After Cara came up with the conclusion that Tyler could be suffering with depression, everyone had went silent as they took in the information. Joshua knew that him having depression wouldn't make Josh love Tyler any less, it would just make him want to do the exact opposite.
Love him even more.
Hearing the news that it could be possible for Tyler to have depression made Joshua really think about his past. He had a cousin that he was really close to, they were best friends, they got their first tattoo illegally put on their body at the age of fifteen together, they spent every moment terrorizing their neighborhood, and they practically lived with each other their whole life. The only thing that changed about their close relationship was the fact that his cousin Oliver, was no longer living in their world.
He was diagnosed with severe depression after he was diagnosed with ADHD. He hated being "different" because of his disorder, and eventually that was enough. So as Josh sat at the edge of Tyler's bed glancing over at the brunet every time he moved to get comfortable, he couldn't help but think of his cousin and how he wasn't there to save him.
Reaching into his pocket, he grabbed out an already rolled joint and moved over to Tyler's window to go out onto the roof. Opening it up he crawled through the threshold and sat down on the middle of the structure, his hand reaching back into his pocket to grab out his lighter. He lit the joint, and brought it up to his lips just wanting to give his mind a break from all of the thoughts running through it.
Looking up the sky, Joshua smiled at the memory of his cousin and looked over towards the window when he heard it open. A sleepy looking Tyler looked at him with one eye half lidded and the other gently closed.
"What are you doin' joshie?" He asked, his voice a little croaky from sleep.
"Smoking." Josh responded, showing the joint to the brunet leaning out the window. With a small pout, Tyler crawled through the window, Joshua's button up hanging down his shoulder beautifully as he walked closer to the pink haired boy.
The brunet took a seat next to Josh and rested his head on his shoulder as he let out a quiet yawn.
"How you feeling, my love?" Josh asked before taking another drag from the drug.
Tyler shrugged his shoulders and craned his neck to kiss the pale skin of Joshua's neck. "Better." He sniffle slightly, his eyes shutting as he took in the small breeze and sound of his boyfriend blowing out smoke.
"Can you do something for me?" Josh asked after a moment of silence, his fingers lowering away from his mouth as he turned to stare up into the sky.
"I'd do anything for you Jish." The brunet lazily smiled, his brown wide doe eyes taking in Joshua's side features, from his jawline, to the crinkles under his slightly droopy eyes, and the cute nose that rested upon his face.
"J-just promise me, that when you're feeling down, you'll talk to someone." Josh said softly, turning to look at the brunet who sat criss-cross on the roof of the house.
Tyler sadly smiled and nudged his nose against the pale skin expanding over Joshua neck, pressing a soft kiss to the area before looking it back up at his older boyfriend. "I promise joshie. I love you." He whispered.
Joshua smiled and looked over at the small freckle cheeked brunet before pressing a feather light kiss onto his lips.
"I love you more." He replied.

Ruth sent a satisfied smirk over at Charlie and Cara who had been standing at the opposite stand. Travis had been rubbing Tyler's back as he breathed heavily due to the waiting that was taking place. He didn't know what was happening and he really didn't want to go back to his moms house.
"Your honor we have proof that on exactly February fifteenth, Ruth had physically and emotionally abused my son." Charlie stepped up, wanting to smirk right back when he noticed Ruth's smug expression gone.
She started to fidget at the stand, completely shocked at the fact that she had been caught doing something she knew wasn't right.
"May I see the evidence?" The judge asked, her long black hair flowing over her shoulders as she took the papers from the officer who grabbed them out of Cara's hands. "What is this exactly?" She asked.
"In the folder is pictures that I had took after Ruth, our mother, put her hands on my little brother for not approving of his boyfriend. She had grabbed ahold of his arms rather harshly, not letting go when asked to stop by Tyler himself, resulting in those bruises. Now the cd I have provided is actually Ruth saying how Tyler was no longer her son and other sayings along those lines." Cara explained, the judge looking over the pictures before listening to the audio of Ruth verbally abusing her son.
Feeling uncomfortable with the situation happening, Tyler excused himself from the court room and left to wait out in the lobby. When he spotted Joshua, he rushed over to the curly pink haired boy and wrapped his arms tightly around the older male. Josh excused himself from the conversation he was having with Officer Weekes, his probation officer, and looked at the boy crying softly against his chest.
"What's wrong, Bambi?" Joshua asked, his larger hands taking hold of Tyler's cheeks to get him to look at him. His thumbs rubbed the falling tears away from his face, as the brunet hiccuped.
"You know what, I'm just gonna go! It was nice catching up Joshua now you stay out of trouble." Officer Weekes said before walking off.
"I thought my mama was supposed to love me. I'm her son, I have her blood in me and she said so many mean things joshie. so many of them. She taught me that there was so many mean people in the world, but look at her now." He whimpered, his eyes blinking rapidly as he tried to stop the tears from falling.
It broke Josh's heart to see his boy so hurt and upset.
"Baby boy, don't cry. At one point your mom was a good person, and way deep down she still is, but you don't want to waste your tears on someone like her. You shouldn't even have to cry ever. I know things are really really tough for you right now, and everything's been happening so suddenly, but Bambi you have been so strong through everything and I really admire that about you. So please, for me, for Cara, Charlie, and Travis, just try to stay positive... it may be hard to believe but things will get better. There's a lot more good people who outweigh the bad." Josh whispered, resting his forehead against Tyler's as his sobs turned into sniffles.
Tyler sadly smiled and pressed his body closer to Joshua's. He loved the older boy with everything. He knew he was young, and he knew that it was looked upon by many people of same sex couples, but at that moment he didn't care. This boy was his happiness, this boy is what held him down, this boy is who brought him back to reality, and that's all Tyler really needed.
Suddenly the courtroom doors were opening and a smiling Cara was rushing over to the couple hugging in the middle of the room.
"Little brother, don't cry! Ruth's not getting you any time soon! With proof of both forms of abuse she's actually been sentenced to five years in jail." Cara explained just as a teary-eyed Charlie walked up to them, hugging his son close to his body.
Josh let go and watched as the brunet attached himself to his father. Happy tears leaving both their eyes.
