Can we talk about this real quickly? Because everyone always talks about how Philip deserves so much better but like I don't agree with that at all
Philip sees the situation Lukas is in. He realizes that Lukas needs help getting over this internalized homophobia he's developed because of the town he lives in and his father.
Philip stays and tries as hard as he can to help Lukas as much as Lukas tries to push him away. Lukas needs help. Lukas needs love. He might have done some fucking horrible shit but he realized what he did wrong and he obviously appreciates Philip a shit ton for helping him get over the fears he's had.
Lukas was terrified that people were going to hate him or hurt him. He was especially terrified that his father was going to hate or hurt him. If you didn't notice, up until the last episode, Bo was actually a fucking horrible father.
And I don't want to hear any accused about how 'oh he was only a bad parent cause he lost his wife' well news flash. That's not how it works. The loss of your s/o should motivate you to be an even better parent because it's not all about you. It was obvious Bo pressured Lukas into a lot of things and that's not okay
Lukas deserved so much better than what he got, and Philip gave him that. Philip tried so hard to help Lukas and in the end he did so.
Both of them deserve each other. End of story
