You're the only one I wish I could forget
The only one I love to not forgive
And though you break my heart,
You're the only one

Ignoring Jericho completely, Daisy glanced at the nurse that had been in charge of her care. "Can you bring me to my room, please?"

The older woman raised her eyebrows, glancing between the two. "Is your boyfriend staying the night, because I'll have to set up a visitor bed?"

Daisy was quick to shake her head. Wringing her fingers she made direct eye contact with Jericho. Her blue eyes blazing with emotion, pink lips pulled into a straight line. "We're done here."

"Daisy, did I say something wrong?" Jericho's voice cracked, his silver eyes trained on Daisy's angered face. "Please, talk to me."

"Sir, I think she needs to get some sleep. You are welcome to come back tomorrow." The nurse behind Daisy said, her expression sympathetic as she gazed at Jericho.

"Uh, y-yeah ... I'll come back tomorrow." Jericho trailed off, looking away as he dragged a hand through his hair. "Get some rest and feel better Daisy."

Daisy watched Jericho leave for the elevator, his steps slow as if he were waiting for her to call him back. She let out a small sigh of relief after the elevator doors closed and Jericho was no longer visible, the tears finally rolling down her flushed cheeks.

"You having relationship troubles?" The nurse questioned, while pushing Daisy into her hospital room.

Daisy watched the nurse, wiping her tears as she lowered her head in shame. "W-we're not in a relationship anymore ..."

"Bad breakup? Don't tell me he cheated .... What a bastard!" The nurse began to ramble, as she helped Daisy into the bed, before attaching the necessary equipment for Daisy's health. "He looks like the type with his chiseled face and the expensive tailored suit he was wearing. In fact he looks really familiar ..."

"There's a lot of h-handsome men in California, t-the odds that you ... uh,  actually know h-him are probably slim." Daisy said softly, sinking into the uncomfortable mattress. The last thing she needed was the press on her case.

"You are probably right." The nurse said, her red hair swinging in her loose ponytail. "If you need anything, just push the red button for a nurse and the yellow button is for the lights."

Daisy nodded her head, sighing softly, before she jumped up in the bed, a worrisome look on her bruised face. "My sister Lillian, is she okay? W-where is she?"

"She was getting a x-ray done, but she should be in her own room now. I'll see if we can move the both of you into the same room tomorrow. Dr. Bernard wants to keep the both of you for at least 24 hours."

"Could you go check on her a-and let her know that I love her and we'll talk tomorrow?" Daisy asked, noticing the nurse's name tag for the first time. "Please, Nurse Bianca."

"Sure sweetie, I'll see you in the morning." The red head left, turning off the lights on her way out.

Daisy was left in the dark, the beeping of the heart monitor the only thing that could be heard. Daisy was tired, exhausted even but she couldn't sleep. Jericho's saddened face kept on replaying in her head.

I was so worried...

I want to be here for you...

Daisy, did I say something wrong...

Please, talk to me ... I can't because I love you and I know you don't feel the same way.

A sob shook Daisy's body, her fingers gripping the cotton gown above her heart, her chest aching with the realization. Jericho was everything she could want in a man and more, but he wasn't her man and he never would be. That made it hard for Daisy to talk to him, to pretend that everything was okay.

He gave her those type of feelings, the ones they described in romance novels, the feeling of being on top of the world just by looking at the person you love. When Daisy seen Jericho in the hospital hallway, she nearly forgot about her surroundings. The only thing that registered in her head was that she loved Jericho and he was there. But minutes later reality kicked in, and Daisy had to remove herself from the situation.

Besides the heartache that came with loving Jericho, Daisy had more pressing things on her plate. Jeffrey, he had actually tried killing her over the restaurant, that got burned down to ashes in the process. God knows where he ran off to. Then there was Lillian, her usual bitchy sister who saved her when she most needed it. How was Daisy supposed to provide for her and Lillian with no source of income whatsoever? Mind the fact that they had no money, they also had no place to live. Daisy normally could have stayed with Victoria, Lillian as well, but ever since thanksgiving Victoria had been kind of evasive towards Daisy. And a big 'I told you so' was not what Daisy wanted to hear. And above all that she needed to organize her mothers' funeral.

"Everything will work itself out."

Daisy looked up from her hospital bracelet, blue eyes landing on the nurse from a few hours ago, Bianca was her name. "Huh?"

"You look like you haven't slept all night. Everything will be fine, try to relax." Bianca smiled, as she walked over to Daisy, a cup with two painkillers in her hand. "Here take these, they are for the pain."

I feel numb. "Thank you. C-could I see my sister now?"

Bianca checked the stitches on the side of Daisy's scalp, nodding her head. "Normally I would say yes, but Dr. Bernard ordered me to get a x-ray done on your ankle. We did one yesterday upon your arrival, but the images weren't clear. We want to be sure we didn't over see anything."

Daisy nodded, dark bags under her eyes. "After that I'll be able to see my sister right?"

Bianca was jotting things down in Daisy's medical file, shaking her head as she listened to Daisy's request. "After the x-ray, we'll come back here and then you'll be questioned by the police."

Daisy could feel her heart jump in her chest. "I-is there something you're not t-telling me about Lillian's condition? She's m-my sister. I have the right to know..."

"Lillian is okay. She broke her left hand, but other than that she is healthy. I"ll make sure you see her before lunch." The nurse said, a shaky smile on her face.

"Thank you." Daisy whispered.

Just then, someone knocked on the door. After a few seconds Jericho walked in. Dressed in dark cargo shorts, a polo shirt, loafers and his hair gelled back, a soft smile on his face and pink daises in his hand. "I bought these for you."

Daisy closed her eyes, a lump forming in her throat. "Jericho, please ..."

Jericho looked more confident than he did just a few hours ago, and the way he spoke -it reminded Daisy of when they first started dating. "Could you give us a few minutes?"

Jericho had directed his question to Bianca, who gladly stepped out of the room. "I'll go check on you're sister ..."

Jericho took control of the situation, sitting in the chair next to Daisy's bed, silver eyes focused on the young woman. "How are you feeling today?"

Daisy didn't understand what he was doing, what he was trying to prove. "W-why are you here, Jericho?"

"Because I care about you and yesterday the way you kicked me out of here, it hurt." Jericho began to explain, his voice held no once of anger or even frustration. "I know we weren't on the best terms when I left for Switzerland, but I'm back and I want to mend our relationship."

Daisy bit the inside of her cheek, eyes flying over Jericho's appearance. He was the definition of tall, dark and sexy. He made her heart race, everything about him made Daisy crave him in a way she had never felt. But life wasn't a fairytale and Jericho wasn't her knight in shining armor. "I can't ..."

Jericho took hold of Daisy's hand, intertwining their fingers, his eyes now begging Daisy. "Please Daisy, don't say you can't ... at least not without explaining. I seen it in your eyes, yesterday, when you looked at me, I know you still want this to work between us."

Daisy squeezed Jericho's hand, her lips trembling as she met Jericho's stormy eyes. "It doesn't matter what I want ... It doesn't matter that I want you so bad ... even after everything you put me through, because y-you'll never be able to reassure me of you're true feelings and I ... I won't be in that type of relationship."

"Daisy, please give us another try. I like you, I really like you." Jericho pleaded, afterwards kissing the top of Daisy's hand.

Daisy let the tears fall, her heart aching as it raced within her chest. "You couldn't let me in. You wouldn't let me in ... You never even mentioned her!"

Jericho cupped her cheek, slim fingers touching the nape of her neck as he pressed their foreheads together. Keeping eye contact, Jericho whispered the one thing he never thought he'd ever say. "I'll tell you anything about Tori, if you give us another try."

.....

Two very emotional characters. I actually think Jericho is more emotional than Gen.

Is there something wrong with Lillian's health?

Daisy loves Jericho ...

Daisy has so much on her plate? What's you're advice for her?

In the next chapter we will finally meet Cooper!
