Sweet Blasphemy
Andy’s Point of View:
I had learned that Jinxx asked Ashley out. I’m sure he’s ok for her. But their only going to the release together, right?
I walked into our tiny bathroom, and I saw Ashley doing her dark eye makeup. She had a beautiful, short, black dress on.
“Hey.” Ashley turned around to see me.
“Oh, hey. What’s up?”
“Nothing. You ready to go yet?"
“Yeah. I’m just waiting for you and Jake.”
“Kay. Do you have a date?”
“Yep. Met her at the show last night. She’s not crazy.” Ashley laughed a little. Most of the girls I meet at shows are crazy.
“Good.”
Ashley applied some blood red lipstick, and then turned to me.
“So…do I look ok?"
“You look great.
“Thanks, Andy. You look good, too.” Ashley was fixing up her hair when I finally spoke.
“Um…can we talk about something?” I asked.
“Sure.”
“Well, us rock stars are…kind of…you know-“
“Andy, you don’t need to talk to me about this."
“Yes, I do! Us rock stars are….” I couldn’t think of the right word.
“Exactly! And Jinxx is the most mature out of the five of you, anyway.” She went back to her hair.
Why doesn’t she understand? I know how rock stars are. But she might be right. Jinxx is the most mature out of all of us.
I suddenly got this strange feeling inside of me. It wasn’t a good one. It was what I felt like when I found out Scout cheated on me. The worst feeling ever. I was getting mad. I didn’t want to yell at her, though.
“And why does your dress have to be so short?”
“It’s not that short. And I’m wearing stockings.”
That were ripped.
“Ashley, please don’t go like that. I know how we think.”
“Come on, Andy. Please. Do you know how long I’ve wanted this?” She has wanted this for a long time.
When Ashley started liking boys (age 10), I didn’t know what to do. We had been a band for about a year, and she was already crushing on Jinxx.
“Fine. I’m sorry. I just go crazy because I love you.”
“I know you do. I love you, too, but just…I’m eighteen. Let me go.”
“You’re my little sister. I can’t just let you go.”
“You know what I mean. Now are we leaving or what? I got a hot rock star waiting for me.”
“We can leave ONLY if you give me a hug.” Ashley rolled her eyes.
“No, Andy. Let me leave. I’m not four anymore.”
“Come on! Give me a hug!”
“Fine!” She hugged me, and I had my little sister back.
