Phil enters in the structure that now he knows perfectly. doctors are good there, and they tried everything to fix his mess but it's a thing that you can't.. just fix. so when he finds a free chair he sits down and waits.
"I'm going to do something, can I take you home later and leave you alone now?" Cat asks looking at the new decorations in the room.
"yeah, okay." Phil just answers playing with his phone.
"call me if you need something." Cat smiles and goes away.
Phil doesn't know what to do now, he surely will be annoyed. it's okay. someone enters in the room, he can feel it by the sounds.
"come on it's embarrassing and I can do it alone!" a male voice (he guesses) says.
"I just want to help you, shut up." this time a formale voice answers making Phil giggle. he feels some movements and he thinks that someone seated next to him, in fact the voices are now nearest. "I'll leave you alone now, call me when-"
"thank god," Dan answers ironically. "bye."
"she was just trying to help you." Phil says.
"sorry?" Dan turns around. "oh, hi. I didn't imagine there was someone."
"it's okay." he giggles slightly.
"I'm not good with conversations, I've never had one with another person in weeks." Dan sobs.
"are you blind too?"
"yeah."
"good."
"it's a shit. I want to see colors again."
"what do you mean with again?" Phil asks confused.
"I wasn't born like this, and I know what colors looks like."
"can you explain me it?"
"me? uh, I don't think-" he tries to say but Phil interrupts him.
"I know that it's hard but now you're blind so you understand what it feels like, I've never seen a color since I was born and I really want to. please."
"well." Dan giggles. "tell me a color."
"blue."
"blue? blue is cold, it reminds me of the snow and the sky. or maybe someone's eyes, I don't know. I really like blue eyes."
"I have blue eyes, I guess. Cat says me that."
"who's Cat?"
"why do you want to know it?" Phil laughs. "she helps me at home."
"I thought it was your soulmate."
"I don't have one."
"same."
"coincidences, weird."
Dan chuckles. "I am Dan."
"I'm Phil." Phil answers and raises his arm.
"what are you doing?" Dan asks confused as he feels that he's moving.
"don't people usually take other people's hand when they meet them?"
"oh, yeah. I forgot." Dan giggles and looks for his hand, when he finds it he holds it. "Jesus, you're cold."
"like blue?" Phil smiles.
"it feels like blue."
"what does red feels like?"
"red? red is.. hot. it's like, when two people kiss or, you know, do the stuff. it's.. comfortable."
"I've never tried red, why do I always feel like blue?" Phil asks.
"I think." Dan begins, still holding Phil's cold hand with his warm one. "I think it's because.. I don't know."
"it's okay."
"it was nice to meet you." Dan says.
"you too." Phil answers smiling. "I have meet other blinds but they all were arrogant and stupids.. I didn't like them."
"and do you like me?" Dan giggles.
"I do, kinda."
"wow, thanks."
"LESTER!" the nurse yells and I get up.
"it's me." I say trying to reach her, even if I don't know where I'm going.
"uh, wait I help you." Dan says taking my arm.
"we are literally both blind." I giggle.
"I'll accompany you." he says. "please."
"why?"
"I'm tired of feeling.. blue."
"blue?"
"alone."
"oh." Phil just says, the nurse watches at them like 'have you finished?' but of course, neither of them can see her so they do nothing. "okay."
she accompany them to the doctor and they enter in, then sit down.
"Phil, it's nice to see you again!" the doctor giggles patting his back.
"I can't say the same." Phil jokes. "and, please hurry up."
"just some minutes, don't worry. who's your friend?" he asks, checking Phil's eyes with a weird machine.
"I'm Dan, I have a visit too." Dan talks.
"Howell?" the doctor asks and Dan nods so he continues to talk. "it's okay, I can't visit two people at the same time but.. for two old costumers I can."
"thank god." Phil adds ironically.
"why are you always so angry?" the doctor asks.
"angry? I'm not.. angry. I'm tired."
"yeah." he says. "you're okay, like always."
"thanks." Phil says getting up so he can check Dan too.
"be careful, if you walk without knowing where you're going you'll do troubles."
"I know this room like I know my house, thanks." Phil blurts annoyed.
"oh Dan, you're more terrible that the usual. your eyes are red and.. weird." the doctor says shaking his head. "we have technologies to fix these but it's not that simple, you have to take vitamins and be careful and your eyes are not hydrated at all."
"I'm a shit, basically." Dan giggles.
"basically, take the medicines. how's your arm going?"
"I'm fine."
"arm?" Phil asks.
"it's okay, it was nice to see you." Dan says to the doctor, going out. Phil reaches him and takes his stink so he can, at least, not fall to the ground.
"Dan, wait!" he yells and take his arm. "where are you going?"
"home." he just says. "let me call my mother."
"wait." Phil says, this time regressing his voice. "take a coffee with me."
"a coffee with you?" he asks.
"yes, please."
"okay."
"really?"
"really. but, how do we reach a Starbucks?" Dan asks chuckling.
"taxi." Phil just says, he asks for the nurse to call them a taxi so, when it arrives, they get in and ask the man for the nearest Starbucks.
for the entire time they shut up. Phil thinks, why did he meet a stranger and why does he want to talk with him for an entire day? he doesn't even know, but.. he needs it. he needs someone to stay with, a friend.
