Shawn's POV
I keep on thinking about her. When I got home, I went up to my music studio and sat down, grabbing my guitar. Andrew wanted me to start writing a song tonight. The only problem is that I couldn't think of anything. I let out a frustrated groan, running my fingers through my hair. I keep thinking about the girl! "I don't even know your name!" I shouted, now tugging on my hair.
I realized I was getting worked up and calmed down, untangling my fingers from my hair. I occupied my hands by placing them on my guitar. I played a few random chords. "I don't even know your name," I sighed. It was like a switch flipped. That's it! I replayed the chords, tweaking them ever so slightly. "I don't even know your name," I sang.
It sounded perfect! I immediately got a pencil and paper and began writing down the chords and lyrics. I looked at the time, 7:50 P.M. Better keep writing. The next day, I walked into the studio with a smile on my face, beaming with confidence. I had my guitar case in my hand and sheet music in the other. I called Andrew at 2:20 A.M. this morning, telling him I had written a song and need to perform it today at the studio.
He scheduled a small gig in an expanded studio with some of my managers, agents, photographers, and band. Now all I had to do now was one thing. "Hey, would you mind going to studio 11A in twenty minutes?" I say as I walk into her studio. She gives me a confused, but curious smile. "I'll be there," she says. "Great, thanks," I smile and walk out.
I all but run to studio 11A and set up my equipment, talking to some of my managers as they come in. Twenty minutes later, I hop up onto the makeshift stage and grab the microphone, putting on my guitar. I see her walk in. Perfect. "Hey, guys. Thank you so much for coming. I invited you here today to listen to me perform a song that I stayed up all night writing. Hope you like it," I say, smiling. I begin to play the chords and sing, looking straight at her the whole time.
After I finish, everyone starts clapping, including her. She has a bright smile on her face. "I wrote this about a certain girl. I met her a few days ago, and she's one of the most amazing girls I've ever met. The only problem is: I don't even know her name. She's the inspiration for this song. So, I want her to come up onstage," I explain, still looking directly at her.
Her jaw is slightly open, and she is blushing. She points to herself, not positive if the girl is her, and I nod in response, grinning from ear-to-ear. She makes her way toward the makeshift stage. I offer her my hand and help her onto it. She steps on, standing next to me. I look her in the eye, still holding her hand. "So, what's your name, beautiful?" I ask, sparks flying through my body.
"My name is y/n. Y/n y/l/n," she says, beaming. Y/n y/l/n. So that's what her name is. It suits her perfectly. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl," I say, making her blush fiercely. I tilt her chin up so she's looking straight into my eyes and grab her other hand. "Well, y/n, will you go out with me?" I ask, searching her eyes for an answer.
"Yes, Shawn, I will," she replies, giggling. I light up and pull her in for a hug before kissing her forehead. I guess great songs really do need inspiration. My inspiration is right here, standing right in front of me, and she's never going to leave.
