Both stared coldly at each other.While one's eyes held hatred, other's held the hurt.
"Assalamualaikum" Haya greeted, tearing her gaze away from him
"Walaikumsalam dear" Sabreena greeted back smilingly
She got up and engulfed Haya in a bone crashing hug.
"Oh i missed you so much darling" Sabreena said lovingly
"I also missed you a lot!! How have you been?"asked Haya
"Oh i can see how much you missed me.Thats why you came to meet me" Sabreena folded her arms over her chest and narrowed her eyes at Haya
"I am sorry Sabreena aunty.I was busy with university.I am sooo Sorry" Haya pouted
"Its alright.I am forgiving you not because of this cute pout of yours but because you are a directionor" replied Sabreena
"Oh my God!!! Do you also like one direction?" Haya squealed and Sabreena nodded her head in 'yes'
"We will be the greatest team that the world has ever seen" said Sabreena and then both high-fived
"Guess what? It reminded me of the song" exclaimed Haya
"Same here" Sabreena said and then both started singing

"Stop it!!" Shouted Shahana and everyone looked at her
"We aren't here to talk about my so called son in laws or sing their songs" Shahana frowned
"You would be the first mother in law in the history of world who hates to talk about her future son in laws" Haya joked
"Well i am sure there are much more interesting topics to talk about other than this" replied Shahana, folding her arms over her chest
All this while, Amaan quietly kept staring at Haya, the girl who was once his best friend, the girl he spent his childhood with and the girl he now hated.
14 year old Haya and 16 year old Amaan:
Their exams had finally finished and Haya wanted to go out for ice-cream, so she dragged Amaan with herself in order to have ice-cream and spend some time together.They both walked to ice-cream parlour and after buying their favourite ice -creams, they decided to take a walk
"So how are you doing?" Asked Haya, licking her ice-cream
"What kind of question is that?" Asked Amaan
"What?It is a simple question" Haya replied, shrugging her shoulders
"You act like you are seeing me after ages"Amaan chuckled
"You can say that because we are spending time together after a month almost" said Haya
"You are right.We were so busy with exams but now that we have got rid of them, we will spend a lot of time together" Amaan replied while typing on his phone
He kept walking whilst chatting with Daila without realising that Haya has stopped walking with him.When he realised,he turned around and saw her standing still a few steps behind him
He walked back to her and asked " why did you stop walking?"
"You really think its because of exams that we are spending less time together?" Haya frowned
"Is their supposed to be any other reason" Asked Amaan
"Yes their is and its because of this" Haya said angrily and pointed towards his phone
"My phone? " He scrunched his eyebrows in confusion
"No.Because of the one you are chatting with?" She said
"Daila? What does Daila have to do with it?" Amaan frowned
"Nothing.Nothing at all.You forgot my birthday because of her but she has nothing to do with it.You spend whole day with her forgetting about me but she has nothing to do with it.We are here together but even at this time you are chatting with her but she has nothing to do with it.Right?" She snapped angrily at him
"You have an issue with Daila? You think she is coming in between us?" Amaan asked, surprised by Haya's outburst
"No Amaan she isn't coming in between us but you are sidelining me because of her.I don't have problem with your relationship but can't we just be like we used to be? Can't you simply be my best friend and not her boyfriend when you are with me?" She asked in a disappointed tone
Amaan realised that he was really ignoring his friendship with Haya after Dalia came in his life and he unintentionally was hurting her
Putting his phone in his pocket, he sighed " I am sorry!! I promise this will never happen again"
Haya shifted uncomfortably in her seat, irritated by Amaan's continuous gaze at her.Finally fed up, she raised her eyebrow angrily at him
Amaan looked away finally coming out of his trance.He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't realize he was staring at her shamelessly.
That day, he thought that she was just sad because he wasn't spending time with her but now, he despised her for ruining everything, their friendship and his relationship with Daila.
"So we were thinking of going out.What do you guys think?"Sabreena, who was till now busy chatting with Shahana asked Amaan and Haya
"You two don't need to take permission from us for going out" said Amaan
"Not only us.Both of you are also coming.We will have our dinner outside" Shahana said
"Mom i don't---" Haya trailed off when her mother passed her a look which meant 'YOU REALLY THINK YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE'
"This is child abuse" Haya whined
"You are not child anymore" replied Shahana
"Ok then..adult abuse"Haya said
"Whatever floats your boat but you are coming with us" Shahana said and then turned to Amaan "You are coming with us habibi.right?" Shahana asked in a sweet tone
"I don't mind Darling" Amaan winked at Shahana
"Is your son planning to be my new father?" Haya whispered in Sabreena's ear
"I hope not" Sabreena whispered back in horror and then both started snickering gaining confused glares from Amaan and Shahana

Haya opened the door of back seat and was about to sit beside her mother when Sabreena popped out of nowhere and got inside the car
"Habibti why don't you take the front seat? We both have lot of important stuff to talk about" Sabreena said in a sweet tone
"How much you both have to talk? You guys were talking continuously from past 3 hours" Haya groaned
"You can't talk about 6 years in just 3 hours" said Shahana
Defeated, She opened the door of front seat and popped in
Frowning, Amaan bought engine to life and they drove off
After 10 minutes, they reached to a beautiful park at the lakeside
Haya climbed on the barrier around the lake and kept staring at water while dangling her feet in air.Somehow, water always attracted her.
Sitting there, she got lost in her own thoughts.It had been so difficult for her to ignore Amaan and act all funny so her mother won't doubt.But how long would she be able to do it? She didn't want to answer Shahana's 'what' and 'why' kind of questions for she herself didn't know anything except that he hates her now and that certainly wasn't the valid answer at all.
"You mother said you don't make friends anymore.Is that true?" Amaan's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.She looked at him and saw him standing beside her.She stared at him whilst he climbed the barrier and seated himself beside her, leaving a gap in between.
Preferring not to answer his question, she looked away from him
"Didn't you tell your mother that you don't deserve a friend?" She stared at him for few seconds, but again didn't bother to answer
"I hate you" Amaan said.This time she smiled and replied " Tell me something i don't know"
"There is nothing to say anymore but yaa i have something for you" He said and pulled out snickers from his jeans pocket which Sabreena forced him to buy for Haya and forwarded it towards her
"Thanks but i don't like them anymore" Haya said
"Oh Habibi!!! You still remember to buy snickers for her." They looked behind and saw Shahana and Sabreena
"Such a sweet boy" Shahana said and pinched his cheek
"Yeah i still remember but she doesn't like them anymore" Amaan said looking at Haya
"Who said so? I everyday pick up its wrappers from her room. She eats them like a bear" said Shahana
"Really Mom?" Haya frowned at her mother who ignored her
Amaan smirked and again offered her the chocolate which Haya accepted grumpily
"Now come on lets have dinner somewhere" said Shahana
"Mum can't we have dinner at home.I am really tired and i have university to attend tomorrow" Haya pleaded
Before Shahana could oppose, Sabreena spoke up "Its Ok habibti.Come on Shahana we will cook together at home"
"You don't know her she is a drama queen" Shahana frowned
"Mum i really have to attend university tomorrow"Haya whined
"Oh don't worry darling, we will go home.By the way, how is your university going?" Sabreena asked while they walked towards the car
"Have you seen titanic?" Asked Haya
"Ofcorurse!!"
"Sadder than that" They both laughed while Amaan and Shahana had an unbelievable look on their faces
Leave it to Haya to drag one direction in everything!!!
