Afina jolted awake to see someone from the institute waiting in the room
She stood up quickly seeing no one else in the room not even Raphael
"Where's Raphael" she asked frantically backing away from the man who was walking towards her
"I have orders to bring you in when you wake up. Come with me Raphaels at the institute" the man said and Afina was hesitant before nodding her head and walking with him to the institute
Once they got there Afina covered her mouth at the sight of Raphael being tortured
"Raphael!" She yelled and he quickly looked at her surprised
"Afina?! You're alive?! Get out of here!" He shouted before he started struggling in his seat when he saw Victor walking towards her "don't touch her!"
Afina took a step back when Victor got up to her
"Afina, have a seat" he said putting a hand on her back moving her to a seat next to Raphael
"NO! Afina don't sit down!" Raphael yelled struggling even more but it was to late she had already sat down and was stuck in the chair
She started struggling when she saw a light moving towards her
"Raphael!" She screamed scared of what will happen
"I'm telling you I don't know where Camille is! Just let Afina go!" Raphael yelled when he heard Afina screaming he looked over at her to see the light had reached her face "I swear when I get out of this I will kill you!"
"Is that a threat Raphael?" Victor asked his hands behind his back
"You're hurting someone I love so yes it is a threat" he said through gritted teeth before the light moved back to him burning him multiple times before the light went back to Afina
He watched as the light cut deeply into her face. He watched her pain and her screaming and he couldn't do anything to stop it
Raphael thrashed around in his spot yelling at them to stop even though he was weak himself. Finally Victor turned off the light
"You have twelve hours to find Camille if you don't find her by then I will burn your clan then I'll make you watch as we burn Afina then we'll burn you, let them go" with that Victor walked out of the room and Raphael stumbled his way over to Afina who had closed her eyes at the pain
"Come on, I just got you back Afina. You're fine ok? You're fine. You're with me now" Raphael said bring her head closer to his chest kissing her head "I thought I lost you"
"Where were you?" She asked weakly
"The stupid institute pulled me out everyone was called into the institute it was an order so they left that man there and it was not my choice, come on let's get to Magnus" Raphael stood up holding onto Afina to balance her as she stood up
"By the way I remember" Afina said smiling
"Remember what?" Raphael asked still holding onto Afina
"That night you saved me" after she said that Afina collapsed in his arms and Raphael gathered the strength to carry her to Magnus

Raphael set Afina down next to him on the floor as she was still unconscious
He turned to the front door and pounded on it and he could hear footsteps approaching the door before it opened
"Raphael" Magnus sighed at the sight of the vampire before moving his gaze to Afina
"We had nowhere else to go" Raphael said before his pain became to much and he collapsed into Magnus who caught him.
"My poor boy, you'll be alright come on" Magnus said before bringing Raphael into his living room and setting him down before he ran back outside and picked up Afina and brought her over to the couch in his living room
After he set Afina down he started walking over to Raphael "no, heal her first" he demanded and Magnus stopped
"Your wounds are worse" Magnus tried to reason which was true Raphaels wounds were worse
"Yes but she is like your daughter isn't she?" Raphael asked holding his side
"Yes but you were like my son" Magnus said
"Heal her first, please Magnus" Raphael looked up at the warlock who finally gave in and went over to heal Afina who was still weak from almost dying the night before
After Magnus finished healing Afina he walked back to Raphael
"Will she be alright?" Raphael asked groaning at the pain
"She'll be fine, if she can make it back from literal life and death I think she can make it back from torture" Magnus said smiling at the fact that Raphael was more worried about her than himself "you really love her don't you?" Magnus asked
"I do" Raphael smiled looking over slightly to see Afina shifting meaning she was waking up
She sat up rubbing her head before remembering what happened then she quickly looked around her before she saw Raphael being healed by Magnus and then she sighed in relief before walking over to his side and taking his hand
"He knows how I took you in, How you're like a son to me. That's why he did this" Magnus spat continuing to heal Raphael
"He's looking for Camille" Raphael said squeezing Afina's hand
"And punishing me at the same time" Magnus said
"So you'll help me deliver Camille to the clave?" Raphael asked and Magnus kneeled next to him on the other side of the chair
"Raphael" Magnus said shaking his head slightly
"I know it's a lot to ask, which is why I haven't until now. Victor gave me twelve hours or he's gonna burn me, Afina and my entire clan, and let alone his threat I won't let him touch Afina" Raphael stated looking at Afina who blushed before looking away
Magnus was about to reply when there was a knock on the door
"Magnus open up its me" Simon yelled and Magnus sighed before he flicked his hand and his front door opened
Simon walked in not seeing Afina or Raphael at first
"Ok time to put your money where your mouth is by helping me find Camille cause Raphael-" Simon cut himself off when he saw Raphael walk out from where he was still holding Afina's hand "man you are everywhere!"
"Victor did this to me and Afina because of you!" Raphael said letting go of Afina to storm up to Simon
"Ya well you look like crap bring it on scar face!" Simon shouted shoving Raphael back before Magnus intervened keeping both men from attacking each other
Afina looked away from Simon at his comment and touched her cheek where she remembered one of the scars were before walking out of the room
She walked around the halls looking at the pictures on Magnus's wall
She was looking at one particular picture when Raphael walked up next to her
"That's you" Raphael said already knowing what she was thinking and Afina hummed in response before moving on
"Did Magnus finish healing you?" Afina asked looking at the next painting
"Ya, you were telling me earlier you remember when I saved you" Raphael said looking at Afina who was already looking at him and she nodded "what happened"
"I, I wanted to see you. Magnus was home and I knew he was but I wanted to go to the hotel. You told me to stay away multiple times but something about you wouldn't let me leave. So I came back and I was cornered by vampires and I knew I would be ok because I could sense you near and I could sense your worry. You came and shoved the vamps away from me and you held my hand until you knew they would leave and even after that you held my hand all the way to Magnus. So I knew I loved you even as a little girl I just knew and I don't know how" Afina explained looking up at the man she loved
"Is that all you remember?" He asked a hopeful gleam in his eyes
"If you're asking if I remember what happened when I grew up then yes I remember what happened" Afina smiled
"I'm not sure how you lost your memories from when you were older after your mother took them away when you were young" Raphael said taking her hand
"She erased my memories again when I turned eighteen because she wanted me to start over and not be so much like my sister but in doing so I became more like my sister which isn't a bad thing Izzy is an amazing influence and it might also be because I remembered everything from the first time she erased my memories" Afina exclaimed looking back at the paintings
"So what happened that night?" Raphael asked looking down at Afina who smiled again.
"You want to make sure I actually remember what happened" Afina said knowingly and Raphael looked away slightly "on my eighteenth birthday I went to the hotel and I found you there, you asked what I wanted pretending to not know who I was. I told you I remembered and you treated me like I was crazy before I kissed you and convinced you I remembered then you believed me until I was taken away again and my memories were erased again" Afina sighed and Raphael nodded
They stood in silence for a few more minutes before Raphael spoke up again.
"We should go back, Magnus is going to summon Camille" Raphael said and Afina nodded before they both started walking back to the living room
Long story short Magnus sent them to an address to get some extra things and they went
On the way there Simon walked in front of the couple and Afina would look around her not interested in going to the address at all
She stopped at one point to look at a necklace that was in a glass case before Raphael pulled her away but not before seeing what she was looking at.
Half way there Afina got a call from Izzy
"Hey Izzy what's up?"
"It's Alec"
"Alec? What's going on?"
"Just get to the institute ASAP"
After that Alec hung up and Afina turned to Raphael
"I have to go my family needs me. Will you be at the hotel?" She asked and he nodded and she kissed him before running to the institute
When she ran into the institute she saw Clary stab Izzy in the back literally
"What the hell!" Afina yelled as she watched a black cloud like thing come out of Izzys back and watched Clary kill it before Izzy collapsed
Afina ran up to her brother and sister and started freaking out when Izzy wasn't breathing
"Izzy, come on" Alec begged and Izzy gasped awake and Alec brought her into a hug and Afina sighed in relief
"You really have to tell me what the hell just happened" Afina said as Alec started her healing rune
"Valentines demon, it attacked us. It was possessing people. It possessed me and I" Alec glanced at Clary "I killed Clary's mom"
"Oh my god" Afina gasped and looked over at Clary who was now accompanied by Simon who was hugging her
Jace came in and gave Alec a side hug before they helped Izzy to the infirmary
But before they could go Afina stopped them
"I have to go back to the hotel, I'll come visit you tomorrow ok?" She asked and Izzy nodded and Afina gave her siblings a hug before walking out of the institute

When Afina got back to the hotel Raphael was already waiting for her in the main room
"Hey, what are you doing in here" she asked and Raphael smiled
"I wanted to give you something" Raphael stood up and walked closer to her giving her a small box and Afina looked up at him smiling
"What's this?" She asked
"Just open it" Raphael said a waiting smile on his face which broke into an even bigger smile when he saw her face
"It's the necklace I was looking at" Afina said smiling brightly "thank you"
"Of course, I would do anything for you." Afina pulled Raphael into a hug before breaking apart giving him the necklace and turning around
"Help me?" She questioned moving her hair as Raphael put the necklace on her neck
After he clipped it he hugged Afina from behind
"You know I really love you right?" Raphael asked going back to the conversation he had with Magnus earlier
"Ya I know. I really love you too" she smiled and they waited there for awhile before finally going to Raphaels room
