Marilyn’s POV
It was Niall but I something was wrong, I could hear it in his voice.
“Marilyn…” he said
“Niall? What’s wrong? What number is this?” I asked.
“It’s Zayn. We’re at the hospital.”
My heart dropped.
“What happened? Is he okay? Let me talk to him. Is he dead?”
“He’s in the hospital…”
“What happened?” I asked him, tears rolling down my face.
“We were practicing for a show tonight & he took one step too many & fell off the stage. He hit his head on the corner on the way down. He’s in a coma, mare. Doctors say it doesn’t look good. You need to come here, tonight.” He told me.
I started bawling my eyes out. After a few seconds I sucked up my tears, wiped my eyes, & took a deep breath. I had to be strong, for Zayn. “Okay. Where are you guys & what time should you come?”
“We bought a ticket for you already. Thought we’d save you the trouble. It leaves from the airport at 11 pm tonight. I emailed you the ticket information so all you have to do is pack.” He told me.
“I’ll be there. Niall, keep him safe. Make sure nothing happens to him until I get there. You hear me? That boy is everything to me. I need him. Without him, I don’t know what I’d do. Tell him I need him, he can’t leave me now. I don’t know if he can hear anything but if he can I need him to know that. Tell him I love him & I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
“I’ll try Mare. I promise, I’ll try. Just don’t miss that plane. He needs you right now.”
“Bye Niall, I’ll see you soon. “ I said before I hung up the phone.
I hopped out of my seat & stated packing as fast I could. I pulled the old suitcase out from under my bed & threw it on my bed. I packed a pair of jeans, sweatpants, loads of underwear, any shirt I could find, bras, socks, my flip flops, & a hoodie. I didn’t know what the weather was like wherever they were so just to be safe I brought my winter jacket. I was almost ready just had to get the stuff from my bathroom. It was already 8 o’clock & with traffic it’ll take me at least 2 hours to get to the airport.
I went to the bathroom. Got my tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, hair products. Moving to my drawers under the sink I saw my tampons. Then I realized… I hadn’t gotten my period. I should have gotten a last week. “What if I’m pregnant?” I said outloud.
“Pregnant?!” my mother said from the bathroom doorway.
