(Remember the Alesha bracelet? Well this is not what I had in mind but I think it'll do for now. If you have already imagined it forgive me for spoiling it)

I hung up and shoved my phone under the pillow, I closed my eyes and instantly opened them, I was in shock as I stared at my awake smirking friend.

"Q!" I exclaimed.
"What," she smiled.
"You scared me," I took deep breaths.
"Sorry," she exhaled.
"How long have you been listening?" I asked.
"Long enough to see that you really like this boy," she said, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Q it's really late and I'm tired," I closed my eyes.
"Good morning McCarthy," she giggled.
"Creep," I smiled.

She heard the whole conservation...

~*~

"Hey,I'm outside," he said.
"Just give me a few minutes and I'll be right up," I exhaled.
"Alright," he hung up.
I'm ready, the day had finally come and I was meeting Alex.
I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. Everyone had plans to get out of the house including my mom and in other words I was home alone. I couldn't leave the house all alone so I had to do one thing.

"Come in," I opened the door to a smirking Alex.
"Really?" He asked unsure.
"Did you have other plans?" I asked.
"Nope," he stepped inside.
Was this a good idea? I don't know.
"So this is your house?" He asked as he looked around.
"Yep," I gestured for him to take a seat in the kitchen.

"Do you want something to drink or maybe eat?" I was nervous.
"No I'm fine thanks," he smiled.
"Okay, so let's get down to business," I sighed. I said that in an awkward way didn't I. Yep! And I regret that.
"Alright," he smirked...

After minutes of telling him the whole story about us, longest version ever by the way. I was finally done and I took a deep breath and then faced him.
He just looked at me,
"Say something,please," I begged.
"I think I'll have some water," he said.
"Really that's what you can say?" I asked.

"I don't know, I think I'm still digesting this whole story," he said.
"What's there to digest?" I asked as I handed him a bottled of water.
"Come," I leaded him to the lounge.
"It's not a story by the way," I exhaled as I sat down.
"I'm sorry, we've been through a lot especially you," he grabbed the remote. He felt comfortable.
"Yeah," I smiled.

"And I don't remember none of that," he said.
"Alex what's lost is lost, don't beat yourself up for it," I said.
"I've brought nothing but pain into your life," he said.
"That's not true and you know it, when we watched the stars, I felt alive, no pain at all," I smiled. It was true.
"What about Kenzie? That's on me," he said.

"She doesn't exist to me, I told you about her because you wanted to know why we didn't get along, to me she's not part of our past," I said.
"Thanks for saying that," he smiled.
"Hold on, I have something for you," I ran to the kitchen.
"Close your eyes!" I yelled from the kitchen.
"You're gonna love this, now open your eyes," I got close to him.

"Red velvet cake!" He opened his eyes.
"Yes, we never got a chance to eat it together," I handed him a fork.
"That's a very big cake," he smiled.
"And I've got just the perfect sparkling juice," I sat down.
"Thank you," he smiled, as he placed cream on my nose.
"Why did you do that for?" I quickly wiped it.
"I don't know, it just completes you, you look beautiful by the way," he complimented me.

"Thank you and how are your stitches?" I asked.
"Do you want to see them?" He asked as he put down the fork.
"No,no," I said and he totally ignored me as he lifted his shirt and showed me his abs.
"Wow," I didn't know if I intended it to the scars or was it for his six pack.
"I didn't know you went to gym," I mumbled.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Oh! I was just saying how you're so... brave," I said.

"Yeah, this one here only missed my heart by a couple of inches," he said.
"Oh wow," I exhaled.
"McCarthy," he called.
"Yeah?" I looked at him.
"You're drooling," he grinned.
"What? Me no way! Over you? Never!" I exclaimed.
"That's what they all say when they see these beauties," he let go of his shirt.
"Like I said before, I'm not one of those girls," I said.

"Who said I was talking about girls?" He asked.
"Eeew," I laughed.
"I'm kidding," he joined me.
"Oh I almost forgot," I stood up.
"You better not come back in wearing your sexy underwear," he winked.
"You haven't changed a bit," I went upstairs.
"Do I have to close my eyes this time?" He asked as he heard me coming down.

"If you wanna," I said.
"What's this?" He asked as I handed him a box.
"Open it," I smiled.
"Oh, it's your stuff," he frowned as he opened it.
"Yeah of course, what did you think?" I asked.
"I thought it was a gift for me, wait! Why do you have my favourite book?" He asked.
"You gave it to me you dummy," I went to the kitchen to get the juice.

"Oh, I gave you all this stuff?" He asked.
"Yes," I sighed.
"The thing is," he paused.
"What?" I asked as I handed him a glass.
"You're right, you're not just any girl I've been with or who wants me, I never waste money on girls not even a penny, but look at this, I gave you my precious book. The author signed it to finding love and I ripped it of because I didn't believe in it anymore and then came you," he said.

"Alex-" he cut me off.
"I understand that we're not dating and I respect that now let's not make things awkward and boring," he said.
"Right," I exhaled.
"A bookmaker of me, now that's like me,hey?" He smiled.
"Totally," I smiled back.
"What else did you make me do?" He asked.
"I made you buy me a dress and pay for lunch," I smiled.
"What?" He exclaimed.

"Have I ever tickled you before?" He asked.
"Once," I exhaled.
"Then it means we kissed before," he smirked.
"Alex-" he cut me off.
"You're not like other girls, I get it," he smiled.
"Exactly," I said. I'm glad we on the same page now.
"Maybe that's changed," he stood up.
"Don't you dare!" I exclaimed.
"I'm coming," he got closer to me and I ran.

"Alex you don't want to see me mad!" I yelled.
"I kinda do because I've forgotten that furious image of yours," he chased after me.
"Alex please," I begged as he cornered me.
"I'm sorry," he smirked as he started to tickle me.
And like last time I tried to bite my lip but the sounds he was making made me erupt with laughter.

"Do you want me to stop," he asked.
"Please," I said in between laughs.
"Promise me you won't be mad," he said.
"I promise," I said.
"What was that?" He tickled harder.
"I promise!" I yelled.
He let me go and I just paused for a second. Then came that scene in the movies where you exchange breaths and are about to kiss. Fortunately, I always stick to my words.'I'm not one of those girls'
"You're an idiot," I exhaled as I went to sit down.
"Thank you," he smiled.
"Don't you ever do that again," I exhaled.
"Fine," he smiled.

I collapsed on the couch and caught my breath. I'm glad I didn't release any gas on either openings.
"I also have another thing for you," I grabbed my phone.
"Wow, you were prepared," he smirked.
"Turn down the volume," I said as I played our song. Feels good to say 'our' song!
The moment it played we both began to sing, him perfectly and me, I don't know.
And then came the part where we sing:

...Try to deny it as much as we want but in time, our feelings will show... Almost, almost is never enough we were close to being in love.

Those two parts make me wonder if it's true. Were we really close to being in love? Do I have feelings for him? If so will they ever show? To tell you the truth, I know the answers to these questions but I'm afraid of them. I'm afraid to admit them.
"You could have just played me this song than to tell the whole story," he said.
"You have got to be kidding me!" I exclaimed.
"I'm serious, this is the perfect summary," he smiled.

"There's one thing you didn't forget you know," I said.
"Oh yeah? And what's that?" He asked.
"Making me mad," I exhaled.
"I'm sorry, but it's true," he smirked.
"Whatever, leave it there," I gestured to the channel he just tuned to.
"Hey! Regular Show?" He got excited.
"Yeah, that's the one thing we have in common," I said.
"And you forgot to tell me that?" He asked.

"Hey, the song remember?" I asked.
"Whatever," he smiled.
I Tasha Allison McCarthy announce that I speak fluently with boys and my friend Alex here is responsible for this, I've learnt a fourth language and that is the BOY language. And of course thanks to him!
"I think I'm full now," I put my fork down and collapsed on the couch and faced the ceiling.
"Yeah me too, thanks by the way," he said.
"Don't mention it," I exhaled.

"So how's home schooling?" I asked.
"I'm watching tv," he said.
"Oh, come on! Everyone is whining about how they miss you," I sat up.
"Do you miss me?" He smirked.
"I'm cool," I said.
"Then, I'm watching tv," he teared his eyes away from me.
"I was just asking how you're coping with home schooling," I exhaled.
"It's good, I mean there's this tutor and she's so hot, almost like you, you know, the looks and the brains but she wants me so bad and I enjoy her desperation," he smiled.
"Good for you," I said.

"So you're not coming back?" I asked.
"I don't know," he shrugged.
"What about football?" I asked.
"I don't know?" He shrugged again.
"You should think about it," I said.
"What do you think I should do?" He asked.
"I don't know?" I found myself shrugging.
"See," he chuckled.
"Can I maybe help you somehow?" I asked.
"No I'm good but I'll keep that in mind," he said.

He kept looking at his phone like he was expecting a call from someone, someone like Shawn maybe.
"Nervous?" I asked.
"Very, it's been so long," he said.
"I would be too," I said.
"You're my friend, you have to be nervous for me," he said.
"You got that right," I  smiled.
"So, me and you under the stars?" He asked.
"Yep, it was very nice," I said.
"I can imagine," he smirked.

"Hey, about the wishes," he started.
"Yeah," I exhaled.
"You gave me three wishes right? And for the third one I wished for three more," he asked.
"Yes," I knew where he was going.
"Please tell me that I have wishes left," he crossed his hands.
"You only have one left," I exhaled.
"Yes!" He exclaimed with excitement.
"But it's already reserved," I burst his bubble of excitement.
"What?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yeah," I said.
"What's it reserved for?" He asked.
"Can't tell you," I smiled.
"Please tell me," he begged.
"Not gonna happen bro," I said.
"A hint maybe," he said.
"It's stupid dude just leave it," I said.
"Whatever, " he folded his arms.
"Are you mad at me?" I asked.
"I should probably go," he stood up.
"Alex," I followed him to the door, he seemed pretty mad.

"What!"He turned to me.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"What's the use of me being here when you are keeping things from me?" He asked. Yep! He's mad.
"Alex it's a dumb wish and we should forget about it," I said.
"Oh yeah? Why are making decisions for both of us? That's the worst part of having amnesia, people decide whether they should let you in on something or not," he said.

"Can we please not fight right now," I said.
"Fine, have it your way," he opened the door. He was leaving.
"Alex wait!" I called after him.
"You really want to know?" I asked as I walked towards him.
"Yes please, it's part of me you know, you are part of me," he said.
I gestured for us to sit on the porch.
"You told me that you only needed one more wish and to save it as a kiss wish," I said.

"Kiss wish?" He asked more to himself.
"Yeah," I exhaled.
"Ookay," he said.
"See it's dumb," I glared at him.
"I don't know about that, it's something to me," he said.
"Oh yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah, now I know that I  wanted to kiss you," he smiled.
"Which is stupid," I said.
"Not to me, this answers a lot of questions, I saw something in you and I still see it," he said.

"Alex-" he cut me off.
"I know, we are dating but that doesn't stop me from liking you," he said. He was right, he has the right to know how he really felt about me.
"I'm sorry," I apologized.
"Apology accepted," he smiled.
"So you were really mad?" I dared to ask.
"I was furious," he chuckled.
"You are such a girly girl," I nudged him playfully.

"So how come you're home alone?" He asked.
"Everyone had plans," I said.
"So you should thank me for keeping you company," he said.
"Whatever dude," I exhaled.
"So, what were you up to when I was in hospital?" He asked.
"I have a life you know, I  was busy living life to the fullest," I smiled.
"Ouch," he winced.
"I'm kidding, my life got back to normal," I exhaled.

"Cool," he looked at me.
"Why are looking at me," I asked.
"You're very beautiful McCarthy," he complimented me.
"You don't look too bad yourself," I said.
"Oh come on! Look at me, I'm stunning," he flashed his million dollar smile.
"You once told me that every time I blushed you made this cash register machine sound inside you," I said.

"That's just like me," he said.
"Yeah," I agreed.
"Quick question: Are you going to prom?" He asked.
"Prom? Wow!" I sighed. That was unexpected.
"Yeah prom," he said.
"I don't know, I haven't thought about it yet," I said.
"Think about it now," he smiled.
"Are you asking me that question?" I asked.

"Why are turning this on me? I just want to know if you're the prom girl or not," he exhaled.
"This is my last year right? So what the heck," I smiled.
"Cool," he said.
"Are you going to prom?" I asked.
"No," he said.
"Why?" I asked.
"I just don't feel like dressing up,"
"Wow," I exhaled.
"What?" He asked.

"Nothing," I brushed it off.
"No tell me what you're thinking," he insisted.
"Every guy is looking forward to prom, I mean it's the time when you know, get some," I said.
"I can't believe you just said that," he laughed, like really laughed at me.
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes.
"You watch a lot of movies," he calmed down.
"Are you telling me that it's not the same?" I asked.

"Honey, I always get some, like always," he smirked.
"You're disgusting," I shivered.
"You're the one that started it, and besides it's all over now," he frowned. "Oh poor baby lost his cool," I said.
"No I'm serious, everyone now wants to throw me a pity party," he said.
"People care for you Alex, you're their leader, they worship you," I said. It was true, they did.

"A leader doesn't get stabbed eight times McCarthy and backs down without a fight, I'm a joke!" He exclaimed.
"Is this why you're not coming back to school?" I asked.
"No it's not, I just can't," he said. He was lying, he's scared of facing people, he's scared of losing his spotlight. Which is not gonna happen, people admire and look up to Alex.

"Dude,I'm only gonna say this once so listen up, you're not a joke the important thing is that you survived, you're a fighter, not everyone could have been unconscious for more than two months and wake and still be themselves. I still see that popular coolest guy in school, the one you look up to, literally look up to because he's that tall! The captain of the football team, the guy who talks and hang out with people out of their league, the guy every girl falls for. The Alex Hoffman, you buddy," I pocked him playfully.

"Oh, you were talking to me? Sorry, what was that?" He joked.
"Really?" I asked.
"I'm sorry," he glared at me.
"This is supposed to be the part where you say you're coming back to school," I whispered.
"No way!" He exclaimed.
"Hey! After what I've just said," I exclaimed.
"That was really sweet of you but I'm gonna pass," he said.

"I tried," I heavily sighed.
"You did and thank you," he touched my lower arm causing me to freeze.
"Now back to our previous conversation," he exhaled as he removed his arm.
"What conversation?" I unfroze.
"Before we go there, you said something about how every girl is falling for me, by every girl are you including yourself too?" He asked.

"I don't recall saying that," I lied.
"Yes you did," he smiled.
"For the hundredth time, I'm not every girl," I said.
"Oh no you aren't, you're the girl," he  smirked.
"Uh, no I'm not," I said.
"Uh, yes you are," he insisted.
"No way, I'm never the girl, never ever!" I disagreed.
"This just proves why I was thinking about you all the time," he said more to himself.

"I'm sorry Alex, but the feeling is not mutual," I said. I didn't want to sound rude but someone had to man up and it happened to be the girl.
Just as he was about to speak a vibration coming from his phone interrupted him. He ignored it but it vibrated again.
"Hold that thought," he took out his phone. Looked at the screen than said a curse word and instantly shoved it back into his denim pocket.

"I understand that some people are meant to be friends from the get go but let's not fool ourselves anymore, for crying out loud the song explains this, our song. It explains our feelings,  I don't know much about these mutual feelings but let's not live in regret," he said.
"Alex-" he cut me off.
"Shhh, think about it, digest what I just said. The truth is, I can't keep on waiting on a miracle," he said.

"Alex-" he cut me off again.
"Here's what's gonna happen, if you really care and want to start something with me, if you feel the same way I feel about you then you'll meet me at Vantagè, where I booked reservations for me, you and Shawn.
I'm not forcing you to anything but I just want to know if there's someone who cares," he said.
"Alex I care for you but-" he cut me off.
"Then show up and I'll know that the feeling is mutual," he said.

"It's not fair, you're giving me an ultimatum," I said.
"I'm giving you time to set your feelings straight and in fact I should leave, you know, give you some space, you'll need it," he stood up and I didn't barge.
"Hey, someone has to man up at least I did and bonus because I'm the man, I'll see you tonight at eight o'clock or maybe I won't, we'll see," he placed his hand on my shoulder and then left. I didn't look at him, I didn't show any emotions or movement.

I stayed like that after a few seconds after him leaving and I felt tears in my eyes. I quickly got inside the house and it didn't take me long to release the ocean of tears and I just crashed down with my back against the door and just cried.

Quick question: Why was I crying?
A- Alex left me
B- Alex is making me choose between   friendship and/or relationship
C- I know the answer but I'm afraid of the consequences, I'm afraid of going against mom's will and I'm afraid of losing a friend
D- Alex left without finishing the cake
