Willow's P.O.V:
It had been a week since the bonfire and a week since something strange happened between me and Sam.
During that week a few things had happened. Leah had began to cut herself off from all of us and decided to take a three week trip up to the Makah reservation to visit her cousin Emily and i knew she was bad if she was going to visit Emily. She was the only person that was closer to Leah than i was and i knew that Emily would probably be able to help Leah better than i would since i was now confused about my own feelings towards Sam because of whatever happened after our walk.
And i had also had this strange feeling that i wanted to see Sam all week, for no reason other than to just see him. But i quickly ignored that and made sure to distract myself whenever the feeling would come up. My best method of distraction was normal to call Emily and chat with her and check on Leah who seemed to be doing better now that she was nowhere near Sam. And it was those calls that helped remind me of why i couldn't even be friends with Sam until Leah had moved on. I mean nobody would ever betray their best friend like that and like i've pointed out before, i couldn't live with myself if i ended up hurting her in such a way.
So i was walking down to the mailbox to get the mail one morning when i nearly fell through the wood that was the ramp that lead up to our front door. I growled when i saw it and knew that it was time we had somebody replace the ramp, it had been up for years and with the constant rain in La Push i was surprised that it had taken so long to finally fail. Once i had grabbed the mail, and sighed that there was nothing for me, i walked back inside, careful to avoid the hole.
I went into the kitchen, placed the letters on the table before i started breakfast. I decided on pancakes and i quickly set to work whilst also making sure the table was set for the three of us and making sure there was coffee for dad and apple juice for Jake. (He insisted that he had to have it with his breakfast for some reason but if it kept him from moaning then i'd give it to him.) Just as i was finished putting everything, including a plate stacked with pancakes, onto the table i heard familiar footsteps and the rolling of wheels.
"Morning Will, ohh pancakes!" I heard from my brother who smiled and quickly dug in. Pig.
Dad smiled as he went to his seat and began sorting through the letters. "Morning Will, nice coffee." He told me with a wink and i smiled back as i gave him a kiss on the cheek as i sat next to Jake and opposite him.
I grabbed a pancake and began eating. "Always is." I replied to him.
Jake then looked at me and smiled. "I'm gonna walk over to Embry's later, don't forget to grab some more burgers whilst your shopping. Thanks sis."
I rolled my eyes and nodded my head. "Sure, i shouldn't be gone long, only about thirty minutes but i do expect you to have finished the dishes before i get back and i want them dried too. And dad i want you to call somebody to fix the ramp out front, i think it all needs replacing. There's a hole so please have called somebody by the time i get back." I told them both in a motherly tone as i finished up my fourth pancake and i decided that was enough. I then gave them both a kiss on the cheek before grabbing my coat, bag and the truck keys and leaving the house.
Billy's P.O.V:
Once i was sure that Will was out of the house and Jake occupied by his large stack of pancakes i put the mail down and sighed. I then let my thoughts wander to the council meeting that Sam had called four days ago.
Flashback:
I had had a call from Sam saying that he was in desperate need of advice from the council about something he didn't understand and i had decided it was better to help him as soon as we could. So i had called Harry and Old Quil over just after sending Jake and Will out to go food shopping which would taken them a while since they had no problem arguing about food. So i was sure we would have plenty of time to help Sam with his problem.
When he arrived i was in the living room next to the sofa and Old Quil and Harry were sharing my sofa with a cup of coffee each. Sam gave us each a tired and strained smile before sitting in the chair opposite us.
Harry was the first to speak. "So what's wrong Sam? You seem like you've gone down hill since the bonfire, has something happened?" My friend inquired obviously worried about a vampire or something coming across our lands. I glanced at Quil but he seemed to just be watching Sam and i could see him almost smiling as he looked at the young man.
"Something has happened but it's not a vampire or anything like that. Something has happened to me." He told us in a quiet voice obviously unsure of what he was about to tell us and it was when he turned to me that i began to have an idea as to what it was about and why Quil was smiling about. "The other night when i walked Willow home something happened." He told me carefully and i sat up straighter now because i was fearing what he was going to say but also in a sense hoping he was going to say what i hoped he would. "When i looked into her eyes everything changed between us, i don't know if she felt it but i know i did. Suddenly she became the centre of my world and i didn't want her to leave or be stressed and i wanted to help her do anything she asked me. And it's been three days since i've seen her and i feel like it's been a lifetime since i've seen her and i just want to see her again. But i don't know why i feel this way about her, i've never thought of her as more than a friend the whole time i've known her," He said glancing at Harry as a way to obviously say he'd never cheated on Leah and Harry just nodded in understanding. "And now it's like i can see myself spending the rest of my life with her and i don't know why." He finished before resting his head in his hands and i sighed before looking at my two friends who both nodded at me.
It was clear to us what had happened to him and i was glad in a way but also a bit worried that it had happened between him and my Will. But i knew i should tell him and i hoped he would take it well.
I then wheeled over to him and gave his shoulder a squeeze and he looked up at me with eyes that begged me to tell him what was happening to him. "Sam, do you remember why the third wife was so special?" I asked and he nodded. "It's because she was an imprint, which means she was the soul mate of the chief. And imprinting happens when a wolf looks into the eyes of his soulmate for the first time and it is written that it's when everything in his life changes. One wolf wrote that it was like she became his gravity and he would be anything for her." I said and he gave a nod of gratitude. "Similar to what you felt with Will?" I asked and he gave a shy nod.
I looked to Harry who nodded back and then looked at Sam with a stern look on his face. "Sam, i know you're still guilty about Leah and i don't doubt that Will gave you an earful to make you feel a little worse too." He began with a knowing look to Sam who gave a small grin and nod at the mention of his imprint. "But a wolf must follow his imprint, and i don't want you to feel guilty because you're now in love with Willow and if you want to pursue her then i think you should do so." Harry told him in a calm voice.
At this Sam nodded his head and finally relaxed and it seemed obvious that he felt better now he knew what had happened to him and that he wouldn't be looked down upon for following his feelings. We talked for a little while longer before Sam seemed satisfied and he went off to get some rest and my friends went back home.
End Of Flashback.
I then asked Jake to bring me the phone when he stood up. Sam had told us that he had wanted to try and get close to Willow but that she refused to do so because of Leah and i decided that i would take matters into my own hands. I had also seen how sometimes Will would be thinking before suddenly deciding to call Emily or Leah and i guessed it was the imprint making her miss Sam and she didn't want to miss him.
I smiled up at Jake when he placed the phone down by me and began to clear the dishes and wash them which made me smile. Always did do what Will asked, ever since she had once grounded him for not being helpful and she had been really strict about it too.
I dialled a number and waited a few moments before hearing a gruff 'hello'. "Sam, Billy here. I need you to help me out with some repairs since Jake's busy." I waited for a moment whilst he told me he'd be here in a few minutes before he hesitantly asked about Will and i couldn't help but smile. "Oh don't worry, she'll be here for sure." I told him with a grin before hanging up the phone and chuckling.
Willow's P.O.V:
I grabbed the bag of food from inside the truck before turning around and heading in the back door that lead straight into the kitchen and almost dropping the bag when i saw who was stood in the kitchen.
It was none other than Sam Uley, a shirtless Sam Uley can i just point out, who was leaning against the side with a glass of water as he talked to dad. It was so surreal because i knew they would have been having a perfectly normal conversation before i arrived because for some reason dad and the other council members completely understood what Sam did to Leah and they all treated him like he was some kind of saviour. And that had made me question what kind of work he was actually doing for the council but i knew better than to try and question them about it, after all they were very secretive about some things.
But what happened next made me confused and, annoyingly, a little bit happy. Sam smiled as he saw me and then took the bag of food from me and placed it on the side saying that i should be careful since it was a heavy bag. Now most of me was confused, but a small part, a part that i was getting annoyed with a lot recently, was glad that he was worried about me. And i'll be honest, he was hot since he came back and seeing him shirtless made me a bit hot and i wanted to stop that not only because of Leah but because my father was also in the room with us but he was smiling. Crazy old man.
Sam then declared that he was going back out front to finish the ramp whilst i took of my coat and bag and turned to look at my dad who was still smiling and i couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him. He knew something and i wanted to know what.
"Why did you ask Sam?! Dad!" I groaned as i sat down and laid my head on the table trying to figure out why i was so glad to see him again. I damn well shouldn't be! He broke Le's heart for crying out loud!
Dad shrugged his shoulders when i looked back at him. "You wanted it done and he didn't have anything else to do so it made sense. Come on, i know he hurt Leah but he's still a good guy and you know it." He told me in an almost stern voice and i nodded. "Now why don't you make him a cup of coffee, looks like he could use one." He told me before wheeling off to who knows where leaving me sat there alone.
I decided i could at least be a decent person and make him a cup of coffee and that's when i came up with the idea that he might have been helping so that he could show people that he wasn't a bad person just because of what he did to Leah. But i hoped he wasn't doing it in some kind of attempt to win Leah back because i was sure we had already established that she deserved better than him the other night.
When i went onto the front porch to give him his coffee he was kneeling down near the top of the ramp doing whatever and i couldn't help but stare appreciatively at his well muscled back. I allowed myself a few seconds to greedily stare at him before i decided that any more would be betraying my best friend and that wasn't happening.
"Hey," I called softly and he turned around, still kneeling, to face me with a smile on his face. "I thought you could use some coffee, dad said you were looking a little tired." I told him as i walked over to him and handed him the cup and i got a little flustered when his fingers brushed mine but i forced myself to act normally.
He took a sip before smiling back up at me. "It's good, thanks." I couldn't help but smile back at that and before i could stop myself i felt myself talking again.
"Well i hope to see good work here Uley, because if i fall through the ramp then i'm not afraid to sue." I told him with a fake stern look that caused him to chuckle and for a moment it felt like nothing had ever gone wrong except i was really enjoying listening to him laugh.
He then looked into my eyes and i got the same feeling of love and longing that i had the other night. "Don't worry, i'll make sure you'll have my best." He grinned and i nodded with a smile before rushing back into the house.
Once away from him i suddenly felt guilty about what had happened and knew i had to distract myself. But instead of calling Leah or Emily and feeling even more guilt i decided to go and do my college work for the day so it'd be done early. But i couldn't help but glance out the living room window every once in a while and seeing a shirtless Sam and i smiled a bit and looked away before i could be caught staring.
