Only silence now spoke
The barbaric story that once happened
When people became thirsty
For each other's blood
Demons and beasts emerged
From humans that are supposed to have hearts
Carving the story of torture
For centuries to remember
A mother waited patiently
With the depth of an ocean in her love
For her children to sail safely
From the rivers of blood
As the war prolonged
Her hopes dimmed but not lost
Like a rope in a steep valley
Enough to let someone live
But the news of their death came
Shattering every piece of feeling in her
Her children belittled in the multitude of corpses
That lay there, smeared with dried red fluid
As they burnt them,
Her heart converted into balls of fury
And a laborious despair
That would remain with her all her life
The victory was theirs,
But not a single face had any emotion
