ADULTHOOD (Early Stage): IT IS THE AGE WHEN A CHILDS GROWS UP FULLY. HE BECOMES MATURE AND SENSIBLE , HE CAN SEE THE THINGS FOR WHAT THEY ARE. HE BECOMES RESPONSIBLE. THE IMMATURITIY IS REPLACED WITH SERIOUSNESS AND AMBITION TO ACHIEVE NAME AND FAME.
BEING ADULT IS NOT ONLY ACHIEVEING THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN BUT WITH IT COMES RESPONSIBILITY AND MANY OTHER DUTIES. IT IS A VERY CRUCIAL STAGE IN ONE'S LIFE, ONE WRONG DECISION AND EVERYTHING IS RUINED.
(Previous chapter's young girl POV)
It was a usual summer day with sun blazing in sky and harsh warm winds were blowing ferociously. The weather was at its worst yet it could not stop their families from having reunion. It had been a very long time since she last saw her family.
It was not long after see saw her whole family, that she realized how much she had missed them.
It felt really great to reconnect with all her cousins. Her Aunts and Uncles wouldn't stop with all that "OMG how much have you grown up...." like common on its not like you haven't seen me for last 15 years.
She looked around the room her eyes searching. A loud laughter caught her attention , she turned to see where it was coming from and it was not too long that she found the source of that laughter. She couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her as she took in the scene before her.
Her young teen sister for whom she was searching for had somehow found her way to the notorious uncle of theirs' , that man knew no limits. When someone was trapped in his crutches it was really hard to escape him, he'll irritate you till you fell like destroying anything and everything within reach and pulling your hair since her uncle himself was bald.
Her sister's look was one of the deer caught in headlight. Since her sister had been born they had hardly visited any family of theirs' as life took a different turn after her birth for them. She was lucky in many terms for the family, but right now it looked like she herself was in need of luck.
Shaking her head and still chuckling she made beeline towards her uncle to protect her baby sis even though she was hardly a baby. She cleared her throat to turn their attention towards her as she neared them.
"Oh my, you sure have grown up" oh! not again, if one more person said the same thing I'll turn a murderer. I don't know what they mean by repeating this line I haven't changed a single bit in last six years.
"How are you, uncle? It's been long."
"I am fine, healthy as a horse!"
'More like donkey and annoying as monkey...' she heard her sister mutter. She couldn't help but snicker at that. Her sister was something else, always up for a fight. No one could win in an argument with her. She sure had a way with her. She had a power to make one agree with her even when one didn't want to, but she was so ingenious and witty that you wouldn't even know how she turned your opinions and molded them according to her wish. At such a young age she sure was really something else to have such talent.
But even her skills won't help her as their uncle was such a mule who had rock filled brain. He had no brain but was that kind of person who had creepy face and even more creepy questions to ask.
Like this one time while playing with her cousins she stumbled upon him and he asked her "Do your mommy and daddy wrestle a lot?"
At that time she didn't know what he meant, it was also the time her mother was expecting her sister. But the matter of fact is who asks a nine year old such question? That was crazy and sign of dumbness.
"I would love to talk to you , but mum and dad were planning on taking leave which is why I am here" she turned towards her sister and said "Let's go, they are waiting for you. Bye uncle. See you... never" which she muttered under her breathe.
"Are we really leaving?" her sister asked sadly, looks like someone really enjoyed the reunion.
"Yes we are, though I don't really know why so soon? Its hardly a two are drive, we could leave in evening when its bit cooler and still be home before sunset. God only knows why the hurry?"
"That's really strange and now that I think about it, I did hear Papa speaking with someone on phone about meeting them in the evening. I guess that's why they want to leave soon."
"Let's not ponder over such tiny matter, let's go we are already late as it is."
Car ride back home was full of fun, even some of their cousins decided to head home early and came with them making the ride even more joyous as the saying says 'the more the merrier' .
As soon as they arrived their father and mother freshened up and got ready to go out.
"We going to meet your in laws" they dropped the bomb on the young girl, freezing her on the spot.
"Okay" she replied indifferently. Marriage had turned to be a sour subject for her and instead of reacting loudly as she did she had sorted to being indifferent towards it. Till then it had went well the indifferent approach.
As soon as they left, their cousin came and asked if they would like to go to the market, stroll around and have some delicious street food. They excitedly went towards their destination of delicious street food.
"First thing first, let's go have some yummy mouth watering Gol Guppe(Indian snack and really very tasty, all Indians' agree..) " their cousin exclaimed to which she received very hungry and anticipating looks from both the sisters.
After enjoying their food and on the way back home they saw ice-cream vendor, seriously anyone would be fool to deny chilly sweet treat as ice cream in such blazing summers. They were moaning with delight as they licked and savored it's sweet and chilled taste when a loud shrill of the teen's phone broke them out of there euphoria, teen stared at her phone for some time confused and then answered it.
"out".... "ice-cream parlor".... "okay"...
"Well looks like you'll be meeting your supposedly husband today , sister. "
"What!???" she couldn't hide her surprise at the fact.
---------------------time skip-----------------------
As she sat in amongst the group of middle aged people, she couldn't help but feel awkward and isolated. How she wished she had brought her sister along....
Looking around to take a look at all the people present in the room she could not stop herself from wondering 'where this supposedly perfect husband of her was?'
As soon as the thought asked her a knock sounded, efficiently silencing the chit chatter around her. A young man in his early twenties stepped inside with a warm smile on his face. He looked vaguely familiar. Where had she seen him? One think was for sure she knew him and quite well as she never remembered passing by faces unlike her sister.
Her train of thoughts came to a halt when her father addressed her and asked her to go to talk to him privately.
This is perfect! Was the first thought that came to her mind. She can simply tell the guy her opinion about the marriage and all of this will be over for once and for all.
"Hi, you haven't changed one bit you know..." the guys started the conversation as soon as they were out of the earshot of both their families.
"huh.... It's not like you knew me before for coming onto that conclusion"
The guy looked at her strangely before a laugh escaped him "How foolish of me! I knew well you are not good with faces and yet here I am expecting you to remember me. "
She gave him a tight smile and came straight to the point "I don't want to marry you."
"Why? If I may ask..."
"I want to stand on my own do a job"
"I really don't understand what it had to do with your refusal to marriage..."
She looked at him blankly as if asking him to understand, which he did.
"You can do job even after the marriage but I suggest you start before marriage that way you will be somewhat established before marriage. It's not like we are in hurry to marry we are what! hardly Twenty Three.... That's too young age to get married"
She stared at him totally shocked but so many emotions were swirling inside of her. She looked like she had won a jackpot, which in a way she had as the guy was no less that a jackpot to her.
Suddenly she flung herself in his arms and hugged him so tightly as if he was her lifeline. And as fast as she had hugged him she moved away and packed quite a punch to him jaw.
He was utterly shocked by her behavior, the girl for sure had issues. "You jerk, you could have just told me your name and saved us so much of time." She exclaimed with a knowing smile.
He felt himself on cloud nine as soon as those words left her. The young girl remembered the guy and could really not believe her luck! they were always meant for each other, she couldn't have asked for better guy.
"I missed you" she said.
"I missed you too...." he replied.
And with that they moved ahead towards a future and a life totally new to them ....
No one's likes to fail but you don't worry about it, if someone always has your back....
