A collection of all the lessons I have learned in high school. :) Will be adding more as I learn more. More

Be yourself. But not too much yourself.
I am only as good as my teacher says I am.
Your life revolves around stupid letters.
I am no more than a product on an assembly line.
The Quadratic Equation
Lies your parents tell you: "Just do your best"
Counselors are useless. Or at least mine is. Part I
Looks don't matter. Except they do.
The biggest lie your parents will ever tell you.
Cheaters sometimes do win.
Everyone hates everyone. Period.
Everything dies.
The true meaning of friendship.
Bribery is wrong. Except when you really really need it.
When it comes to flirting, boys are useless.
Facebook is a cult.
TV is a cult.
Don't trust the people who give you tests.
Girls are scared. Boys are scared. I'm alone.
You're sick? Take some meds and shut up.
It's awesome being called awesome.
Counselors are useless. Or at least mine is. Part II
Weird things boys have said to me that they don't even realize are weird.
Lies I tell my parents.
Things guys do that are both creepy and sweet.
I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello...
Where the heck do you look while walking?
Things guys do that are just creepy.
The totally foolproof way to getting a guy/girl to go out with you.

I don't care if it doesn't look good on paper.

Oh you like swimming?

Writing?

Reading?

Drawing?

Horse-back riding?

Cooking?

Sculpting?

Listen carefully: I. Don't. Care.

This is high school. That was cute in elementary. But get your stuff together and be serious. If you can't put it on a college application, then listen carefully: I. Don't. CARE. Your teachers don't care. The college board doesn't care. Your parents probably don't care. And neither should you.

Forget the "cute stuff". Sure, some of the activities from above can be put on a college app. But honestly?

I. DON'T. CARE.

You're life is over.

Isn't impressive? Forget. It. MOVE ON. Because from now on, everything you ever say, do, hear, see, or breathe will be:

College.

College.

CO.

LLEGE.

That is your new vocabulary.

All our lives we are encouraged to pursue our own interests. "Explore our true selves." But we reach a certain age, whether you've reached it or not, where that stops mattering. Where your life becomes grades. Where you eat, sleep and breathe GPAs. AP classes. All that fun stuff. Where your summer vacation is a less a vacation, and more a time for you to find other things you can do that you can "Put on your college essays". And that age is getting younger and younger. High school. Now even junior high. Who knows what the future will be like?

"You like Care Bear coloring books? I don't care, Kindergartener. YOU CAN'T PUT THAT ON YOUR COLLEGE APPS."

So you like something that you can't put on your "college resume"?

I don't care.
