Wonwoo's p.o.v.
"I wish this could all be over with." I complained as I laid my head on Mingyu's shoulder.
"I know you do." Mingyu said wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "It will be over soon."
"Not soon enough." I complain again and Mingyu sighed. "I don't want to do this."
"Why not?" Mingyu asked. "I understand that you don't want to go over everything that happened but you'll get some justice for what has happened to you over all those years."
"I don't want justice." I said. "I just want to forget. This isn't helping me on my path to forgetting."
"Then why did you agree to press charges?" Mingyu asked.
"I knew it was what I should do, despite not wanting to." I told him. "Plus the manager was pushing me to do it."
"Well you didn't have to listen to him." Mingyu said. "You could have said no."
"I know that." I said. "It's just that I knew I should and I'll probably feel better knowing that he can't hurt me, or anyone else, anymore."
Mingyu didn't respond so the two of us just sat there, waiting to be able to enter the courtroom.
My mother sat across the hallway from Mingyu and I. She smiled as she saw how calm I was with Mingyu. It's true. I am very calm with Mingyu. He has this comforting thing about him. I don't know what it is but he's calms me so I'm not questioning anything.
I'm not sure where S.coups went. I think he went with the manager, wherever he went. They'll be back before everything starts though so there's no need to worry.
"We're shooting the music video in a couple days." Mingyu said, obviously trying to make some sort of conversation.
"Yeah, we will." I replyed blankly.
"How do you feel about the choreography?" Mingyu asked.
I had missed a lot of practice time with all the lawyer meetings and everything.
"Pretty good." I said. "There are a couple parts I'm not quite confident on but Hoshi has agreed to help me with them tonight."
"Well that's good then."
"Guys." Our manager called to us and we both looked up at him. "It's time now."
Mingyu and I both stood up, as well as my mother, and the five of us entered the courtroom. My lawyer was already seated at the front and so was my father and his lawyer.
S.coups, Mingyu, and my mother sat in the first row where as our manager sat a few rows back.
I continued walking and sat with my lawyer.
"Will I need to answer any questions today?" I asked as he continued looking over some documents.
"I won't be wanting to ask anything but if your father's lawyer wants to ask you questions then he will." He said before giving a small smile. "I'm sure even if he does ask questions there won't be many."
I nodded and sat patiently for the court session to start.
After a few minutes the judge arrived and everything started.
Mingyu was the first to go up. He told what he saw that night before my lawyer went to talk to him.
"Could you please state your relationship with Wonwoo-sshi please."
"We're in the same idol group together." Mingyu hesitated for a moment. "We're also dating."
"Alright so you spend a lot of time with him?" The lawyer asked and Mingyu nodded. "Has he told about any of the events from his past?"
"Yes, a few months ago he was frequently getting nightmares." Mingyu said. "At first he wouldn't tell me what they were about but eventually he did tell me."
"What were the nightmares about?"
"They were about the things his father did to him." Mingyu said bitterly. "Most of the time it was just like memories."
"Most of the time?" My lawyer asked and actually sounded confused.
Weren't they already supposed to have everything plan out. Mingyu looked shocked by what he just said. As if he wasn't supposed to say it.
"I-I don't think I should stay." Mingyu started stuttering. "I-it's not my place."
Mingyu made eye contact with me and I nodded to tell him it was alright for him to tell them.
Mingyu sighed before continuing. "It's a hard thing to explain."
"Go ahead."
"Basically he dreamt that went we went to his home that his father would do something and-" Mingyu stopped talking.
"And, what?"
"We would all watch and laugh at him." Mingyu finished.
I looked down at my lap to avoid looking at the people in the jury who were probably looking at me.
"I see." My lawyer said. "You were the first one in the room, correct?"
Mingyu nodded. "Yes I was. I pulled Mr. Jeon off of Wonwoo hyung."
"From what you saw, would you have thought it was only the second time it happened?"
"No, it seemed Mr. Jeon was prepared and knew exactly how to stop Wonwoo hyung from trying to move or leave." Mingyu spoke bitterly.
"How exactly did you see this?"
"He had put fabric in Wonwoo hyung mouth so he couldn't yell for help and also handcuffs so he could push him away." Mingyu said. "I also noticed more of the same things had been placed on the end table. I'm guessing in case he need to tie his legs or something like that."
"Obviously he wouldn't know he needed all this stuff if it had only happened one other time." My lawyer said and Mingyu nodded. "That's all."
My father's lawyer stood up and walked towards where Mingyu was sitting. I don't think this will turn out well.
"After you pulled my client away you beat him and knocked him unconscious, correct?" He asked.
"Yes, but-" Mingyu was cut off.
"That's all."
"Let me finish!" Mingyu yelled, surpising everyone. "I didn't want too. I only did it because he was trying to run away and he needs to face what he's done."
"Why didn't you want to do it?"
"I knew Wonwoo hyung would be upset if I did." Mingyu said and looked at me with sad eyes. "Despite all his father has done Wonwoo hyung still doesn't want to see him hurt."
"I see." My father's lawyer said and sat down.
S.coups went up next and basically just confirmed everything Mingyu had already said.
Then it was my mother turn. She answer the same type of questions about that night. Although, the last question caught me off guard.
"Did you have any knowledge that any of this abuse was happening to your son?" My lawyer asked.
"Yes." My mother said and looked down.
She knew.
She knew and did nothing.
I felt tears in my eyes but I kept them from falling.
"One day I heard my husband yelling but I couldn't understand what he was saying. He was in Wonwoo's room so I went there." My mother pasued of a moment. "The yelling stopped before I got to his room but I was there in time to see my husband start hitting our son."
"Why didn't you contact the police?"
"I didn't want to believe what I saw was true." My mother said with tears rolling down her cheeks. "I made myself believe that Wonwoo had done something terrible and that it was a one time thing. I know it's a terrible thing to think and no child should be hit for any reason but I couldn't bare the thought of my husband doing something like that. He was always so nice and kind and caring."
"Obviously your husband changed before closed doors."
I can't believe that she knew and did nothing.
Once the court was over we quickly left and headed for the practice stuido.
"Are you okay?" Mingyu asked.
I shook my head and my tears started actually falling this time.
"How could she have known and not done anything?" I asked, knowing I'd not get an answer. "Even if she didn't know everything that was happening, any form of abuse is still abuse!"
"I know." Mingyu said and pulled me to his chest where I cried for the rest of the drive.

Dun dun dun!
I got my hair cut today and I'm really really happy! It's not what I originally had in mind but the hairdresser and I talked for awhile and decided it would look the best to cut it a different way because of my face shape and glasses.
