envelopedwriting  for the writing prompt

"Bored!" Sherlock called, swiftly standing up from his laying position on the sofa and pulling a revolver from his pajama waist band.

"Ah ah ah!" John told him standing quickly in front of Sherlock and taking the revolver from his hands and removing the bullets into his hand and then putting them on the coffee table, "you are not shooting the walls!" John told him sternly.

Sherlock groaned and flopped into his chair with an exasperated sigh, flailing his arms out to the sides showing his full wing span.

"Look, what would you like to do?" John asked, slowly walking to stand in front of Sherlock, Sherlock looked up at John slowly meeting his gaze.

"Enlighten me, Doctor Watson" Sherlock said with a smirk, closing his eyes and leaning back into his chair.

"Oh I dunno, we could go for a walk?" John suggested expecting the detective to wave off his idea with a simple flick of the wrist.

Sherlock looked up at him again, then out the window, the sun blaring through in rays that penetrated the darkness in the corners of the flat. Sherlock stood and walked to fetch his coat, slipping one arm through and then moving onto the next.

"You can't wear your pajamas!" John chuckled as Sherlock tried pulling his leather shoes on with his pajamas, socks completely forgotten.

"Why ever not?" Sherlock asked genuinely confused and looking down at his slim figure wearing a loose grey t-shirt and blue striped pajama bottoms.

"People might talk" john warned him.

"Oh, people do little else" Sherlock said with a sigh collapsing back onto he sofa, yet again public opinion making him constantly have to change who he really was.

John studied his friend, he didn't honestly mind Sherlock in his pajamas if it meant he was happy. "C'mon" John said his voice cheery with a smile across his lips. He gently grabbed Sherlocks coat covered sleeve and pulled him up, taking him back over to the stairs banister, unhooking Sherlocks scarf and swinging it over Sherlocks neck and looping it through itself.

"I thought I had to change--" Sherlock muttered clearly confused, John just laughed, gently taking the detectives hand and guiding him down the steps and into the sunlight once outside the door.

"Arghh! It's bright! John I can't see!" Sherlock said shielding his face from the light produced by the sun that illuminated the usual grey sky into a gentle pastel blue, still mingling with the pollution of London air.

"It's light, it's not going to hurt you!" John laughed, "are you not telling me something Sherlock?"

Sherlock looked at him, confusion written across his face, his brows furrowed. "Like w-what?" Sherlock asked slightly scared John may have noticed.

"Your a vampire aren't you?" John asked bursting into giggles at the strange look on Sherlocks face.
"Oh c'mon, let's get going"

Sherlock obliged and stood in step next to John, who walked with his arms swinging in his soldier like way, Sherlock couldn't help but stare. He felt a blush creep up his neck and face when John caught him staring.

"What Sherlock?" John asked, noticing the slight pink tinge creeping along Sherlocks pale nose. John smiled at his companion who looked at the floor slightly. John couldn't help but wander if he was experiencing the same feelings that John was suffering from. John doubted it.

They continued to walk and John caught Sherlock staring a couple more times and noticed the blush deepen each time. John smiled to himself.

"Really Sherlock? What?" John said his voice pretending to be annoyed but smiling anyway.

"W-what--n-nothing" Sherlock stuttered, 'damn sentiment' he thought to himself.

"You keep staring at me when you think I'm not looking" John said with a smile.

"Just you being all like a soldier, the way you walk and stand--normal to be curious isn't it?" Sherlock asked uncertainly, taking in Johns bright blue eyes that were sometimes hazel in the lighting of the flat. Their icy warmth sucking him in making him want to grab John and claim him as his, make him unreachable to anyone else.

"I don't do that" John defended. "This is my normal look"

"Yes Watson. It is" Sherlock smirked again, a gentle blush creeping up his and Johns face at his words, reminding them of the case "the hound of Baskerville" when John had said something similar to Sherlock but now their positions had switched.

"Shut up" John laughed, grabbing Sherlocks sleeve and pulling him towards a park gate that was clearly locked.

"John it's locked" Sherlock informed him.

"You like soldier me, right?" John asked cheekily, his eyes glinting mischievously in the now setting sun, lighting his face in a gentle orange glow.

Sherlock stuttered, "err, I uh-", John just chuckled.

"Now how do you propose we get in Mr Holmes?" John asked him.

"I would pick the lock but my kits at home, I've only got my basic stuff on me at the moment. We could find a way through or climb over." Sherlock suggested still uncertain of Johns plans.

"Clever you, my thoughts precisely" John said rubbing his hands together. He then turned back to the tall gate and pulled himself over with ease, his height not seeming to affect his agility.

Sherlock watched in awe as Johns arm muscles flex, he wasn't wearing a jumper just a shirt which he had rolled up the sleeves of. John jumped the last meter down, his limp completely gone from their first case together.

"Right, your turn" John said through the fence. Sherlock nodded and then being extremely agile made his way up to the top of the fence, a few meters high up off the floor.

Sherlocks stomach clenched, his chest tightened as he looked down at the space between his dangling legs and the solid ground beneath, "I can't do it john" Sherlock gasped, too many memories of the fall had actually given him a fear of heights.

"It's alright sherl" John called up to him, "jump and I promise you, I will catch you" John assured him, "close your eyes and on the count of three deal?"

Sherlock nodded, his eyes tight shut, and John started to count.

"One"

"Tw--" Sherlock jumped unexpectedly and his eyes held tight shut he couldn't see but he could feel that moment that felt like flying but he knew he had no control over gravity.

He landed in someone's arms though, and noticing that it was his blogger holding him he held onto John tightly, his long fingers clasping around Johns muscled arms and one hand laying on Johns chest. His breathing calmed and John continued to hold him off the ground, one arm around the back of Sherlocks shoulders and another under the back of his knees.

"It's alright sherl, I've got you" John whispered, placing a gentle kiss on the detectives forehead because he couldn't use his arms to comfort him. Sherlock froze but then melted into Johns arms, letting John hold him and feeling safe in Johns company. He felt--home.

"You feeling better? How are you?" John asked gently, standing the detective next to him and stroking Sherlocks hair out of his eyes.

"Feels like home" Sherlock whispered more to himself than John. "Thankyou John" he said, raising his voice this time, trembling slightly.

"Anything for you William Sherlock Scott Holmes" John whispered into the air letting the words find their way to Sherlocks sensitive ears.
He then gently took Sherlocks trembling hand in his own making Sherlocks cheeks flush scarlet like the winning card set.

They continued into the park, hand in hand, bees buzzing back to their hives, one buzzed by Sherlocks face and he swatted it away annoyed, resulting in a swarm suddenly appearing.

"Sherlock what have you--Run!" John commanded, soldier voice making him overpower Sherlock as they ran hand in hand. Finally they were away from the angry swarm and collapsed dramatically onto the grass carpeted floor bursting into a fit of giggles. They were still holding hands and Sherlock noticed a now stinging pain in his right hand that John wasn't holding, he lifted it to inspect it and saw that it was red with a single black splinter sticking in deep.

"Erm, I think I got stung John" Sherlock said uncertainly, inspecting his hand close up, curious as to how his skin had become inflamed like that. He then held it up in front of John, having to turn onto his side to reach.

John let go of Sherlocks other hand and gently took the inflamed one, "what am I gonna do with you?" John sighed, a smile tugging at his lips as he pushed himself up with his other arm.

John turned Sherlocks hand over in his, and then looked closer at the bee sting. The stinger still stuck in his skin, injecting the venom that Sherlock was clearly allergic to. "Might hurt a little" John warned before taking out his credit card from his wallet and holding Sherlocks hand, carefully gliding the card and scooping out the stinger.

Sherlock winced slightly but decided to ignore it. John then squeezed it slightly to get the poison out and then pulled out a compact first aid kit from his pocket and took out an antiseptic wipe which he used to clean the wound and then a tiny plaster.

"There you go, all fixed" John said standing up and pulling Sherlock up with him.

"Like you said, 'tend to wind them up the wrong way'" Sherlock quoted John.

"Bees included it would seem" john chided in poking Sherlock in the ribs and making him squirm.

"They were wasp!" Sherlock defended.

"I beg to differ" John laughed, dragging Sherlock along with him and taking his hand yet again.

John soon reached a nice clearing underneif a tree where he took his coat off and lay it on the floor for him and Sherlock to sit on, overlooking a pond full of swans and ducks.

"Are you still bored?" John asked curiously.

"No, honestly it's been quite-- adventurous" Sherlock spoke, his voice its usual monotone but John could see past this to the man who was actually probably more human than himself.

John smiled at Sherlock who caught his eye and smiled back, his eyes bright and excited full of something John couldn't quite place.

John lay down on the grass and motioned for Sherlock to join him, Sherlock was slightly hesitant so John pulled him by the shoulder so that Sherlocks head rested on Johns shoulder, lying on top of Johns arm which held him protectively. Sherlock blushed slightly, John not seeing the rouge colour creeping across his skin.

"The stars are out" John spoke after a while, darkness had fallen and they'd been out for hours unknowing of how the time had flown. Sherlock studied the little silver dots that scattered the blue blanket over them, it was amazing.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Sherlock whispered, the stars reflecting on his crystal eyes, already like galaxies.

"Yeah" John whispered back, no longer looking at the stars but down at the detective, a whole universe in his eyes, his skin pale and glowing like the moon and his black hair more entrancing than the black sheet that was the night sky, falling in soft waves over his head and ending in little curls, like the flick of an artist paintbrush. John couldn't help but wander if his form had been sculpted by god himself, inspired by the most beautiful pieces of the universe.

"John?" John was cut out of his daydream and focused his attention on the detectives voice, humming to show he was listening.

"You've been staring at me for four minutes and thirty two seconds, what's the matter?"

Johns eyes widened slightly, not knowing he had been obvious. "Just you, so innocent and fragile but you put on this mask that only I can see through, it's just-- your-a-amazing." John stuttered out the last part, he was slowly freeing his feelings for Sherlock like the butterflies that had been building up in his stomach, each one fluttering off but facing obstacles on the way.

"I'm not amazing John" Sherlock muttered, Johns eyes widened and he placed his hand gently on Sherlocks arm, gently rubbing up and down.

"What! Don't ever say that around me, i revolve around you. You are literally my life" John told him, all the while striking Sherlocks side and pulling Sherlock close to him. Sherlock blushed and shivered slightly, not from the cold but from the thought that someone as perfect as John, could ever think that about him.

Sherlock turned on his side and John did the same so they were now facing each other, Johns arm still around Sherlock.

"I l-love you, ya know" John whispered gently, lifting his hand and cupping Sherlocks face in it, feeling Sherlocks face visibly heat up and freeze beneath it.

Sherlock couldn't believe what John was saying, he'd always hoped so but never had it seemed possible. John smiled at him, giving him extra courage that he so painfully needed. Feeling the wound of his affection heal over the ice cold blade that was in his heart, trapping it within himself.

"I-I l-love you t-too John Watson" Sherlock stuttered, nervousness overflowing him.

"Can I kiss you?" John asked gently, still cupping Sherlocks face softly in his hand, Sherlock gave a small nod as consent and John leaned towards Sherlock gently pressing their lips together. Sherlock gasped slightly, his soft lips against Johns slightly chapped ones, John gently held Sherlock and Sherlock leaned heavily against him, his body going limp at the slightest touch.

John gently trailed his other hand through Sherlocks curls getting an unexpected moan from the detective.

They broke away after a while, John now leering over Sherlock but not in a threatening way, his hands now supporting his upper half over Sherlocks body whilst his knees were either side of Sherlocks thighs.

Sherlock breathed deeply, not realizing he'd been holding his breath, he'd never done that before, but it felt amazing.

"I've ne-never d-done that before" Sherlock peeped, his voice breathless and feeling lightheaded.

"Never kissed someone?" John asked, surprised, Sherlock nodded, "well I feel privileged to be your first"

"And only" Sherlock said with a small smile.

Rain began to gently litter the ground, single droplets hanging from their hair.

John smiled at Sherlock, pulling Sherlock off the ground with him, he then picked his coat off the floor and slid it over his shoulders. They then walked out towards a break in the hedge so they could get out of the park, avoiding the high fence.

Once they were heading down Baker Street together, holding hands, the rain fell heavier, the pavements drowned in fresh buckets of rain. The lights reflected in distorted streaks into the puddles that formed.

"Quick Sherlock, run!" John said, grabbing Sherlocks hand and racing towards the flat together, the rain pattering on them and soaking them.

Sherlock pulled out the door keys and fumbled with the lock, before pulling the door open and collapsing through the doorway with John and leaning against the wall.

"That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever done" John exclaimed with a laugh, Sherlock chuckling beside him.

They headed up to their flat, hanging their coats on the banister to dry before unlocking the flat door and collapsing on the sofa together.

"You cold?" John asked, looking at Sherlocks damp pajamas that clung to him making his figure even more visible. Sherlock shrugged and stood up.

"We should probably get changed" Sherlock decided with a small chuckle as he plucked at the hem of his tshirt.

"Good idea" John said standing up to join him and then making their way to their separate rooms so they could dress out of their damp clothes.

When John came back downstairs, Sherlock was sat on the sofa, his hands steepled resting gently against his lips. John smiled at him and went to the kitchen and began to make them both hot chocolates to warm them up, he then brought them out to the living room and placed Sherlocks in front of him on the coffee table. John then sat next to Sherlock with his own mug.

"Thankyou" Sherlock spoke suddenly, removing his hands from their position and reaching forwards to the mug on the table and taking an experimental sip, savoring the rich chocolate taste that melted down his throat.

"Cluedo?" John asked with a mischievous grin.

"Not really a very accurate game is it?" Sherlock said, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth.

John stood up and fetched his phone, plugging in the earphones before heading back to Sherlock. He sat down next to him then lifted the left earphone and put it into Sherlocks ear making Sherlock laugh as John fumbled around with it, he then inserted the other one into his own ear and then began to scroll through the music on his phone.

The music began to flow through the headphones, John knowing the words began to sing to it quietly.

"She said at night in my dreams
You dance on a tightrope of weird
Oh but when I wake up you're so normal that you just disappear
You're so straight like commuters with briefcases towing the line
There's no residue of a torturer inside your of eyes"

John sang quietly and Sherlock listened to Johns soft voice that flowed through his ears as he listened to the chords of the music.

"She said you're just like Mike
Love but you wanna be Brian Wilson, Brian Wilson
Said you're just like Mike
Love but you'll never be Brian Wilson"

"Who's Brian Wilson?" Sherlock muttered, but not so quietly that didn't make John laugh and kiss him on the cheek making him blush.

"I think you'll like the chorus" John whispered gently riffling Sherlocks curls.

"And I said (hey ay, ay)
If crazy equals genius (hey ay, ay)
If crazy equals genius
Then I'm a fucking arsonist (hey)
I'm a rocket scientist (hey hey)
(Hey ay, ay)
If crazy equals genius (hey)
You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)
But you're never gonna burn, burn, burn (hey ay)
You can set yourself on fire (hey ay)
But you're never gonna learn, learn, learn hey!"

They continued to listen to the song, Sherlock soon learning he words and his deep baritone very quietly singing the words alongside John whilst they both smiled like five year olds.

"I've heard your good at dancing" John said when the song was over.

Sherlock blushed but nodded his head slightly, John stood up and plugged his phone into the speakers scrolling through his music yet again.

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten
Ten nine eight seven six five four three two one!"

John walked over to Sherlock and lifted him up off the sofa making Sherlock squeal before placing him on the floor again in the middle of the room.

"Oh, if you only knew
What we've been up to
I guarantee you'd keep it secret
So give it to me now
We're lost in a dream now
Do it (5-4-3-2) one more time"

"Yeah, don't tell hudders" Sherlock joked getting a little nudge from John as they danced like idiots in the room, Sherlock graceful, John cumbersome and uncaring.

A/N pun intended

"In the Vegas lights
Where villains spend the weekend
The deep end
We're swimming with the sharks until we drown
The Vegas lights
The lies and affectations
Sensation
We're winning 'til the curtain's coming down"

They sang and danced around the flat, Sherlock now no longer shy to sing with his voice gliding around the room.

"You're worse than nicotine
You're worse than nicotine" John sang the words softly, pulling Sherlock toward him and lifting his head up gently kissing Sherlock on the lips, a hand on his hips and another on his neck, gently running up through his hair and down again. The stars glittered through the windows and the room illuminated with the glow of the moon, John felt addicted to him, it felt unhealthy but he craved it, "bad for thinking, good for breathing"
