "Look inside the trash, how many used tissues are there. "
Wu Suo Wei, embarrassed, lowered his head and rolled a pen in his hand.
"How much progress did you make?" Jiang Xiaoshuai inquired.
Affecting a nonchalant tone, Wu Suo Wei said, "The progress is good, the two of them are going away on holiday together."
Jiang Xiaoshuai groaned and swatted Wu Suo Wei's belly with the back of his hand. "You're bummed, right?"
"Me? Bummed?" He immediately put on a show of making the best of things. "Things are moving in exactly the expected direction. I would guess this trip was intentionally arranged. His mom saw my texts, got anxious, and started itching for a daughter-in-law to keep her son on the straight and narrow."
Jiang Xiaoshuai suddenly remembered something.
"One day when I was out buying medicine, I thought I saw Yue Yue and a middle-aged woman shopping. I don't know if it was Chi Cheng's mother, but in any event she seemed like she was used to calling the shots."
"That was probably her." Wu Suo Wei's eyes narrowed. "It seems my two-pronged approach is bearing fruit: on the one side, get Yue Yue riled up, then on the other, have Chi Cheng provoke his mother. With both women stressed out, their relationship has to become close. As a result of Chi Cheng worrying his mother, she is bound to give Yue Yue the illusion that she is a daughter-in-law. Once Yue Yue is confident that she's in with the family, she'll definitely go after Xiao Cu Bao."
Jiang Xiaoshuai's tone of voice was cautious. "Are you sure?"
"I know her too well," Wu Suo Wei snorted. "As soon as she smells success, she'll immediately relax and let down her guard."
"Then won't she start now?" Jiang Xiaoshuai asked.
Wu Suo Wei's eyes showed that he was very sure. "No, she is not so foolish. If Xiao Cu Bao has an accident on holiday with just the two of them, Chi Cheng with immediately suspect her."
The more Jiang Xiaoshuai thought about it, the more entertaining it became.
"In other words, this holiday is a good opportunity to escalate the conflict."
As he said this, Wu Suo Wei's expression became complicated.
"Definitely. On a normal day, it might not bother her so much, but once there's a chance for them to be alone together romantically, Yue Yue will loathe Xiao Cu Bao's every movement. This is the opposite of the brewing process where the longer it takes, the closer it is to being done. In this case, the sooner she erupts, the closer she is to being done in."
"So," Jiang Xiaoshuai deliberately paused. "You want them to enjoy the holiday. The later they return, the better, right?"
"Bull's eye."
Wu Suo Wei waved good bye. "I'm going out to check out the market. The snakes need to be sold, and I'm ready for a new lease on life." Out he strode with a steady step and straight posture, his retreating figure confident and at ease.
He had gone less than 100 meters when all the grievances he had been holding in exploded.
Chi Cheng, fuck you, you bastard!
[1] Emperor Ai was one of the emperors from Han Dynasty. He was well known for his homosexual relationship with Dong Xian. Dong Xian was a mere politician that won his attention and then became a supreme commander of armed forces, one of the most powerful officials. His family also received a favor from the emperor, he moved to a luxurious residence near the imperial palace with his wife and his sister became the highest imperial consort. "Cut sleeve" (斷袖 ) or "passion of the cut sleeve" (斷袖之癖 ) came from an incident where Emperor Ai woke up from a nap, saw Dong Xian was still sleeping and his sleeve was stuck under Dong Xian. He cut off his sleeve to allow Dong Xian to continue sleeping without any disturbance rather than waking him up. This indicate how important Dong Xian to Emperor Ai as imperial robe was exclusively for emperor. Emperor Ai also ordered the throne to be passed to Dong Xian once he died but it was ignored by the imperial counselors. Emperor Ai died from illness, Dong Xian and his wife commit suicide and his family was exiled.
