THEME.

(1) God renews is covenant with Abram .and we see how Abram humbly bows to God.

(2) ABRAM and Sarai names are changed. according to the change in they life's.

(3) Abraham is promised spiritual (christians because of his faith.) and earthly (Israel) descendant's.

(4) God gives Abraham and his coming descendants a token of they faith to him.

( meaning they accept his covenants by keep ing this rule of) to be cicumised.

(5) Abraham's is promised a son .(but because of his doubt and laughing to himself because he and Sarah were old.) God tells him to name they to be born son Isaac .meaning laughter.

(6) Abraham asks God to bless Ishmael. God promises to make Ishmael a father of many nations and to give him twelve princes princes in his descendants.

But God also makes it clear that his covenant is with Issac and not with Ishmael.

(7) Abraham and his whole household is circumcised.

Abraham was 99years old and Ishmael was 13 years old.

1- THE COVENANT IS RENEWED.

Verse 1

Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,"I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.

2 - ABRAM 'S NAME IS CHANGED.

Verse 5

"No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

Verse 9

God said further to Abraham, "Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

4 - ISAAC WITH A NUMEROUS ISSUE IS PROMISED.

Verse16

I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."

In the very same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

Verse 27

All the men of his household, who were born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
