In the dark I hear the voices
I see the demons
Their contorted faces flashing before my eyes.
In the light of day,
I feel their darkness all around me.
It penetrates the air around me, choking me up.
They feed on my fear.
Their voices scratching at the edge of my mind.
Fighting their way in.
They delight in the look in my eyes.
Their maniacal laughter filling up my mind,
Driving me close to the edge of insanity.
I see the scratches on my skin, and wonder.
I have become the demons I fear.
They have inhabited my soul.
My mind is clouded by a darkness so pure and true,
It is utterly complete.
I look in the mirror and what I see scares me.
It's not me I see anymore.
The face staring back at me is hideous
Her eyes are the darkest of black, and not my beautiful browns.
I want to scream, but my voice is lost.
They have taken that from me too.
I want to be free of this living hell in my mind.
I'm afraid to sleep, they crawl into my dreams and torment my mind.
They are everywhere.
The demons my fear created.
I can almost taste the darkness they radiate.
Soaking into the pores of my skin.
Delving into my veins and corrupting my blood.
I cut myself and see the thick dark blood flowing out.
It's too late.
I'm huddled in a corner of the bathroom, too weak to fight my fear.
I let the voices echo in my head.
I let them laugh as I bleed on the tile.
I created you fear, I let you in my mind.
Torment me with your demons.
Soon the dark poison in my blood will seep out.
I will bleed you away. I created you,
I can destroy you.
I might bleed to death, but what matters is that I didn't let you kill me...fear.
We die together.
