"Your help was worth nothing." a slap was brought across my face. My chest was heaving, and my forehead was full of sweat. I was tied to a chair, and Meredith stood before me. Her arms tied behind her back. "You turned on us. You failed a mission that was simple. You lied about Rogers, and now you're really gonna pay for it."

The man wrapped his arm around Meredith's neck and pressed a gun to her head. She had tears streaming down her face. "NO!" I shouted, trying to break free. The tall man chuckled and pulled the trigger.

I gasped for air and rose up in the bed. It was only just a dream.I looked over to see Meredith still asleep. The light faded through the curtains. I pushed hairs out of face, and kissed her forehead. She never moved, even though I was sure to have made a lot of noise.

I slowly got up, and peeked out the window. Leaves had fallen more than the day before. The window was foggy, and so was the air. It had to have been at least 65 degrees in the house. I grabbed a hoodie, and krept downstairs.

The coffee machine gurgled, and I grabbed a cup out of the cupboard. I walked up the stairs to check on Meredith, her body was still tangled up in the covers. I let her be and walked down hallway to the empty room diagonal from ours.

Sipping my coffee and staring into the dull room, shoulder against the doorway. All of a sudden it changed into a light yellow color. There was a small bed with many stuffed animals lined up. The vision was sort of blurry, but I could see what was happening. I backed up a little, startled by the scene. Toys were spilled out onto the floor and a small book shelf filled with Dr. Sues and Frog and Toad.

I kept shaking and rubbing my eyes trying to knock myself back into reality, it was no use. And there sat a little brown-haired girl. She was wearing a sun dress and wore a flower crown. Her eyes met mine, and I took a step back. She smiled at me and giggled.

She stood up and danced, twirling herself around the room. She was the most precious thing I had seen. She looked so much like Mere- I was snapped out of my trance. "What are you doing Buck?" Meredith asked.

I looked over at her, and then back to the room. Everything was back to it's original state. Half empty boxes, brooms and cleaning tools. But no girl.

"I was j-just seeing what we are going to do with this empty room." I told her. "Maybe it can be a library or something." she said. "Right, right." I replied, still staring back into the blank room.

We sat on the couch in the living room with the fireplace finally cool enough to be on, with Friends on TV. She was drank her coffee while curled up in a blanket, with her head up again my shoulder. I was amazing to see how she could feed herself without my help.

* Flashback *

"Mer just let me help you." It was the first time Meredith and I were home eating a meal together. "I can get by on my own." She said, the spoon shaking in her hand.

The attempt ended in a disaster. The hot chicken noodle soup everywhere on her lap. I got imediatly, assisting her, and grabbing napkins. "Let me do it." she snapped.

* Flashback over *

"Would you like to do something today?" I asked her. She took a moment to think, "Yes. What do you have in mind?" she questioned. "Maybe go to the pumpkin patch? Decorate the front porch?"

"Are you serious?" she exclaimed, raising her head up. "Yes, Mer." She countinued to scream with enthusiasm. "Alright, alright Mer!" I said chuckling a bit.

I got us all in the Jeep, leaving for the patch. Henry was asleep on her lap, and we listened to radio, screaming out lungs to a Hall & Oats song.

She was happy. And it made me happy. The way she overcame this incident was remarkable. It was like it was a curse that made her a better person. Made her get out of that low-life stage she'd been suffering through.

We arrived about an hour later. The smell of apple pie and cider fled through the air. I strapped Henry's official vest on, and placed Meredith's sunglasses on her face.

We enjoyed the day singing cheesy songs on a hay rack ride, and stuffing our faces with carmel apples. We picked out more pumpkins than I could imagine. The sizes ranged from large to small, and everything in between.

But the smile that was spread across her face was something I may never forget. It was the first time I had seen her so happy in a long time. I placed my hand on hers as I left one on the steering wheel.

Her grin grew wider, making one appear on my face as well. "This was a much-needed afternoon. And it was spent perfectly." she said. "I couldn't agree more." I replied kissing her hand.

We pulled into the drive, and it was around 7:00 in the evening. I placed all the pumpkins accordingly in the way Meredith was trying to picture them.

"I think that's all of them Mer." I said hauling in a few mini's. "We can put the small ones on the dining room table." she suggested. Making about the fourth cup of coco today, we sat on the porch soaking in the rest of the astounding day.

Cool wind blew and more leaves fell from the trees. The sun disappeared, and the stars were out. We sat in silence, but it was nice. As I glared up at the sky, a shooting star, the brightest I had ever seen, dashed across the sky.

It shined so bright it was almost like the sun in the afternoon. The moment was almost has if being in a slow motion action scene in a movie.

I flinched and looked away, but the sound of Meredith's mug breaking turned my attention towards her. "Meredith what's wong?" I said, as she covered her eyes and winced in pain.

She was shaky with her words, and tears flowed uncontainably out of her eyes. "I-I can see." she stuttered. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I noticed that she had not been wearing her sunglasses since we had gotten home.

"M-Mer, are you serious?" I asked. She nodded her head quickly, and looked straight into my eyes, something that hadn't happen in a long time.

Everything about that moment was perfect. We sat there, holding each other, and crying in one another's arms. They were tears of joy, happiness, and relief. "I c-can see."

She said once more, I held her face in my hands. "Yes, yes you can." I said bracing her into another hug. This was it. This was my moment. This was everything, everything I could ask for.

I released myself from the embrace, and back up to present myself in front of her. I pulled a velvet box from my coat pocket, and got on one knee.

She cried, even more than before. "Meredith Amarisa Lanagen. You are my person. You are my real-life hero, my go-to, and my heart. Everyday you amaze me more, not only with you intelligence that never fails to shock me, but with your beauty as well.

I want to spend the rest of my days with you. I want you to be the person that I see first thing in the morning. I want to sit around and be lazy, get ourselves tangled in blankets with you. I want to start a family, I want to go on adventures, seek the world with you.

I can't imagine a day without you. A day without seeing you smile. A day without your magnificent touch, your contagious laugh, and your wonderful dancing. You're the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and I never want to lose you. So Meredith Lanagen,

will you marry me?"

She nodded her head multiple times, while covering her mouth, shaking uncontrollably. "Yes, yes, of course yes!" she said pulling me into a powerful kiss. This was the type of heat-warming hug you never wanna pull yourself from.

Taking a breath of air, we looking up at the sky. Glowing with such power. "It was her." she said, "It was my sister." Looking down at her staring up into the sky with amazement brought me great joy. There was no doubt in my mind, nothing that could have ever changed it. I have the most wonderful woman, a man could ever ask for.

"Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.

I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow".

So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all yellow.

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into
Something beautiful,
Do you know,
You know I love you so,
You know I love you so.

I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
'Cause you were all yellow,

I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all yellow.

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into
Something beautiful,
Do you know,
For you I'd bleed myself dry,
For you I'd bleed myself dry.

It's true,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do."
