Chapter 12.

May 15, 2013

I walked toward Ms. Marshall's school of dance and breathed in the fresh spring air. I skipped up the steps and and As I walked in I looked around for my favourite face in the universe. I barely saw him before he pulled me in and wrapped his arms around me.

"Edi!" I squeaked in surprise.

"You look stunning today." He replied with a quick kiss.

"You're back!" I wrapped my arms around him before reaching up for another kiss. "You taste good."

"New lip chap, want another taste?" He said before ducking his head to kiss me once again. As he pulled away I took a deep breath to steady myself. He seemed to notice and gave me a bit more space.

"How was your trip?" I asked.

"Good, I did lots, but I missed you. I should take you for the next trip as a good luck charm!" Edi's green eyes lit up with his brilliant idea and I had to laugh.

"We need to get changed, Mariah will be waiting for her stars." I leaned into him for a second, but as he was just about to give me a small kiss I pulled back and darted toward the change room.

"You are such a tease!" He yelled across the room. I tossed him a smirk before I slipped through the door. I quickly changed from my jeans to my tank top, yoga pants and ballet slippers. As I was hurrying into the studio, I saw Edi running out of the boys change room.

"Sorry I'm late Mariah!" I called as I walked into the studio.

"Same here." Edi said smoothly walking in behind me.

"Next time, could you wait until after the lesson to have your little make out session?" Mariah asked glaring at us.

"Sure thing boss, but I do have to admit, it is a good warm up, really gets your heart going." Edi quipped back. I barely glanced behind me as I smacked him in the chest. I stalked off to where Blaire was stretching and I plopped down beside her.

"You seem happy to have him back, he's been gone for almost three days, how did you not die without him?" Blaire said in a mocking tone.

"That is very good question." I glanced over to Edi and caught him staring at me. I gave him a quick smile before I turned back to Blaire.

"You guys are like love sick puppies, how long have you been dating now?" She asked.

"Eight months." I sighed, the best six months of my life.

"Only eight months? It seems like you guys have been together for like forever. I think you guys are honestly soul mates."

"Sometimes I think so too." I ducked my head to hide my smile because really, I knew without a doubt that we were going to end up together. The way we could read each other was amazing and we were so in sync that I almost couldn't believe it sometimes.

The rest of the practice went by in a blur and before I knew it Edi and I were making plans for hot chocolates after dance.

As I left the change room, I walked straight for Edi. He took my bag as usual and then slipped his hand into mine.

"So, Mariah told us to save our make out session for after the lesson, she basically told us to make out. We would be disobeying her if we did not kiss." He said with a wink.

"Really Edi? Really? Did you have to go there?" I shook my head in amused disgust. "You could have just told me I looked beautiful, or that I'm the best dancer ever..." I hinted trailing off.

"Of course, that is what I meant. Did you do something different with your hair because you look like an angel today, and you were dancing like one too." Edi gave me a cheeky little smile knowing he just scored a couple extra points.

"Thanks, by the way, can you give me a ride home today, Marisa dropped me off, so I am stuck here without you." I said pulling him toward his red Audi. "Payment might be included." I added. I leaned against his car and grabbed his tie to pull him up against me. Edi smiled and gently pinned me against the frame of his new Audi R8.

I pulled his tie and brought his face closer until he finally touched his lips to mine. He kissed me slowly at first, but I knew that he wanted more. I bit his lip and felt him loose it a bit. His hands tightened in my hair and pulled the slightest bit. I moaned and he pushed harder against me, grinding a bit as he moved. I pulled away grasping for air and Edi did too.

"Did you miss me or something? You were gone for a whole three days." I smiled at him and ran my fingers through his black and purple hair.

"I missed you more than anything and I meant it about coming with me next time. Just think about it." He brushed a strand of hair out of my face.

"Edi, I couldn't-"

"It would be no trouble at all, we would be taking my family's jet, it wouldn't cost us a thing to bring you."

"No, I can't go for other reasons-"-because if I go I'm putting my whole family at the risk of exposure. It was too big a risk for too little gain.

"Reasons that you can't tell me?" Edi asked.

"Yes." I looked away knowing that he hated the fact that I wouldn't tell him. When I looked back at him, his eyes looked sad. I had been delaying telling him for months now.

"Fine, but I really did miss you." He whispered with his breath tickling my ear. After a moment his lips pressed against the tender skin of my neck. As he trailed his kisses back to my mouth, his hands found their way around my waist.

"I love you." Edi said

With a sigh I pushed him off me, "Get in the car." I stood beside my door and waited for him to open it. The last time I had opened my own car door while he was in sight, I got a half hour lecture on, 'How men have forgotten chivalry because women no longer expect it.' I slid into his car and while he was walking around to his door I took as many deep breaths as I could. Mostly because his car smelled amazing, but also to calm myself before I told him the truth.

Edi slipped into the driver's seat and gave me a puzzled look. "What was that for?"

"Take me home." Was all I said. The entire half hour drive home I was silent. I was thinking of my arguments and how I would persuade my family and Karen to let me tell Edi about us. When he pulled up in front of our house I leaned across the car and gave Edi a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for the ride!" I said opening the door.

"Are you mad at me?" Edi asked as I was half way out of the car.

"No, not at all." I paused beside the car waiting for his reply.

"Prove it." He let the faint trace of a smirk cross his face. I sighed and got back in the car. I turned to him and grabbed his tie pulling him toward me. I pressed our lips together letting all the pent up feelings from the last three days of missing him spill into our kiss. I pulled him closer and he twisted his fingers into my hair. I moaned and felt my way down the side of his seat until I came across the adjuster. I pushed his seat all the way back before I pulled away the tiniest bit. I carefully crawled onto his lap and straddled his legs. I kissed him again and my breath caught in my throat as his hands trailed down and started playing with the edge of my shirt. His fingers brushed my stomach and caressed my skin. My heart was pounding and my head was spinning, the small circles Edi was drawing on my stomach tingled with every touch. Finally, I pulled away gasping for breath. I leaned against Edi unable to hold myself steady.

After a minute, I pulled away and softly said, "I am not mad at you." I gave him a quick kiss on the lips before I opened his door and climbed out as gracefully as possible. "I will probably come over tonight if that works for you. Ok?"

"Good with me, especially if you show me how not mad you are again." He tacked his signature smirk onto the end which could always make me smile even when I wanted to slap him.

"You are such a perv."

"You like it though." His grin widened when I shut the door in his face. I turned on my heel and heard him roll down his window. "You didn't deny it!" He laughed.

"Shut up!" I stomped up to my house and went inside without turning back. His laughing followed me all the way until the door was firmly closed.

I shook my head to clear it and prepared for my discussion my with my family.

"Hey guys, I'm home!" I called out taking a deep breath. I wrinkled my nose in disgust at the small of something burning. I kicked off my shoes and hurried to the kitchen. I saw the pot on the stove with what looked to be spaghetti that had boiled off all the water and burned to the bottom of the pot. I quickly turned off the burner and dumped the pot in the sink with some cold water.

"Hello? Is anyone even home?" I called out. When only silence answered me I knew something was wrong.

Very wrong.
