Olivia's POV

People are shit. Everything about them is shit.

I fucking hate going to work.

I hate every thing about it.

Did I mention the people there are shit?

I was just glad to be home after a long day of bullshit.

"Matt? Juliette ? I'm home." I called out but got no response.

"Hello?"

I walked over to the kitchen to find a note:

"Go upstairs to your room ."

At first I thought it was some creep who'd broken into my house and killed my family, but then I realised it was Matt's handwriting...and that his G was written backwards.

I went upstairs to the bedroom I shared with Matt.

There was a note on the bed saying

"Open your closet doors ."

I did as the note had said and there was a beautiful green dress hanging on the hanger. It was made of chiffon and was strapless and around its sweetheart neck were beautiful green gems or stones a few shades darker than the dress. This was almost like the dress I wanted for that dance in freshmen year. My mother said I could get it the next year but that was the year I was forced to drop out because I became pregnant with Juliette. Taped to the hanger was another note.

"Put this on and come to Johnny's Saloon ."

-----

I drove around for about thirty to forty minutes, trying to remember where Johnny's Saloon was. The last time I went there was when I was in high school. We used to go there if our football team had won the game or something like that.

After wandering in the streets like a lost puppy for almost an hour, I finally located my destination.

I got out of the car and walked into the bar. It was pitch black dark and no one was there. Well at least that's what I thought.

"Hello? Is anyone here ?" I asked.

Suddenly the lights were switched on and I took a look around the room to see how it was decorated.

It looked exactly like the dance everyone went to in 10th grade. Everyone but me.

Half the girls in the grade sent me pictures to make me feel bad. Not only of them with their dates, but also of how the auditorium was decorated.

"Do you like it ?"

I turned my head to see Matt standing in a tux.

"I know you never got to go to that dance in the tenth grade because of me and I remember how you were looking forward to it since the beginning of the year, so..here it is." he smiled.

I was speechless. He must've gone through so much trouble to get all this done.

"It's just...wow. Like its amazing. I love it." I smiled at him. "Thank you."

"It gets better." he said, hitting 'play' on the stereo as '(You Want To) Make A Memory' by Bon Jovi started playing, one of my favorite songs.

"May I have this dance ?" he grinned, stretching his arm out.

"Yes you may." I chuckled and held his arm as started to dance.

".....How's your life, it's been a while

God it's good to see you smile.." he mumbled some lyrics as his forehead touched mine.

".....If you go now, I'll understand

If you stay, hey, I got a plan

You wanna make a memory

You wanna steal a piece of time

You could sing a melody to me

And I could write a couple lines

You wanna make a memory.."

I looked into his piercing green eyes and leaned in as he did the same.

He kissed me tenderly and I felt what I never thought I'd ever feel again, especially with him. I couldn't put my finger on it just yet.

He pulled away when his phone rang.

"Sorry." he said.

"Hello ? Yeah. Is it ? Okay fine. Thanks dude."

"Who was that ?" I asked

"It doesn't matter. Come on, I wanna show you something."

He said, grabbing my hand and leaving the saloon.

"It can't possibly get better than that." I told him.

"Just wait and see." he chuckled. "Here put this on." he said giving me a blindfold. I put it on and he walked me to his car.

-----

"Are we there yet ?" I whined.

"No." he chuckled.

"How about now ?"

"No."

"Now ?"

He groaned and said "Yeah we're here."

"Really ?" I said enthusiastically.

"No." he laughed. "I'll let you know when we are."

"Gimme a hint at least to where we're going."

"Okay fine. It's somewhere you'll love."

"Well that didn't help." I laughed.

"Okay okay. We're here."

He got out and opened my door while taking my hand and helping me out.

We started walking and I felt sand between my toes. This could only mean one thing: the beach.

The wind was blowing through my hair and sent shivers down my spine.

"Okay," Matt said while stopping, "take your blindfold off."

I uncovered my eyes and gasped at the beautiful sight. Rose petals lead us to a table for two and in the center was a burning candle. It was right in front of the calm ocean. I looked around spotted a board walk that lead to two little hut type things.

"Heaven ?" I whispered.

Matt chuckled and pulled out my chair.

"Care to take a seat, Ms. Brown ?" he smirked.

"Why thank you Mr. Sanders. How kind of you." I played along.

"Why're you doing all this ?" I asked, smiling.

He began "Well I-"

"May I take your order ?" Jimmy asked while buttoning his tux.

"Jimmy ?" I laughed.

"Well yes, but tonight I prefer to be called 'Mr. Sullivan'." he said boldly, "or waiter, whatever floats your boat. Would you like some live entertainment ?"

"Yeah sure I'd love some." I giggled.

"I won't be a moment." he smiled.

He went to get something and returned shortly.

Well, someone in this case.

He came back with Brian and Johnny, both dressed up as well. Brian reluctantly played some tunes off his violin as Johnny juggled some balls.

Well he tried.

I couldn't help but laugh at how stupid he looked.

Nevertheless, I still appreciated it.

He stopped after a little while and gave us a bow, letting us know that he was done and so did Brian.

Matt and I clapped and laughed a little at both of them.

"Aww poor Johnny. No matter what he does he always gets laughed at." I said.

"Let's eat." Matt smiled.

-----

"So are you enjoying this night so far ?" he asked while smiling.

"I really am. I never thought any one would ever do this for me. Thank you." I said.

"Bet you never thought it'd be me." he said, taking my hand and looking at me.

I stayed quiet for a while and looked at him.

"I never did, honestly." I said.

"But I-I love this, Matt. I really do."

"Feels good to know that I'm the reason you haven't stopped smiling." he smirked.

I thought this side of Matt had died years ago, and that I would never see it ever again.

"Come 'ere. Let's go walk." He took my hand and lead me to the boardwalk.

"You cold ?" he asked.

"A little bit."

"Here." he said, draping his coat around my shoulders.

"But aren't you cold ?" I asked him, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"Not really. Don't worry about me." he grinned, folding his sleeves then putting his hands in his pockets.

"Oh my gosh. I totally forgot about Juliette. Where is she ?!"

"Don't worry about her. Sh-she's with Zacky." He said gently.

"Oh. What is she doing with him?" I asked.

"Uhhhh- he took her to the mall because she was getting bored." He lied.

"Mmkay." I mumbled.

He held my hand and took me to those tiny hut type things at the end of the boardwalk.

It overlooked the calm sea.

"So, do you like everything so far?" Matt asked. It looked like he was playing with something in his pocket.

"So far? You mean there's more ?" I asked in disbelief. He laughed a little.

"Well, yes," he said, "there is." he grinned.

He took my hands in his and faced me.

"Olivia," he whispered. "I'm really glad you enjoyed what I did for you tonight, but its not over yet. It can't be." He looked at me with love, his green eyes sparkled under the moon light. "I'm so grateful that you gave me another chance, even when I clearly didn't deserve one. Thank you for that. I love that about you. I've been with many girls, but whenever you look at me or talk to me, I fall in love with you all over again. You're the only thing that keeps me sane. So, make me the happiest man on earth," he said while getting down on one knee, pulling a small box out of his pocket. He opened it, revealing a beautiful diamond ring, making my jaw drop open, "and tell me you'll marry me." I looked at Matt, my eyes widened.

He looked at me and waited for my response.

"Oh my God- I d-wow," laughed, "I don't know what to say."

"My knee's starting to hurt." he chuckled.

"Oh yeah," I said, I helping him up, "sorry."

"So, what do you say?" he asked, "Will you marry me?"

"Yes." I grinned "I will."

He smiled and pulled me in for a kiss. I felt so, so loved. A feeling that had been missing for far too long, and I guess it's a feeling I'll only feel with one man.

He put the ring on my left ring finger and hugged me.

"I love you," I muttered into the crook of his neck.

"I love you too."

I really don't want this night to end.
