“Have I mentioned how weird this is?”

I nodded, parking the car in the senior parking lot on Wednesday morning with Owen in the passenger seat with his head back and his eyes closed in annoyance to try and prove his point. “Yep, you have, O. Like, a billion times, actually.”

“Right, because it’s just so incredibly weird that I feel like it’s necessary to remind you every ten minutes so that maybe you’ll actually start to see how weird it really is and then maybe you’ll stop being weird.” Owen explained, getting out of the car as I did, locking the car with the remote thingy that was on the key chain, which made the car honk to let me know that it was locked.

“And you’re probably the most dramatic person ever, Owen. You’ve known that this was going to happen for a week or so and I say this with all of the sisterly love in my heart- get over it.” I sighed, walking side by side with my brother into the school, which is one of the rare times that we actually walked together into the school.

“I can’t get over it, and I actually refuse to get over it. Oh, and I’m not dramatic.” He defended. “It’s just weird.”

I rolled my eyes at him because we had been discussing my and Todd’s relationship for the past fifteen minutes- the whole drive to school- and he was just so stubborn about the whole thing. I couldn’t figure out why it was bothering him so much, but then again, I could kinda see it- me dating his best friend, but he was being such a big baby about it. “Look, I get that it might be weird for you, and I love you, O, I do, but your feelings aren’t really on my mind when I’m thinking about my boyfriend choices. Todd is really sweet and he makes me happy… and I’m not saying that it’s forever- obviously, I don’t know how long it’ll last- and I’d like to think that for the time being, I make him happy too and I’d also like to think that we’re like, two of the most important people in your life because you’re definitely in my top three, so that should be enough, I think.”

He let out a long breath through his nose as we fought through the throngs of people in the hallways, which is especially hard to do in the mornings because everyone is already so grouchy about being up so early and being stuck in school that they just pummel through the hallways like irritable bulldozers or something. “That was too sentimental for this early in the morning.”

I laughed and then shrugged innocently. “I was forced into it- it’s your fault.” I chimed, waving him a goodbye since we had to split paths to go to our separate first period classes. Well, I had to stop by my locker first but then I was going to go to class.

When I got to my locker, though, Todd was already there waiting for me with a small smile on his face which in turn, made me smile even larger.

“Hey,” I piped, spinning the dial on my locker to get out my books for my morning classes. “How do you even know where my locker is?”

He shrugged, making him seem all mysterious, which I’m sure was his goal. “I’ve been to your locker before.”

“Have you?” I wondered with one raised eyebrow. I couldn’t ever remember I time where he was at my locker or anything, but I could be pretty forgetful, so that’s understandable, I guess.

Todd nodded and once I shut my locker, I felt all of my books being taken from my arms by him. “I have.”

“You don’t have to carry my books, you know,” I giggled. I mean, it wasn’t much- just a small text book and a few notebooks- so I didn’t have any problems carrying it or anything so I don’t know why he had taken them from me.

He situated the stuff so that my stuff was stacked onto his stuff and that left his right hand open, which he quickly filled by pulling my hand into his. “I’m going to anyway,” He informed me with a playful grin, sweeping down and kissing my cheek lightly, causing me to giggle once more.

We started walking down the still-crowded hallway towards my first period class and I just assumed that his class was that way too- since he was obviously walking that way with me. “Okay then,” I muttered giddily.

He smiled down at me and tightened his hand around mine, so I returned the gesture, noticing a few people looking in our direction but not that many. “So how was your morning?” He wondered randomly.

“It was fine, I guess. Owen’s still being a little girl about this, though.”

“That’s okay,” Todd shrugged. “He’ll get used to it eventually, don’t you think?”

I nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I think so. Anyway, how was your morning then?”

“Boring,” He sighed. “I mean, until now of course, because you aren’t boring.”

I laughed at how adorably cheesy he was being and rested my head on his shoulder as we walked. “That’s adorable of you.”

“Duh,” He snorted teasingly as we stopped in front of my first period class and I took my books back out of his hands so that we could part ways for our separate classes.

The morning went by quickly and I couldn’t help but think that it was because of my amazing mood and amazing situation because I was just so happy and excited for lunch to come around so that I could see Todd again. And that made me sound so incredibly cheesy and stupid but I really couldn’t help it. I was going through that bubblegum stage of a relationship and, even though I hated it when my friends endured this time in a relationship, I couldn’t help but fall victim to it.

“Let’s go out for lunch,” Todd suggested as we got inside to the cafeteria but before we actually sat down at a table.

I nodded in agreement since it would be a hassle to decide if we should sit with my friends or his, and it would probably end up being mine, since it would be weird to sit with my brother there and still pouting about us being together and everything. “How about Tim Horton’s?”

Todd laughed and we turned, leaving the cafeteria again, which probably looked weird, to walk into the cafeteria and then right back out. He held my hand in his again, which was sweet, I thought, and we made our way towards the senior lot to his car. “You want donuts for lunch?”

I shrugged. “Do you have a problem with donuts?”

“No, but I have a problem with having donuts for lunch,” He rebutted with amusement as we drove away from the school.

“Fine,” I sighed dramatically. “You choose then.”

“How about Wendy’s?”

I agreed with another snarky comment about donuts sounding really good right now, he just laughed it off and we went to Wendy’s, which I was also okay with, because I really loved their Frostys.

“So, what are you doing after practice tonight?” Todd asked me as we sat at our table in Wendy’s. There weren’t a lot of people there, but there were two other groups of seniors there for their lunch period and then an old couple and some business men, but because the place was surprisingly large, it seemed kind of empty.

“I’m studying with Braeden,” I sighed, chomping down on my salty fries.

Todd frowned in confusion. “Braeden? Why?”

“Because we’re doing a partner project in anatomy and we have to study before we actually do the project.” I informed him. “We’ve been dating for less than twenty-four hours and you’re already getting jealous?” I giggled teasingly.

He smirked at me before shaking his head. “I’m not jealous, I was just curious.”

“Sure thing,” I sang, even though I knew that he wasn’t actually jealous, it was just fun to tease him.

We sat there and had lunch but we went back to school a little bit earlier than necessary so that we could make out in the parking lot for a little bit and then go back into the school to continue the day.

The rest of the day didn’t go as fast as the first half and that was probably because I wouldn’t really see Todd at all for the rest of the day, since I had to do that partner thing with Braeden. And it wasn’t like I was dreading hanging out with Braeden, I would just rather be with my boyfriend is all.

After practice was over, I sat in the passenger seat to our house and then I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before going upstairs with Braeden to start on our anatomy project. Owen wouldn’t let me ride with Todd in his car, even though he was just following Owen’s car to our house, but I didn’t push him too much on it because it wasn’t really that big of a deal and I didn’t want to annoy Owen any more than necessary about this whole dating Todd thing.

“So where do we start?” Braeden wondered, plopping down on my bed as I sat down in my office chair and wheeled it over to the bed and we had our papers sprawled out between us to study.

“First, we have to memorize the body parts,” I informed him, looking at the paper with all of the anatomical terms of simple body parts.

“Okay, what body parts though?” He laughed at my vagueness.

“Where’s your paper?” I wondered.

“I’m not looking at it because I already know it all,” He joked with a small smirk.

“Oh, alrighty then, Mr. Smarty Pants,” I chuckled, looking at the paper for one of the hard ones. “What’s this?” I asked him, pointing to my knee.

“That’s a knee, Dakota,” He informed me as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

“Wrong!” I chirped quickly. “That is a patellar, and the back of the knee is the popliteal. So you don’t know them.”

“What kind of names are those?” Braeden laughed. “Those are ridiculous.”

I nodded in agreement. “Very true, but we still gotta know them. And once we know all 40-whatever terms, we get to figure out what we’re gonna do for our project. Okay, this one is easy- what’s this?” I asked him, pointing to my wrist.

“You’re, um, wrist?”

“Braeden,” I sighed heavily. “Anatomical terms. It’s your carpal.”

He frowned in confusion. “How is that easy?”

“Well, like carpel tunnel is in your wrist, so that’s how you can remember it.”

“This is impossible,” Braeden informed me.

I rolled my eyes. “No it’s not, just focus. Oh! This one is super easy- belly button is umbilical. You know, like umbilical cord.”

“Okay sure, that one’s kinda easy.” He nodded.

“I have an idea,” I piped. “Close your eyes.”

He gave me a cautions frown. “Why?”

“Just do it,” I whined.

He sighed and then closed his eyes, but he was still anxious to see what I was going to do.

“Ready?” I asked him.

He shook his head. “Nope.”

“Good,” I giggled, clenching my hand into a fist and then throwing it into his belly button. “UMBILICAL!” I screamed.

Braeden’s eyes shot open and he jumped from the surprise of me punching him in the stomach. “Ow, what was that for?”

“Now, whenever you think of your belly button, you’ll think of me, screaming ‘umbilical’ at you.” I chirped with a grin and an innocent giggle because I thought that I was just so hilarious. “My plan is fool proof. Next is nasal.”

He laughed and shook his head. “No, I think I can figure out nasal without breaking my nose, thank you.”

“Okay then,” I sang, pushing myself forward and groping both of his man boobs. Well, he obviously didn’t have man boobs, but I was grabbing where he would have boobs if he had them, if that makes any sense.

“What are you doing now?” He wondered again, confused like a little puppy, which was so adorable and amusing to me.

“Mammary.” I announced, squeezing his non-existent man boobs before releasing them and sitting back up. “Now, whenever you think of boobs, you’ll think of me sexually assaulting you and saying ‘mammary’. I’m actually a genius, this plan is amazing.” I gloated teasingly.

“Do I get to grab your boobs now?” Braeden asked jokingly, grabbing his own paper that had all of the terms listed on it.

I laughed at his joke and shook my head. “Nope, you can’t. But choose another one, and no hitting.”

“I wouldn’t hit you,” He rolled his eyes at me. “But I have one, I guess.”

“Go for it,” I encouraged, a little nervous as to what he was going to do.

He leaned forward and pinched my cheeks rather hard, but not like, painfully hard. “Buccal.” He stated in a low, weird voice.

“Ouch,” I giggled, swatting his hands away from my cheeks. “What was up with the voice?”

He shrugged. “I dunno, I think it’ll help you remember it more if it’s said in a weird voice.”

Within half an hour, we were both shouting the words on the packet and pointing to where they were on our bodies because that seemed to work for both of us and- according to Braeden- was better than the punching thing, which I thought worked pretty well, but he apparently disagreed.

“ORBITAL!” We shouted, covering our eyes with our hands, because orbital meant eyes.

“FEMORAL!” Was next, but that one was easy to remember because the femoral artery is in your thigh and femoral is thigh, but we were laughing hysterically as we slapped our thighs anyway.

“AXILLARY!” We shouted after that and then hugged ourselves, putting our hands on our armpits because yes- you guessed it- axillary is arm pits.

“Why the hell are you guys yelling?” Todd and Owen wondered, coming into the room without even knocking, which irked me, but I didn’t say anything because I was in a super good mood like I had been all day. I guess screaming body parts for no reason is just a picker upper even when you don’t need a picker upper.

“We’re studying,” I replied simply.

“By screaming?” Owen asked with raised eyebrows.

I nodded, standing up from my office chair and walking over to Owen. “Yes, do you want to see how it works, O?”

“No, I don’t really-“

“FRONTAL!” I screamed, thumping his forehead with my palm, but not hard or anything. “And now you will always remember that frontal means forehead.”

He rubbed his forehead just to try and get me to feel bad for hitting him, but I didn’t even hit him hard, so it didn’t work. “That’s really stupid,” He informed me. “That can’t even work.”

I nodded. “It does.” And then I looked over at Todd. “Do you wanna try? I can teach you inguinal or like, gluteal or something like that,” I giggled at my boyfriend, who was just standing there, subtly laughing along with me, but behind Owen so he couldn’t see Todd laughing, which was kinda funny.

“No, I really don’t want to try. I don’t even take anatomy.” He laughed, shaking his head at me and stepping back to defend himself.

“Yeah, but it’s still fun to let me hit you,” I chirped innocently.

“I can’t say that I agree,” He muttered with a soft chuckle.

Owen rolled his eyes and mumbled something about us flirting in front of us.

“Gosh, O,” I groaned. “Just because we’re having a conversation doesn’t mean that we’re flirting.”

He nodded. “It does, actually.”

“Get. Over. It.” I grumbled at my stubborn, immature brother that I loved dearly. “Anyway, you guys need to get out because we’re not done studying and we still have the whole backside to do.”

“How long will that take?” Todd asked me.

I shrugged. “Maybe another half an hour or something, I guess.”

“Okay, well I gotta get home, so I’ll see you tomorrow then,” He informed me.

“No,” I whined, taking his hand and then leading him into the hallway, shutting the door so that we were in the hallway with the door between us and Owen and Braeden. “If you’re gonna leave, at least let me say goodbye properly.” I muttered, pushing myself onto my tippy toes and pressing my lips on his.

He kissed me back but we kept the kiss short because I didn’t want Owen to come out here and see us like, making out or anything, so I pulled away reluctantly and then kissed his nose for an added measure. “Tomorrow, I’m all yours, I promise. You gotta shower though, because you seriously stink right now.”

“Okay, I’ll shower,” He agreed with a small laugh, kissing my cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He muttered just before walking down the hallway to make his way outside to his car.

I returned to my room and then Owen made a quiet remark about me making out with his friends and then left the room. He better stop with those snide comments soon or I’ll hit my toleration limit or something because they were really getting annoying already.

“Okay, where were we?” I asked Braeden, returning to my office chair across from Braeden as he grinned at me and I knew something was up.

Before  could even question him, he leaned forward and pinched both of my ears in his hands and pulled, which felt weird but he didn’t pull hard enough to hurt or anything and then he screamed in my face, causing me to crack up laughing for no reason at all. “OTIC!”

Hey there! So I have one announcment this lovely Friday and here it goes:

So a lot of people ask me for tips about writing and how they should get started and whatnot. So, what I decided to do is make a third Wattpad profile and it's a bunch of stuff about how I write my stories, so maybe if you wanna start writing but don't know how or something, you could go check that out :P The username is writinghelper

Also! I made a website for a bunch of stuff about how to write, like inspiration and things like that, if you wanna go look at that too, I'll love you forever!

There's also a section in the step by step thing on that profile that's where people give other people tips so even if you don't want to learn how to write and you already know how or you have something you wanna share, you can comment on this chapter or inbox me or something and I'll post it in that story!

I'll leave the links for both the other profile here on Wattpad and the website down in the comments for you to check out :P

Thank you for reading!
