You sat by yourself at a booth, sipping the water the hostess had brought you. You watched the new trainee stumble out to your table.
"Hello, my name is Liam. Can I take your order?" He said in an uncomfortable robotic voice, as if the words were being forced out of him.
"Oh, honey," you cooed, drumming your claws on the table. "Of course you can take my order."
His face didn't lose its unamused expression as he took notice of your claws. "You're her."
"Her?"
"You're that evil Alpha that Scott warned me about."
He was doing his best to keep a strong face, but you heard the speed of his heart rate, and noticed him tapping his pen against the ordering pad.
"Evil is a strong word, honey," you took another sip of water. "I'm just a little bad."
"Bad and evil are the same thing," he said. You smiled at his confusion.
"You'll learn the difference one day, honey."
He looked from side to side, as if waiting for something to happen.
"I make you nervous?" You asked.
"No," his heart rate spiked.
"No need to be afraid, honey. I wouldn't dare hurt you."
"Why not?"
"Because you're cuter than I'd expected," you smirked.
He looked more angry than flattered, making you smile again. You put your feet up on the booth and relaxed.
"Whatever you're planning on doing in Beacon Hills," he said. "It's not going to work.
"Who said I was planning anything?" You stuck your nose up into the air. "Maybe I'm just here to flirt with a cute boy."
"Maybe I'm just here to take your order."
"Ouch," you said, putting your hand over your heart, pouting. "That hurt."
"Not as much as it's gonna hurt if you stay here."
"Oh, honey," you purred. "I don't think you're going to hurt me."
"Why not?" That confused look snuck back across his face.
"Because you can't," you took another sip of water.
"Is that so?"
"It is so."
He narrowed his eyes. "Are you going to order or am I going to have to charge you for a glass of water?"
"Yes, I'm going to order. I know you haven't been doing this for very long, but werewolves do actually eat."
He laughed, and then quickly straightened out his face as if he had made a deadly mistake, and he had. Because in that moment, he had humanized both of you.
You opened the menu and took a look inside, letting your fingers glide across the pages. "Hmm, I'll take the veggie burger."
"Any sides?"
"Scott McCall's head on a plate," you smiled widely, and he sighed.
"Cute."
"You too," you winked. "And fries. I'll take fries."
