((A/N: Anything that is italicized and inside quotation marks is indeed a text message.))

Elsa layed in her soft bed, peacefully asleep underneath the safe custody of her duvet. It was a cold night, but that didn't really matter. The atmosphere was still perfect for a good rest.

Until, of course, someone chose to ruin her sleep by sending her a text in the middle of the night.

She groaned, fumbling around for her phone, careful not to knock anything down onto the floor. Once she finally grabbed the gadget, it's light shining onto her face, illuminating her dark room, she groaned even louder realizing what time it already is and who the culprit was.

"Hey Els. I can't sleep, what you up to?" the text read. Sender? No other than Jack Frost.

"You loser it's midnight," Elsa typed in reply, irritation boiling in her blood.

After a few seconds, her phone pinged, Jack's new text flashing brightly onto her screen, "That doesn't answer the question."

"I hate you," Elsa typed, before placing her phone on her chest, closing her eyes for a few seconds, trying to calm her nerves.

Her phone beeped once again, and with a sigh she read his text, "No you don't. And that still doesn't answer the question."

"I was sleeping like a normal teenager," she replied, finally answering his stupid question. I mean, who asks a question like that at midnight?

"Normal teens don't sleep at midnight," Jack sent in response to Elsa's reply. This made Elsa want to facepalm. Like, really badly.

"Normal teens in their right mind do," she shot back at him, still infuriated at how she ruined her peaceful rest, the best one she's had in weeks.

"Jeez someone's pissed," the next text read. Elsa was pissed and she couldn't quite understand why Jack didn't even know why.

"Who wouldn't be if someone chooses to text them in the middle of their slumber over something really really stupid?" Elsa texted back, finally having enough of Jack's stupid little antics.

"Look, I'm sorry," Jack immediately typed, adding a little sad face emoticon before hitting send.

Elsa didn't reply. She just placed her phone on her bedside table, wishing that he wouldn't text her back and spam her with stupid little messages.

But Jack being Jack, he did spam her with stupid little messages.

"Els, talk to me."

"I said I'm sorry."

"Come on reply."

"What, you're giving me the silent treatment now?"

"Elsaaaaaa!"

"You're the loser here for ignoring me like a baby."

"Hey! Don't leave me hanging."

"Do you want me to call you?"

"Elsa, come on. Please."

After what seemed like the hundredth beep, Elsa knew she couldn't get out of this that easy. So giving up, she grabbed her phone, sat up from her bed, and read all the stupid messages the stupid boy sent.

"Now I know that you have nothing better to do," she simply typed, with a small smile on her face.

"Els did you do that to me on purpose?" Jack replied, happy Elsa came back from the dead, a little angered that she ignored him for a minute or three.

"I just wanted to sleep, Frost," the next text she sent read. With that, Jack smirked slightly, knowing well that he's won this one since Elsa was, in fact, replying.

"You can do that at school," Jack typed. Reading the text, Elsa can't help but sigh and shake her head a little.

"I'm not a slacker like you," she sent adding a little frowning purple devil emoji.

"Maybe you should work on it," was Jack's reply to her message, knowing full well that she could never ever let her good record go downhill.

Elsa couldn't help but laugh at that one, smiling as she replied, "Lol you wish."

"Since when did you start saying lol?" was what he texted back, which made Elsa actually facepalm this time. It may have hurt, but Jack's stupid antics forced her to.

She still replied to the boy, though, "What, so I can't say lol now?"

"You hate shortcuts," Jack sent, remembering the time he spammed her with internet lingo and she didn't seem to catch on.

"When you use them, I do, indeed," she teased, making Jack sigh while he lay underneath a soft wool blanket that protected him from the chilly weather.

"Thanks," was all Jack had managed to send before he heard his door creak. Out of curiosity, he got out from under the sheets, checking the time on his phone quickly.

It was fifteen minutes past twelve and yet someone seemed to be checking up on him. Weird, he thought.

The lights from the hallway shone into his bedroom, and a short figure slipped inside, closing the door as gently as possible. As soon as Jack recognized who it was, he relaxed.

"Emma, what are you doing up so late?" he asked in merely a whisper, somehow afraid that his mom and dad will hear.

"I couldn't sleep," she said with a cute little pout that made Jack chuckle to himself.

"Me too," he said to his sister, before opening one lazy arm as an invitation for her to join him in his bed.

Emma smiled at her older brother before jumping onto his bed, into his arms, resting her head on his chest. He pulled the covers over the two of them, staring at his little sister with a small smile on his face.

Suddenly his phone vibrated and beeped, echoing in the quiet room, and he suddenly remembered that he was talking to Elsa.

"Who is that?" Emma asked, turning her gaze towards her brother, sitting up and waiting for an answer.

"Elsa," he said in reply, before checking the text messages that she sent.

"You're welcome :)"

"Hey Frosty, are you still there?"

"Don't tell me you decide to sleep now."

"If you think it's funny to wake me up then suddenly go to sleep, leaving me hanging here, you're so wrong."

"I think I really do hate you."

He couldn't help but chuckle, before typing a reply as fast as he could, "Sorry. Emma came to my room."

As Elsa read the text she couldn't keep herself from smiling. Jack may be a bastard, but he was a sweet and caring brother, "Tell her I said hi."

"Hi Elsa!" Emma said to Jack's phone as soon as she read the text he received, which made him laugh.

"She just said 'hi Elsa' out loud," he texted back, before turning towards his sister, "She can't hear you. You have to type a message on my phone."

"Oh," Emma simply replied, taking Jack's phone from his grasp and staring at it intently, waiting for Elsa's next message.

"Aw how cute," the next message said. Emma read it aloud for her brother to know. This simply made him smile.

"Go reply," he told his sister, encouraging her to type.

But she was way ahead of him, replying to Elsa as soon as he told her to, "Thank u Elsa. This is Emma typing by the way."

When Elsa realized it wasn't Jack she was talking to anymore, but his adorable and sweet little sister, Emma, her whole demeanor changed. As if all her irritation from Jack waking her up in the middle of the night left her body.

"Why are you up at 12:23 in the morning? It's way past your bedtime," she sent to the little girl, lying back down, her whole body underneath the covers.

Emma scooched closer to her brother, before she typed in reply, "Well i couldnt sleep."

"Does it run in your family?" Elsa decided to joke, knowing Emma wouldn't understand and would ask her brother about it.

Emma did do exactly that, and Jack just laughed, shaking his head, "Tell her that it doesn't and that was a lame joke."

"Jack says it doesnt run in our family and that ur joke was lame," Emma typed in and hit send, not knowing what was going on.

Elsa giggled at this, before she finally decided to end her chit chat with Emma, "Well, you better go to bed. It's not healthy for a growing girl to sleep this late."

"Ok Elsa. Thanks for this talk," the little girl replied, adding a smiley, before she handed the phone back to Jack with a yawn.

Reading the last two messages, Jack understood what Emma was doing so he smiled and hugged her gently and a little bit more tightly. Emma relaxed in her brother's arms, before shutting her eyes in attempt to fall asleep.

"It's me this time," Jack texted, adjusting the brightness of his phone so it wouldn't be too blinding and disturbing for his sister.

"For a moment there I thought you'd go to sleep too," Elsa sent with a sigh. She can't understand why the idiot wouldn't leave her alone yet. There was thirty minutes left until 1 am for God's sake.

"Maybe I should," he sent while he silently admired his sister who seemed to be close to falling asleep altogether.

"Goodnight, Jack," she simply texted in reply, thinking that it's time for their midnight chit chat to come to an end. She definitely needed to rest if she was bothering to go to school.

"Goodnight Els," he typed back, before letting himself rest as well, next to his already sleeping sister.

With that, the two of them placed their phones on their nightstand, relaxing into the soft pillows on their bed, letting the calm night take them on a dreamless slumber filled with nothing but happiness.

A U T H O R ' S N O T E

I don't know what my aim was with this one shot. And I don't even know what type of one shot this was. It feels pretty meh to me. But I felt like this book needed a one shot that was filled with happiness and positivity. So here you go - a lighthearted one shot.

You can either think that Jack and Elsa are dating, or are simply just best friends. Your choice. I didn't really emphasize their relationship status in this one because it felt too sweet and I didn't really wanna dwell on the relationship when I wrote this one. I wanted it to stay sweet and innocent and light, something different from the ones I wrote previously.

Also I called Jack's sister Emma because that's what most of you call her anyway and I didn't really feel like becoming original lol.

Anyways, here you go. Another update. I'm not sure if this will be my last update before I go, but if it is then I'm sorry and I hope you liked it.

If I do choose to update more, expect them to be as lighthearted as this one because I feel like it's best if I dwelled on positivity for now. More fluff and sweetness for Jelsa.

Anyways, I'm gonna end this A/N now. Thanks so much for reading this one shot. Please comment and vote. I'd love to reply to all of you, really.

Sorry if you think that this was pretty lame. Lmao.
