**Shout out to @shawnsmuffins because she is sooooooo amazing at writing!! Love you! <3
"I would totally come!"
"Totally!"
"YAAASSSS!"
"I love you SOOOO much!"
"IM COMING!"
These types of comments filled Jess's phone screen. Shawn peered over her shoulder.
"Told ya people would come." he whispered into her ear, sending chills down her spine. Jess smiled. She couldn't believe people actually said they would come to a concert of her's! HER'S!!!!!
"Ok, maybe you were right. But where would I do one?"
"Isn't there like a Rec Center somewhere around here with a stage and bleachers?"
"Yeah...maybe I could rent it out. But first, I need to ask my mom." Jess dialed her mother's number.
Conversation:
J: Hey mom! I was wondering if I can maybe preform in front of people at like a concert or something. We can rent out the Rec Center or something."
M: You want to preform?!"
J: Yeah! It is actually kind of fun to sing and people love me on youtube. Shawn also thinks its a good idea.
M: What about you? Do you think it is a good idea?!"
J: Yeah. I mean yes, I do.
M: Ok. We can work things out then. Lets talk about it more when you get home.
J: Ok! Thanks, bye, love you!"
Jess hung up and squealed. "IM GONNA DO A CONCERT!!!!!!" She stood up and started bouncing as high as she could on the trampoline. Shawn stood up and held her hands, jumping with her. Somehow, they jumped at the same time, so no one person went flying. It was like they fit together, perfectly.
Sometime later, the couple got off the trampoline and Jess rode her bike back home. Home was no longer her sanctuary, the place where she could hide in her room, reading or writing a book and slip into an alternate reality. Now, life was like an alternate reality. The place where she felt the most safe, the most comfortable, the most relaxed, was in Shawn's arms. Or holding his hand. Or just being next to him. He was her ultimate safe haven.
The ride home was smooth, as not many cars were on the rode on a temperature-wise, cool Monday night during the summer in New York. All Jess could think about was that moment she had with Shawn. What is happening to me? It is like I am becoming addicted to...to Shawn. Not like I wasn't before we met but still. Now it is just, multiplying. My chills, their multiplying. And I'm loosing control. Jess laughed at herself while she thought. She couldn't say or think one sentence without saying a word or phrase that reminded her of song lyrics. Tonight, it happened to be some song from Grease. All the way home she sang the song, trying to distract herself from thinking too much about Shawn. They never actually talked about what happened. Or did anything even happen at all. To Jess, it felt like their relationship took a sharp turn towards serious town. But maybe to him, it was nothing. After all, Shawn was a famous pop star who had girlfriends before her. The feeling of his lips touching hers. Her hands brushing his bare chest. Their bodies compacted together, like they were one. But the layers of clothing that still separated them. That was the only thing that kept her from losing her freaking mind.
Pulling into her driveway, Jess got off her bike and walked inside. Her mom was on the couch watching TV and she sat next to her.
"Hey."
"Hi sweetie. How was your hangout?"
"It was nice. How was your night?"
"Great, actually! I got caught up on the latest Dancing with the Stars."
"Ok, good for you. So, about the concert?"
"If you want one, then I support you. Just known that it could only lead to one extreme or another. You become famous or you totally flunk it and become nothing."
"Thanks so much for the ENCOURAGEMENT!" Jess said sarcastically.
"Hey I am just stating the truth. You want to do it at the Rec Center?"
"Yeah, it seems like the best place."
"Let me call the owner, see what he will allow us to do."
"No, I got it. Its my concert anyway." Jess picked up the home phone and dialed the number of the owner, which she found on the internet.
Converstation:
O: Hello? Owen Sandys here, how can I help you?"
J: Hi! I was wondering if it is possible that I could rent out some time maybe in your Rec Center for a concert.
O: Well, sure you can. When would you like it?
J: Um, anytime from now until like next week sounds good.
O: How about Friday, August 3? Three days from now.
J: That works. So, I just get it?
O: If your doing a concert, I suggest you do it in the theater room at 4 pm and you can rent it from 2-7.
J: I will do that then, it sounds good. How much do I need to pay you.
O: Oh, wait up. Hold on. Let me know your name and info first, then we will talk money. What is your name? How old are you?
J: I am Jessica Messi, but I go by Jess. I am 15 years old.
O: FIFTEEN!?
J: Yeah...
O: Ok, whatever. You seem mature enough to handle making good decisions. I don't think I need more information about you, since I can just look you up in the high school student lists and stuff. Money, lets talk. I'm thinking $75 plus 15% of whatever you make.
J: What do you mean, whatever I make?
O: You have to charge people to come see you! And post stuff on whatever social media you have telling them to come. I am guessing the people who will see it will come. And that you post videos of you singing like other little social media stars.
J: Yeah, I do. Ok, but how much should I charge?
O: Maybe like 5-10 dollars. Seven would be the best because it is in between.
J: Ok. Should I pay you day of or now?
O: Day of works with me. Well, see you then.
J: See you! Thank you so much!"
O: Your welcome. Bye!
J: Bye.
She ended the call with a smile. Jess was really going to have a concert. When she walked back to her mom, she told her the date and stuff, kissed her good night and walked to her room. She closed the door behind her and was about to sit on her bed, when she jumped up, startled. Laying, in her bed with the covers over them, was the one and only Shawn Mendes.
"What are you doing here?! My mom will kill you, more like kill ME if she finds you here!" Jess whisper-yelled at him.
"I just wanted to know how things were going, if you scheduled a date for the concert and stuff." He put his hands behind his head to prop it up.
"Why didn't you just use the front door?!"
"I didn't want to disturb anyone. And your mom would have never let me in this late."
"Yeah, she wouldn't of. So if she finds out your here, we are in trouble! BIG TROUBLE!"
"Relax, she will never know I'm here. I am like a silent ninja." Shawn smiled like an idiot. Jess sat down on her bed like she planned to, except this time it was mostly occupied by her 6 foot 2 boyfriend.
"So why are you in my bed!" she asked him. He shrugged.
"No idea. I got cold and now I'm here." Jess shook her head.
"Well, I did rent out the Rec Center, August 3rd. Mt first ever concert. I can't believe it." Shawn reached out to Jess and held her waist, pulling her to him.
"You did it cupcake. I knew you would." They laughed softly.
"How long will you be staying?" Jess asked in a quiet, sweet voice.
"I don't know. How long do you want me to stay?" Shawn whispered in her ear, moving aside her hair. Jess rested her head on his chest, feeling the constant thump of his heart. The heart that beat for her and only her. She closed her eyes.
"All night." Jess mumbled. Shawn smiled, but she couldn't see it for her eyes were shut. He shut of the lamp that lit the room and darkness approached them. Then he kissed her forehead.
"Then I will. Goodnight baby." Shawn to closed his eyes and sleep swallowed the both of them.
