I hadn’t even remembered falling asleep.

All I knew was what I was sleeping on was the most comfortable mattress I had ever laid on. I felt aches all over my body and found myself rolling over a few times to get in a more comfortable position.

I tried to swallow.

It felt like swallowing sandpaper. As I stared off into the dark room with no memory of how I had gotten there, or most importantly, where I was.

The memories hit me like a head-on car crash.

The kidnap, the green and blue-eyed men, being sold off like a toy to another strange, being tortured, starved, exhausted…drugged. I images of being slapped and thrown against a wall by the man I was sold to and then being saved by the mysterious green-eyed man, who I originally thought was going to kill me.  I sat up and realized I was wrapped in about seven blankets—allowing my skin to burn even faster at my most recent memory.

Dimitri.

Dimitri had sold me off and allowed me to go through all of the hardships in that…monsters basement, and yet he saved me? Was he really a god guy? Could I trust him? Would he let me free? What did he want me for?  Where did the other man with the blue eyes go? Did he have Cassie?

Was she going through the worst?

I clutched my stomach as it suddenly growled like a Mother lion’s roar, as it defends its cubs from a territorial hyena. I fought back tears. I didn’t want to eat. I wanted to be home. I wanted to be safe.

Could you really call that house where you lived a home? My inner voice spoke to me. You know nothing, and nobody are there for you once you return. Nothing ever was.

I carefully swung my legs over the shadowed bed and took a shaky breath. I blindly began to stumble around the room, brushing against the walls of the room for some sort of door. My fingers hit a cold handle and my heart “Yippied!” with joy.

I turned the knob and slowly walked out into a dark hallway with only the moon lighting my way. My eyes grazed over the lurking shadows of the long, empty hallway. Yeah…nobody should pop out of nowhere here.

I fought against every instinct in my body as I did what I did next,

I stepped into the hallway.

The floors beneath my feet were wooden, matching the floors I had crossed once I was out of Dmitri’s basement.

I assumed I was in his house then.

I just didn’t know where he was.

My steps were careful as I crossed the floors and my fingers brushed against the walls as I neared the darkest end of the hallway, the part where the huge window at the front of the hallway could not reach. My toes grazed the edge of the shadowed hallway when I heard the sound of a light flickering on.

I whipped my head around to see a light had been turned on at the edge of the hallway.

I ran. I sprinted into the darkness with squinted eyes. When I felt a wall in front of me I turned to the left and continued down what seemed to be another hallway. This went on for what seemed like hours—searching for a way out of the hallways and long aisles of doors.

Then I spotted the railing.

It was a shiny gold and I instantly recognized it as the stairs I had been carried down the last time I was there. I knew where to go now. I knew the stairs would need to the front door. As I walked towards it I turned in the direction where the bathroom I had bathed in was.

The soft sound someone jogging made me turn around.

Nobody was coming.

Heart in my throat, I descended the stairs in leaps and bolted across the floor to the front door. I was only feet away when suddenly I stopped and stared at the door in front of me. Not only had I found my way to this very door, I had also escaped the person who had flickered the light on.

Not to mention…there was a light on outside the door, making the front door glow welcomingly.

This was too easy.

“Who are you calling easy, Blondie?” I voice purred from behind me.

I whipped around and once again. Nobody was there.

A wolf-whistle echoed the room. “Nice clothes,” the same musical voice from before spoke out.

I glanced down and immediately pulled down what I was wearing, a baggy t-shirt and a pair of underwear. “Coward,” I muttered, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks. “Show yourself!”

The pause after my words sent my heartbeat souring. A soft wind tickled up my legs and arms sending gooseflesh throughout my body.  “Just unhand that shirt, Miss, and I will consider your request…also if you could just cede all together, maybe vow you everlasting loyalty to me? It would be greatly appreciated…”

The blush on my cheeks radiated to a deep red. “You’re not funny... and I’m not pulling it up,” I growled, becoming annoyed that I was being observed like a toy.

“Hey now, Blondie, don’t get all gushy on me.”

I crept towards the staircase pulled my head up the stairs to see if he was standing there. He wasn’t.

“The tinier the better…er,” he continued, sounding further away.

This time I snuck a glance down both sides of the stair case on the floor I stood, peering into the dark hallways. As if he was watching my ever move he said, “Do you want me to do hot and cold or something, Short-stuff?”

I clenched my fists. Oh, he would get it now. I’d love punching this guy square in the face before leaving this house.“I’m not short! Stop calling me names and just…just leave me alone!”

Good one…

“Yeah, good one,” a deep voice agreed to my thoughts. I twirled around towards the front door where I heard the sound and turned my head to the side a little.

“Where are you?” I whispered and took a step towards the front door.

“Cold.”

I whirled back around and moved until I was closer to one of the dark hallways. “Warm-er,” a deep voice sang throatily in the direction I was looking.

I took another step forward then quickly took ten steps back when I heard a cynical laugh.

“You can do it,” a deep voice encouraged. “Here little Blondie, come into the darkness. We have cheese-sticks and toaster-waffles galore.”

I put a hand to my pounding heart but refused to step back any further. I wouldn’t let him intimidate me. “Please—just—j-just let me call my parents. I won’t tell them anything, I swear. Let me call my friend? Someone?”

“Come closer,” he clipped.

Well, that didn’t answer anything.

“No. I’m not going anywhere until I can see you.”

A solid clap echoed the room and on went the lights of the dark hallway I was staring down.

My jaw unhinged itself.

Before my very own eyes were the most Greek-godly, ridged, perfect, chiseled set of abs I had ever seen in my whole life. I fought a drool as I continued to gawk at the naked masculinity that was just thriving for--

“Ehem.”

I looked up at his face and made a noise in my throat. “Damnit, Dimitri...that's your name right? Or is it Dimotri?"

He narrowed his eyes.

" Listen abductor. If you’re going to kill me, let me gawk at your deliciously-sculpted chest a few more seconds,” I blurted. I quickly covered my mouth and let out an embarrassing scream into my hands.

Holy crap! I really just said that! Holy crap! I just said that.

He broke into a lazy grin. “You’re too kind.” Dimitri patted his abs before jabbing a thumb behind him. “There’s food in the kitchen.”

I managed a nod, still trying to cool down my cheeks. I couldn’t eat around him! He’s…he’s a kidnapper! He’s….

I snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed the pair of light green eyes watching me. “Let’s get a move on, Skinny. You’re eating thousands of calories then going back to sleep in a warm room.”

I puckered my lip and reluctantly followed him into the kitchen. So he wanted me to eat…and then he wants me to go back to sleep in a warm room? It did kind of sound like he was preparing me for a meal. “Are you going to bake me at 350 degrees?”

Dimitri handed me a glass of water on the counter and gave me a long, serious look before swinging his giant door to the fridge open and leaning inside. All of the food items looked brand-new and un-opened.

“What do you want to eat?” he wondered. His shaggy black head shot out of the fridge and he looked me up and down. “Let me guess. Cucumber sandwich with a diet iced tea? Or would you like a slice of cheese and a piece of lettuce?”

I made a mental note as I watched his back muscles move while he took out food items I made a mental note.

Cannibalistic jerk? Check!

Feeling a bit peeved over his skinny jokes, I shoved at his bicep to look into the fridge myself. He seemed to hover over me, as if he didn’t like that I shoved him. “I’ll have two grilled cheese sandwiches with tomatoes, a bowl of any soup you have, a regular Pepsi and when exactly am I going home?”

"Ooh, nice try. I'll give you the first four requests though, Blondie."

It was worth a shot.

I turned around and jumped back when I saw his face was centimeters away. I could see the muscles in his jaw flex as he allowed me to take in all of his perfectly sculpted features. I couldn’t help but flinch under his gaze and try and move around him. His wide chest stayed in front of me and his eyes stayed locked on mine.

I pushed against his chest. “Yeah, I don’t think so. Put a shirt on, Bud.”

He looked taken aback, only for a moment though. “I notice you’re very bold, yet self-conscious when around me. Is it because of my girlish figure?” Amusement flickered in his eyes as he reached around me into the fridge. “If you feel obligated to touch my abs feel free to do so, I willcompletely understand,” Dimitri added with a wicked smile.

I was so very tempted but the look in his eyes made me believe he was trying to trick me into doing something.

I frowned. Was this guy for real? “Who are you?”

“Blood and sugar,” he said simply and then broke into a laugh. “Oops sorry, I thought you asked what I liked in my coffee. I’m Dimitri even though you just said my name…”

“I meant who do you think you are.”

“I think I’m Dimitri.”

I shook my head. “No, that’s not what I—“

“—Fane?”

“Is that your last--?”

“Yes.”

I scowled at him. “Can you—“

"Yes. I'm telepathic."

"Stop--"

“No. I find myself very...happy interrupting you.”

“But—“

“Stop talking, it’s Dimitri time.” He made a show of stretching slightly as he retrieved the item, showing off his great pictorials.“Oh yes, and your little thoughts are right. I’m extremely arrogant and almost as bold as you, Shorty-shirt. So get use to it because if you don’t, sadly won’t survive two days in this household with a blood-thirsty creature like myself. Either that, or I'll tie you down in the basement and feed joyfully on you until you pass out and or have a heart attack.”

His cheerfulness at the end of that sentence sent chills down my back.

Dimitri poked my nose. “Now, how about that Grilled Cheese?”

********************************************************************************************************

Do you know what’s more awkward then walking next to some stranger that claims he is a vampire?

Walking next to some gorgeous stranger with absolutely no shirt, impressive abs, and claims that he is indeed a vampire.

As we climbed the staircase, I couldn’t help but turn around a few times to see if I could make a run for it. The front door sat all alone at the end of the house and Dimitri was too deep in thought to notice.

I quietly stopped and took a carefully step backwards.

He whipped his head around and slowly his eyes became a bright, inhuman green. “I suggest you don’t even try. I’ll have you over my shoulder in less than a second.”

I nodded.

He turned and began to climb the stairs again. “Good, because one thing I don’t tolerate is disobedience.”

I took another step back as he continued to climb. I felt an instant sense of relief when his gaze left mine and I put two and two together. He had some sort of hold over me when I made contact with them.

And I didn’t like it.

Before he could notice me not following I turned and made a run for it. I stumbled down the stairs and braced myself for the slippery wooden floors. I seemed to glide over the surface a smile on my face as I neared my freedom. I was so close, maybe eight feet away when---

He was right in front of me.

“Ohmygod!” I screamed as he gave me a light shove and slipped backwards onto my butt.My head hit the ground with a thump. I clutched it and muttered a curse.

“That was just pathetic, really.” Dimitri clucked his tongue and stood over me, his feet on either side of my waist. “I’m taking note that you do the complete opposite of what I say and I cannot trust you. Not a good start with me Blondie, not a good start at all.”

Both of our jaws were clenched as he obviously waited for me to get up. I sat up slightly, my eyes burning a hole in his forehead. I concluded as I was finishing off my sandwich that this man was being nice, too nice, and so I thought up a plan.

Provoke him and figure out what he wants.

“I’m not going anywhere with you, not doing anything with you, and I’m not your slave or captive or whatever the hell you think I am. So just kill me now.”

He reached down to grab my shirt in fists and hauled me up to my feet, our faces inches apart. “Do. Not. Tempt. Me,” he growled his features grim.

“You. Don’t. Scare. Me.”

“I don’t?” he questioned, a small smile creeping up the corners of his lips. “That’s only because you don’t know me,” he concluded.

I laughed. “I know you perfectly well. You’re all talk…” I smiled, “And absolutely no game. Pathetic really, I use to think you were hot and perfect a few minutes ago, but now I see who you really are.”

“And what is that?”

“A confused little baby. Not to mention I’m sure no woman enjoys your company. Your good to look at but are you really—“

“Shut your mouth,” he spat, a vein thumping on the side of his head. I could feel the anger boiling under his skin, the fire within igniting his eyes to an even brighter color. “Shut you mouth, before I shut it for you.”

A pause emptied out before us. Or eyes stayed locked as he fought against his strong emotions. His grip on me stayed tight and he had slightly lifted me off of the ground. Keep it up, Anna, he’s going to spill the beans some time.

“Do it.”

A slow, cynical smile spread over his lips. Suddenly he lifted me further off the ground until we were at eye level. “Keep feeding the fire, little one. Keep feeding it. You will just be engulfed in the flames and I—“ He moved his mouth to my ear, “I will stay burn-free.”

“All talk,” I whispered in his ear, a smile on my lips, “No game.”

It was an instant so fast I hadn’t seen it coming. I was thrown feet in the air and slammed against a far wall, before slowly, and painfully siding down. I cried out in pain when I hit the floor and braced myself on my hands, slowly getting up. My vision wavered slightly and a I blinked carefully, as if I was worried I would become blinded.

A black circle surrounded my vision and then it faded, replaced by a man’s black leather boot. “Get up.”

I realized my cheek was on the floor and listlessly forced myself to look up at his face. “Have you learned your lesson,” he told me, his voice soft. I felt his hands pick me up again and press me against the wall as he said, “Or do we have to do that again?”

I stayed silent.

“Answer—“

“I’m not obeying you!”

“FINE!” I roared, and began to haul  me towards the stairs. I tried to pull away and then he hoisted me onto his shoulder. He climbed the steps with my screaming and slapping as if I was an ant on his shoulder, trying to hit him and scream.

Wind tore at my skin, and the steps I had seen below me disinigrated into wooden floors.

We were walking down a hallway now. “You will obey. You will respect me, and you will not provoke me,” Dimitri demanded, before dropping me on the ground. “Now get in your damn room.”

No, my mind answered. Don’t go in any room with him. Don’t let him—“

I clashed into the wall with my back, breathing hard from all of my screaming. Dimitri cracked open a door to what I expected to be my bedroom and kicked it the rest open. “Get. In. The. Room, Anna,” he said, emphasizing each word. I was slightly stunned that he had said my name.

“No,” I managed, continuing to rebel. “I want to know why I’m—“

He let out a ferocious growl. “Anna! GET IN THE ROOM!”

“NO!”

I was against the wall again, his hand around my throat. Dimitri began to squeeze, his eyes dangerously narrowed as he repeated, “GET. IN. THE. ROOM!!”

The air became thick and I felt a pull towards the room. His eyes were practically volcanoes of heat as I continued to disobey. I locked my eyes on his chest, restraining myself from all of my different emotions.I was confused, I was still hungry, I was mad, I was helpless, I was…

Just tired. Tired of dealing with myself when I knew deep, deep inside there was something wrong with me. Something was seriously wrong with me. Something was wrong with me and that’s how I had ended up here. Something…something…

I frantically looked around the hallway, feeling as if they were closing in, the air felt thick, my throat closed up.

Was I dying?

I realized Dimitri was talking and focused in on his face, my head slightly lolling on my neck. “You’re having a panic attack.”

“I can’t do this,” I blurted out between quick breaths. “Please…just…”

His voice was surprisingly calm as he spoke. “Listen to me, ok? Everything’s alright. You’re alright.” Dimitri brushed a strand of hair out of my face and then cradled my head in his hands. “Look at me.”

I managed to meet his eyes.

“You’re ok,” he soothed, stroking my cheek with the pad of his thumb. He put a hand on the small of my back and helped me into the bedroom, closed the door, and walked me to the large bed. My legs shook slightly so my grip on his arm was tight. He sat on the bed and pulled me down next to him and reached over to turn on another lamp.

The room was still uncomfortably dark.

“You’ve been through a lot, you’re tired, I should have realized that.“

I kept my hand on his arm and turned my head to him. “Just kill me,” I blurted, feeling tears form in my eyes. “Please, just kill me. I’m not…I’m not normal…I--” I stopped. What was going on with me? Why was I becoming so emotional in front of him? I was pleading so easily for my life? Was this normal?

“Yes, this is all normal,” he said. “You’re normal.”

“No I’m not. I’m a monster. There’s something—“

He barked out a laugh, and pulled my hand into his. “Anna look at me, really look in me. Do I look normal to you?”

My eyes roamed over his strong features, his perfect jaw covered in dark stubble, his prominent and, variegated green eyes—not to mention his outwardly soft curly hair which was one of his best features.

I shook my head. “No. But you’re…you’re different.”

“How?” he said quietly.

My answer was almost childish, but it came out so quickly I couldn’t stop myself. “You’re beautiful. You’re accepted.”

At my response, his forthwith reaction was to grab my head in his hands once again and say, “How many lies can cross such precious, innocent lips? You clearly blinded by some sort of barrier, if you believe in any of those two conclusions. My family hasn’t accepted me ever since I turned hundreds of years ago. I’m a disgrace to my family except for my Father and my guards. I’m not beautiful, I’m captivating. My features are purposely spread across my face to allure my victim because I need to survive, like a monster needs to survive. I am the monster, Anna.”

In my whole life I had never been so stunned. I didn’t think at all that he was a monster. Sure he had a few anger issues that involved throwing woman against walls, but I could see a kinder heart underneath his exterior.

I could see hope.

“So…you’re definitely a Vampire.”

He nodded. Dimitri’s stone-like features melted into something softer and he smiled. “You…you are very gifted,” he finished. “Very powerful.”

My eyebrows knit into a frown. “What do you mean?”

He stood up and scrubbed his jaw. “I can’t tell you that right now. I will however definitely you tell soon.” His emerald grazed over mine as if he wanted to add more.

Right when I was about to respond, I found my eyes drooping, and so I picked up my seemingly heavy legs and plopped them down on the bed. A deep snicker echoed the room when I rolled over and tried to pull the comforter out from under me. I ended up squirming like a fish and grunting ever time the comforter wouldn’t come up from under me.

At the continuously loud laughter, I lifted up my head to scowl at him over my shoulder.

“Can you…?”

“Damn. I was enjoying your little fish act.” He tugged the comforter from under me and draped it over my shivering body. The blanket was heavy, yet extremely comfortable and warm. “You need rest and a good breakfast. In the morning I’ll tell you everything you need to know.”

We stared at each other for a while. Had we come to a truce so easily? He was being so…nice.

“Fine,” I whispered, feeling as if he was planning on bashing my head in with a hammer when I rolled over to fall asleep. But no, Dimitri turned and glided over to the door with long strides. His hand had brushed the wooden door of the room when I stirred and sat up.

“You’re not a monster. I didn’t believe it in the car, and I don’t believe it now.”

Dimitri glanced over his shoulder with a look that was so chilling and so frightening that I felt as if the room had dropped twenty degrees.  His eyes had been narrowed like a cat’s, a look that struck me as veracious. What bothered me was I was almost the look was intentional, I was the only one meant to see the amount of hungry that flashed over his eyes. “Let’s see how long that presumption lasts, Ah-nah,” he whispered.

And with that, he shut the door.

 *****************************************************************************************************************

 *****************************************************************************************************************

“Yoo hoo,” an elderly female voice whispered at the edge of my bed. I twitched slightly in my sleep and rolled over, huddling the warm blankets to my chest. I felt a slight pull on the blankets and tugged them back. “Up Darling! You don’t want to keep Master Dimitri waiting!”

I groaned into my pillow and dug my face into it. I froze. It didn’t smell like my pillow.

And I didn’t have an elderly lady in my house…

Or a Master Dimitri….

I jerked up in the bed with a squeal, making the elderly lady throw the blankets up into the air and scream too. We screamed for about ten seconds, fighting to have the higher pitched scream until finally I stopped.

“Where am I? Who are you?” I asked breathily.

The elderly lady still seemed in shock from my outburst. She picked up the sheet she had dropped on the floor and began folding as if nothing happened. “I’m Rose. And you’re Ah-nah, yes? You are at Dimitri Fane's mansion.”

I looked around, remembering I was brought to this massive house with a green-eyed man who said he was a vampire. A far-fetched idea sent by one of the hottest men I had ever met.

"Ah-nah?" the elderly lady asked.

My expression dropped. It was obvious who had given her that pronunciation. “Yup, that’s me,” I said, not wanting any confusion over my name. “Ah-nah” would be a fine name for myself....well it was, until more than zero people started to call me it. Then we started to have a problem.

“Would you like some lunch, dear?” Rose asked gently. “Homemade clam chowder is on the menu. Master’s favorite.”

She reminded me of my grandmother, with her short, cropped grey hair and bright blue eyes. She was probably around five-six and sadly, wasn’t much shorter than myself at five-six. Rose continued to fold as I sat there on the bed, becoming transfixed with the beautiful room. There was a mahogany desk in the corner which held a few slices of thick paper, a ink blotter, a feathered pen, and a bunch of envelopes. To the right of the room sat a large dresser, which Rose was filling up with what seemed like sweatpants and jeans.

“whose clothes are those?” I wondered as I watched her haul a stunning blue sequent shirt. The piece of clothing looked vaguely familiar….

“They’re yours of course.”

I clenched my jaw slightly. “He stole my clothes?”

“Well yes, dear, what are you suppose to wear while you take your stay here?”

I thought about this for a moment. He had stolen my clothes from my closet in my room. Had he broken into my house? How? Had my parent’s seen him? Did he pick out my favorite polka dot bra with the puppy in the corner?

I brushed off the new thought of him panty raiding my drawer and shivered.

Dimitri was in my room. The enticing hot-mess of a man I had spoken to just yesterday was in my very room. Was he shirtless? Did he lie down on my bed?

I shivered.

I realized Rose was trying to get my attention and so I blinked out of my day-dream of Dimitri’s abs.

“Ah-nah, are you ok? You look a bit pale.”

I instinctively touched my face. The skin felt cooler than usual, and the more I thought about it, I was a bit queasy. “Strange, I’m not feeling too good all of the sudden.”

“I know just the cure,” she said and played the last garment in her pile into the drawer. “A nice bowl of my clam chowder soup and a heaping pile of potato chips.”

My stomach gurgled.

I urged it to calm down. “That’s alright. I’m not too—“

“I can hear your stomach growling, dear! Heck, I’m sure Master Dimitri heard that monstrous roar that left your little tummy!”

“I’m sure he did,” I said dryly. The last thing I wanted was Dimitri coming up here and hand feeding me.

Or was that the first thing I wanted…

“Wait,” I started, playing with the hem of the fluffy comforter that was wrapped snug across my body. “Why do you call Dimitri “Master”?”

Rose smiled and sat down on the far edge of the bed. “Because I not only work for him, but he is royalty to the Vampires. It’s only traditional to call them something as formal as “Master” or “My Liege”.”

I let that linger in my head for a moment before I threw my hands up. “Whoa, wait a minute. He’s royalty? I’ve just let it pass that he’s a Vampire, and now you’re saying he’s what, a Vampire King or something?”

She looked thoughtfully at the headboard behind me. “Not exactly. He’s a prince.”

A Prince.

I suddenly felt a wave of nausea pass through me. He was a Prince? Royalty? Did he have a crown and the banquets and the really tight pants and all that jazz? I was just handling the bizarre idea that Vampires existed and now this was thrown apon me?

What next, I was part of a secret undercover plan to assassinate someone?

“Oh my God,” I said out loud and put two hands over my mouth. Was Rose a Vampire too? Was I a Vampire? Were we ALL vampires?

“You people are crazy!” I burst out and jumped off of the bed like a cat. “I need to get the hell out of here!”

“Ah-nah…”

I turned around from the exit of the bedroom and stopped her. “No. It’s Anna actually. “Master” Dimitri pronounces it like that because he’s dumb as hell and a completely psychotic freak who—“

Rose widened her eyes a bit and put her finger tips across her neck, as if to silence me.

“No! I’m not stopping there! Who does he think he is? Kidnapping me from my own family? I mean Hello, can someone scream ‘Lonely Pedophile who thinks he’s a Vampire and want’s girls in his bed for free,’ for me? And you.” I motioned to Rose, “I doubt you’re even a maid! He probably hired you just to get his victims more calm…”

I froze which a warm breath hit the back of my neck and the heat from a close body. When I felt the brush of someone’s hand gently run a finger up my back I dropped my own hand which was in mid air as I was talking.

“He’s right behind me,” I concluded, with a crackling voice.

“No. Just a lonely pedophile who wants you in my bed,” a deep, smooth voice said, concluding my assumptions.

Dimitri.

“Rose. Leave the room,” he commanded as if razors had taken over his vocal cords. I fought a shiver at the harshness of his voice and internally begged Rose to stay.

“Yeaahhh, I’m just going to go,” I said casually, and went to dash out of the room after Rose.

I felt a pull backwards from the back of my sweatpants. I latched onto the archway of the door and resisted the solid pull I was getting from behind.

“Let go of the door,” Dimitri hissed. His voice now reminded me of a snake and made my heart beat even faster. “I’ll tear you in half if I have to.”

I screamed for help and kicked at his body from behind. He grabbed onto my legs and held them together as he waited patiently for me to let go. “LET…GO….OF…ME!” I screamed. My fingers were slowly losing their grip on the arch of the door and my heart was in my ears, screaming for me to get away from him.

“No more games. You’re letting go of the door.” Dimitri grabbed hold of my hips and with one massive tug hauled me against his chest, kicked the door closed, locked it, and held me against the wall with both hands on my shoulders.

I kept my head down, staring at his chest which was going up and down at an unnatural pace, a furious pace. “Look at me, Anna,” he said. When he said my name it sounded as if he was spitting out a dirty word. “Look at me, Anna,” he repeated, his voice laced with a thick velvety texture.

I thenfelt a tenacious pull to meet Dimitri’s eyes but fought it with all my might. My head shook as it slowly lifted to meet his bright green eyes and my heart pounded to a new faster beat. His eyes looked as if they were on fire they were so bright.

A shiver shot down my back as he said, “Good girl. See, that wasn’t too hard, right?” and gave me a devious smile as he raked his eyes over my body. I stilled against the wall now that I had seen the dangerous look in his eyes that was ignited by anger.

"Stop staring at--"

He made a noise in his throat that could only be described as a warning growl. I ended my sentence and stared at the dark subble that lined the tanned skin of his chin.

“I like it when you don’t talk,” he said gently and let go of my one shoulder so he could caress my cheek with the pad of his thumb. “You should do it more often. I might like you more and maybe you won’t be in these…embarrassing situations.” He motioned to my wedged body against the wall.

I snapped out of my longing gaze towards his beautiful facial hair and pushed at his chest. “Go to hell you dumb leach,” I bit out between clenched teeth.

His face softened for a only a moment before his features hardened and distorted into a scarier, even more beautiful version of himself. In an instant, his hand was around my throat and his face was inches away. “What did you say to me?” he asked slowly, his eyes dancing with swirls of fire.

“Nothing—“

“I will wipe that smirk right of your damn mouth,” he interrupted, his eyes on my lips. “One thing I don’t tolerate is disobedience, especially from someone as—“He looked me up and down with an evils smirk, “Puny to society as you.”

“Puny to society?” I repeated. Nobody called me puny. I'd heard it all from Shorty to Midget Muffin. But Puny? I wasn't going to stand there and get called that. “If I’m so puny to society then why do you size me up whenever you see me and stare at me like I'm a piece ofmeat?See something you like, Dimmy?”

His jaw clenched. “Don’t call me that.”

Dimmy.”

He made a strange noise in his throat, to ferocious to be a growl. His head shook as he tried to hold in his emotions. “Say it again. I dare you.”

I held his gaze as the name slowly formed over my lips, “Dim—“

He tore my neck to the side and lifted me up to his level. His knee nudged my legs to the side and he held me up like that, his eyes directly in front of mine. “The reason I look at you like a piece of meet, Blondie, is because you are a piece of meat to me."

I let out a shaky breath and brought my lips to his ear. "Oh right, I almost forgot. You're a Vampire Prince and I'm a Unicorn."

"You still needpoof that I'm a Vampire?" he laughed out. "Then I'll give you proof." With a growl, he pressed my harderagainst the wall andsnarled into my face, "Itseems you are in need of a punishment, yes? That’s what you've to been wanting?”

I let out a snort. You have to be kidding me. What’s he going to do? Spank me and make me eat soap?

With a low laguh he leaned back so I could see his face andslowly opened his mouth, revealing two long K9’s that seemed to grow as I stared at them with wide eyes. A clear liquid began toseep from the ends of them sending chills down my arms.

Venom.

He closed his mouth and tilted his head down, looking at me from under his lashes. “They’re sharper than they look,” he purred. “Much, much sharper.”

When his face started to narrow in I pushed against his neck. “Stop, stop!” He neared closer as if my hands weren’t restraining him in the slightest and started to laugh. “Dimitri,” I breathed out, as his warm breath caressed my cheek.

I blushed scarlet when his stumble scratched along my jaw.

“Say you’re sorry and maybe I’ll stop,” he said, and nuzzled the side of my neck with his nose.

"No," I said in a hoarse voice.

"No?" I began to cringe from his tongue, which began to brush against the side of my neck.

“Mmmm, you still smell mouthwatering.” he added and kissed my throbbing pulse a few times. “Likevanilla?Tasty.”

I was wearing vanilla body mist.

"Don't do this," I tried, gripping the back of his neck with some sort of need. I wasn't resisting him anymore but quite the opposite. My body was glued to his, my neck was angled perfect for his mouth, his fangs.

"Give me one reason not to."

“Dimitri,” I whimpered, trying to fight the urge to just let him feed from me. I grabbed onto the back of his head and dug my fingers into his soft hair. When he let out a noise of approval I tugged it backwards to bring his head back as far as I could.

His chest rattled with a soft pur and his back arched as I tried to pull it further back. He jerked his head foward with alaugh, sling shoting his own head to mine. He hoisted me upuntilour noses were almost touching. Dimitri looked at me from under his long lashes, ruining me slowly. “Is that suppose to stop me? Pulling my hair like I’m a Pup?”

“Looks like it already did,” I pointed out and brought my knee up to his crotch with a roar. He grabbed my knee with his hand at the last minute and moved it to his waist. It now looked like we were doing the Tango.

“Can I have this dance?” the bastard said formally, with a wink.

“No you can’t,” I said in a mocking tone and brought my hand hard across his cheek.

He looked unfazed from the slap and burst into a wolfish again. “You hit like a girl.”

I snorted. “You look like a girl. You’re hairs a bit long and is that eyeliner?”

"What is eyeliner?" Dimitri brought his finger up for a moment to touch his eye and then quickly brought it down. “You look like a man,” he countered and pulled at my pajama top by the chest. “You’re flat as piece of paper.”

I looked down and blushed furiously. I motioned to his pectorials. “I’ll just take yours then so that’s not a problem!”

“Your nose is big.”

“Yourbrain is small.”

He thought for a moment and replied with, “You’re short.”

“Yeah? Well you’re a steroid maniac on crack who does infomercials about himself!”

“That's some real talent there…”

He got me there. I jabbed at his t-shirt covered chest right as he hauled up my other leg and held me up. I wiggled, trying to be freed. “Let go of me, Big Foot!”

Dimitri racked my face with his beautiful eyes. “You’re a dumb little blonde,” he whisperedwith a smile.

I snorted. “At least my hair is pretty!”

There was a pause between us.

“My hairs not pretty?” he asked, amusement in his eyes. Dimitri leaned forward and added in a soft tone, “Then why are your hands still in it?”

“I don’t know,” I replied in the same quiet tone. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach as I realized just how close we were, and how intensely his eyes were on me. His eyes drifted to my lips again and his eyes glowed brighter, he gripped my lower back harder and pulled me closer to him. I could feel the heat between us, the electricity.

Maybe if he liked me, he would let me go? Is it possible?

We were so close, I readied my lips for one hell of a kiss and then—

He dodged right.

“You almost got me there, Blondie, you sly little human. But I don’t have the time for intimate feeding sessions.” He then nipped at my ear again, making me jump at the suddenness. “But I will take a raincheck,” he whispered in my ear, and kissed my cheek with his soft, warm lips.

Intimate feedings? I thought to myself. Does he do this often with other lady-friends? Was I part of this little 'lady-friend' group?

A pause passed between us. "No, most of my feeders are trained," Dimitri said with a devious smile. "But I'll make an exception if you happen to this 'lady-friend' concept, if you happen to volenteer that is."

I held in a massive shiver when the spot he kissed heated quickly and stayed at that temperature all the way until he settled me onto the ground, gave me one last dangerous look and sauntered out of the room in long, delicate strides; like a predator.

“Be downstairs in five, Ah-nah,” he called out over his shoulder.

I took a hesitant step towards the hallway, feeling a sense of foreboding that I was about to change my life for ever.
