1988 Red Shirt Part 2
"Ahem..."
"Oh. Sorry... I didn't mean to snoop-"
"No, no. It's fine." Michael said with a smile. You didn't realize you were speaking out loud when you breathlessly said,
"You're so beautiful." He began to blush profusely, and when you noticed what you said, you wanted to hide behind the sofa. He scratched the back of his neck and pointed to your paper and pen.
"Um, I saw that you wanted an autograph?" You look at your hands and then remember your purpose.
"Oh. Yes! Please?"
"Of course!" He said, that grin returning to his face. He took your paper and pen and signed it, maintaining your gaze with his smoldering brown eyes and boyish smirk.
"Here ya go!" He said. Every little thing that he did simply infatuated you and made your heart jump.
"I saw you outside when I was coming in and, um... How do I say this?" He spun on his heel, at a loss for words, but you were smitten just being in his presence.
"Well you must know that you are beautiful?" He said, just offering up the idea as a matter of fact. You were stunned and couldn't say anything. All you did was gulp hard. He covered his face with his hands in embarrassment, and when he removed them, he was smiling hard. He started to laugh seemingly at a loss for his own words as you stood there, still infatuated, but confused. Then he said,
"I like you... and, um, gosh..." He petered out. You were hanging on to his every word and his sputtering was entertaining and quite cute.
"Will you go out with me?" He asks. Looking incredibly hopeful.
"Ah... um..." You stammer. You were not at all prepared for that, and you could see the look of defeat take over his face at your reaction.
