That night Raphael decided he'd teach Afina some skills to keep her safe and so she could protect herself
Afina groaned as Raphael pinned her once again
"You are leaving yourself completely open for someone to attack you" Raphael stated
"Ya well I'm used to being a shadowhunter who doesn't want to drink blood" she replied getting frustrated
"Let's take a break" Raphael suggested and Afina nodded in agreement before Raphael took a seat on the couch motioning his head next to him
Afina smiled and sat next to him and he took her hand in his. The pair sat there for a few minutes in silence when Afina spoke up
"Did I ever tell you what happened that night when Clary and the team went to Magnus to get her memories back?" She asked and he shook his head
"No I don't believe so" he said
"Well that night when he summoned the demon I guess it wanted payment and we each had to give up a memory of the one we love the most and when it got to me it was Izzy then it changed" she explained
"To who?" He asked
"To you" she said
"I'm the one you love the most?" He asked but Afina noticed he didn't sound that surprised about it
"Why aren't you surprised by that?" Afina asked looking at him
"I am" he lied and Afina scoffed
"You're keeping something from me aren't you?" She asked
"No I'm not Afina" he said and he noticed that Afina glared at him slightly as she stood up
"What are you hiding?" She asked
"Nothi-" Raphael was cut off by Afina
"Stop lying Raphael! What do you know?!" She yelled at him now mad
"You don't need to know" he whispered
"Yes I do!" She shouted
"Fine you want to know so bad? When your mother went to Magnus to tell him to erase your memories it wasn't just to keep you away from him, it was also to keep you away from me" Raphael explained
"What?" She asked
"You didn't like being around your strict parents and when Magnus was busy you'd walk around alone at night and I would follow you-" Afina cut him off once again
"So you could get my blood?" She asked sarcasm evident in her tone
"No because every night for two weeks I'd see a little girl walk up to the hotel and look up at the building and always catch sight of me watching it became a regular thing. And when you didn't show up one night I started to get worried and went to see if you were outside and I saw a crowd of vampires surrounding you. And ever sense then I'd protect you unless you were with Magnus. Magnus knew about me and how I watched over you and he took me in and I also protected you because he was like your father and I trusted him" Raphael explained
"Why didn't you tell me this sooner?" She asked sitting down
"What'd you expect me to say 'oh ya before your memories got wiped we knew each other and you told me multiple times that you loved me back then" he said sarcastically making her giggle
"Wait really?" She asked
"You did you told my all the time and I didn't care because you were young but deep down I believed that after your memories were wiped I'd see you again and I was right." he smiled and Afina couldn't help but smile as well as she wished she remembered those moments
"I love you" she blurted out and her eyes widen not meaning to say it and he chuckled at her expression
"I love you too" he smiled making her smile the brightest smile he has ever seen
There moment was ruined when Afina's phone buzzed and she looked to see a message from Izzy
"You coming to the wedding tomorrow? If so come now and help me decorate and plan"
Afina laughed slightly at her sister before turning to Raphael and he nodded already knowing she was going to leave
"The suns out, I know the tunnels that lead to your institute come on" Raphael stood up and grabbed her hand as they went to the tunnels
Once they got there Afina hugged him and was about to leave when he pulled her back
"If you think I'm letting you walk down here alone you're crazy" he stated and she smiled while shaking her head before they started down the tunnel
Once they got there they went into the room the tunnel led to, the basement
They stood in the room for a few minutes "I would invite you but I think my mothers going to be there"
"Just come back afterwards ya?" He asked and she nodded before he kissed her taking her by surprise but kissed back nonetheless
When they pulled away Raphael leaned his head against hers
"I love you" she whispered
"I love you too" he smiled and Afina thought she would never get over those butterflies
Afina walked up into the institute looking for Izzy when she found her talking to a random person about the wedding
When Izzy looked up she smiled at the sight of her sister and walked up to her giving her a tight hug
"You need to help me plan the bachelor party" Izzy said pointing a finger at Afina
"Do you even know how to throw that kind of party?" She asked and Izzys face fell slightly before she smiled again
"Yes, i mean I'll ask the boys maybe Simon" she explained and Afina nodded
Afina looked to the side to see Magnus and she looked in the opposite direction to see Alec and she noticed the little glances they gave each other before Magnus Clary and Jace left
Afina turned to Izzy and crossed her arms in confusion and curiosity
"Is Alec sure he wants to marry Lydia?" Afina asked and Izzy turned to her catching onto what she was thinking immediately
"He said he was sure, lets just be supportive" Izzy said and Afina nodded
"When are we going to see Simon?" Afina asked
"Right now lets go" Izzy said about to go out the door when she noticed Afina not following "right its daylight, well how'd you get here?"
"The tunnels in the basement" Afina said
"Alright then lets go" Izzy said following Afina into the basement and the pair walked through the tunnel to the hotel
When they got there they went to the main room where they saw Simon trying on suits but turned around when he heard them
"Are you going to the wedding?" Afina asked and Simon nodded with the goofiest smile "with who?"
"Clary" he said
"Ohhh Simon" Afina cooed and Simon blushed slightly before Izzy cleared her throat slightly to get there attention and they turned to her to see what she had to say
"I just need your advice on something" Izzy said
"First time for everything huh? What's up?" Simon asked going back over to look at his suits
"It's about Alec's bachelor party, when you were a mundane you went to one right?" Izzy asked hopeful
"Well I'm only eighteen and I'm a vampire now so" Simon trailed looking at Izzy who's smile fell slightly "but I know a thing or two"
"Simon what makes a bachelor party a bachelor party?" Izzy asked walking up to him
"Well I would say the answer to that is strippers" he said and Izzy turned away from him her smile falling completely and Afina looked at her brother mouthing 'seriously' at him "but there's no right way to throw a bachelor party it depends on who's there"
"Like there really about best friends, coming together and assuring each other that there always gonna be best friends even if one of them gets married" Simon explained making Izzy smile again
"So it's about the people you're close to?" Izzy asked
"And a ton of drinking if you have both of those then your bachelor party will be a success" Simon said
"Thank you Simon, come on Afina we have a bachelor party to get to" Izzy said
"You mean find a way to get Alec to go to his own bachelor party?" Afina asked and Izzy laughed before leaving out the front door this time sense it was dark
"Thank you Simon, I'll see you at the wedding" Afina smiled hugging her brother and making her way to Izzy
When she found her sister Izzy and Afina quickly made there way to the institute and when they got there Afina decided to let Izzy take Alec to his party and she'd wait for her upstairs
Izzy came up the steps with a smirk on her face and Afina laughed knowing the plan worked
"Lets go plan some more" Izzy said and she hooked her arm with Afina's
"I don't have a dress" Afina said just now remembering
"That's actually perfect because I already picked out your dress and I wasn't going to let you wear whatever dress you had" Izzy said and Afina laughed as they walked around helping with the wedding

Afina and Izzy had changed in there dresses for the wedding
Afina had left at a different time then Izzy and walked into the wedding ceremony to see her brother standing at the front with Jace by his side
She walked up to him smiling "is it ok to hug you? I've never been to one of these things I don't know if it's rude" Afina said kind of nervous
Alec chuckled at his sister before pulling her into a hug "yes it's ok for you to hug me"
When they pulled away Afina looked toward Jace and nodded her head slightly in greeting still not able to forgive him
Afina wasn't sure what she was forgiving at this point but she knew she was still mad at him.
She turned around and found a seat in the front row closer to where Lydia would be standing and she sat next to Simon when a loud bang echoed the room
"Attention the ceremony is about to commence" the silent brother said and Afina looked back to see Izzy walking in holding pillows both had steles on them but on one pillow there was a bracelet and the other was a necklace
And then Lydia walked in, Afina's mouth hung open slightly at how beautiful she looked. Afina looked toward Izzy who didn't seem so sure about the wedding anymore and Lydia took the bracelet and put it on Alec's wrist and Alec grabbed the necklace and put it around lydias neck
"It is time for Alec lightwood and Lydia branwell to mark each other with the wedded union rune" the silent brother explained "a rune on the hand a rune on the heart a union is born"
Izzy held out the pillow for Lydia as she took the stele and turned to Alec putting about to put a rune on him when they heard doors close and looked towards the front where they saw Magnus enter
Afina turned around in her seat as well and smiled at the sight of the warlock she watched as her mother walked up to Magnus
She turned back to Alec who looked like who was about to have a panic attack and she watched as Lydia put her hand on his cheek and Alec turned to the front to face Magnus
She looked at Lydia who looked like she was about to cry but didn't and she smiled at the thought that Lydia is letting this happen
Afina watched Alec walk up to Magnus and past there mother and kissed Magnus and she smiled as did the rest of her siblings and Clary
When they pulled away Izzy and Afina were the first to go up to him
"Alec we are so proud of you" Izzy said smiling at her brother and making him smile back
"I always saw it" Afina smirked before laughing a little and then Simon walked up
"Guys, that was incredible it was like watching the live version of the graduate. You know the amazing movie" Simon said then pointed to Magnus "you were Ben and Elan I mean taller muscular handsome version of her but at the alter though you were all like, Ben. And then you were all sitting on the bus at the end of the movie both totally excited but wondering like what're we gonna do now? You know?" Simon asked smiling like an idiot and Afina face palmed
"Who invited the vampire?" Alec asked and both his sisters gave him a look
"Seriously?" Simon asked disappointed and Afina pulled him away from them
"Wow you can talk a lot Simon" Afina mentioned and Simon started smiling again "when are you going back to the hotel?"
"Not sure yet but I'll let you know and we can leave together" Simon said
"Raphael showed me and underground passage from here to the hotel so We can leave whenever soon" Afina mentioned
"Raphael huh?" Simon smirked raising his eyebrows
"What?" Afina asked "oh leave me alone I like him he's sweet"
"Sweet as in a freaking devil?" Simon asked and Afina smacked his arm
"There's a lot more to the story that you don't know" she told him and he nodded
"Well I guess we should just go back to the hotel I can't see Clary she probably left" Simon sighed
"No surprise there" Afina said and Simon gave her a look but she just shrugged "come on"
Simon and Afina walked through the tunnel to the hotel talking and laughing about anything and everything when they got to the hotel
"I'll see you tomorrow Afina" Simon said walking away and Afina looked around not knowing where to go
Sure she'd been in Raphaels room but she was always unconscious or half asleep. She walked around the main room when a voice interrupted her
"Looking for something?" He asked and she turned to see Raphael smiling at her
"I got a little lost" she said a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks and he walked in front of her putting his hand on her cheek
"Come on" he smiled at her leading her to his room
"I feel like I'm always leaving you and we never get a chance to hang out, just me and you I'm always leaving to the institute" she said as they got to his room
"Then soon we will just have a day for us. Just you and me" he kissed the top of her head as he helped her into his bed then taking his fancy jacket off then climbed in next to Afina
As soon as he got into the bed Afina turned toward him and buried her head in his chest and he held her close to him
