Hi guys sorrrry it took so long to finally update this. I've been really busy & i had a hard time with this chapter because I wasnt sure where I wanted it to go.
its not my favorite chapter, but i hope you like it :)

**Adrian’s POV**
“Adrian relax!” Chase said as I paced back and forth in the living room.
“I can’t Chase! Did you see this?” I yelled with panic as I held the newspaper article up to his face.
“I did, but we don’t even know what it means…” he said.
“It means that someone’s trying to ruin my life…and digging up my past.” I said as I looked down at the paper in my hands, trying to ignore the guilty feeling consuming me as I read each word. Each word that killed me to look at…
Bringing up memories that I thought would stay buried forever…but I was wrong.
‘Beacon Grove California serial arsonist…’ I read.
“Listen just breathe okay?” he said but it was impossible.
Everything fell apart when I opened my locker this morning and the article flew out into my hands. It was like it totally broke me as I read each word. Then when Kylie came up behind me I totally lost it…I didn’t even realize what I was doing…
“Michaels on his way home, we’ll handle this…there’s no way this person can be targeting you. There was a lot more people involved in those fires Adrian…” He said but I just shook my head knowing that I was to blame.
“Victor sent you and 3 other men on a wild goose chase setting fires for revenge…its not your fault.” He said but I just looked up at him puzzled.
“How did you know it was for revenge?” I asked. Since I was around 16 at the time Victor just made me do things, never told me what they were for or why…
“Victor had me find all the targets, told me a lot of people in that town deserved to die…for stealing from him, even though it didn’t make sense I didn’t question it…I couldn’t.”
“Adrian plus you and I both know that there were a lot more to it, not just in that city…he sent men all over.” He said and I nodded.
“I’m scared for Kylie…” I said as I sat down.
“Don’t…I promise you she’ll be okay, I’ll make sure of that.” He said and I nodded.
I knew my brother thought that this wasn’t supposed to be personal, like it was blackmail or something. But I couldn’t help but think that this person was out to ruin me…to hurt me. It didn’t make sense for this anonymous person to stalk me for so long if he was trying to get something for himself…
But again I wasn’t afraid for myself…I was worried about Kylie.
“Where are you going?” Chase asked as I grabbed my jacket.
“I got to talk to Kevin…” I said.
“Adrian he’s on vacation in the Bahamas, he’ll be back Monday…” he said as I let out a deep breath.
“I just need to go and get away for a while I’ll be back tonight…” I said before I shut the door.
My nerves were getting to me, and I just needed some time….

**Kylies POV**
As I walked around serving people my thoughts kept going back to Adrian, and how weird he acted earlier. After this morning he left school without telling me or anyone else.
I kept texting him and his brothers but they weren’t answering, and I was getting scared.
“Hello Miss…” I heard someone say bringing me back to reality.
“Uhm yes?”
“I ordered the steak.” She said handing me back the plate of cheeseburger and fries.
“Oh I’m sorry.” I said as I turned around to the other table.
“Sorry for the mix up.” I said as I took the steak and put down the cheeseburger and gave it to the other lady.
I guess I wasn’t really thinking straight today, how could I? There was something wrong with my boyfriend and I have no clue what it is…
We came so far in the past year, gotten so close. But now It feels like we’re taking 12 steps backwards. He’s hiding things from me…
I tried to gather my thoughts and concentrate on work; it was the only way I was going to get through the rest of my shift.
Finally it was 8 and my shift was almost over, and things were starting to slow down.
“Kylie you want to talk?” I heard Hunter ask as I let out a deep breath.
“There’s nothing really to talk about…something’s going on with Adrian and he wont talk to be about it.” I said.
“Well then you should talk to him about it…clearly there’s a lack of communication.” He said.
“Yeah I know…”
“Listen you guys really care about each other, and I could tell that you and him have a strong relationship and you guys can make it through anything.” He said with sadness and another unknown emotion clear in his eyes.
“What made you such an relationship expert?” I asked.
“Well I’ve been where you are.” He said.
“What’s her name?” I asked.
“Her name was Chloe.” He said as he let out a deep breath.
“She was best friends with my brother, they were the 2 most important people in my life. I’d do anything for them…” he said and I could already tell this was going to be a sad story.
“Lets just say he got himself into a bad place, and took her down with him…” he said and I looked at him puzzled.
“They both died…” he said and my heart almost stopped.
“So appreciate what you have, and if its real…do whatever you possibly can do to keep it. Because you’ll never know if and when it’ll all come crumbling down…” he said with empty eyes that frightened me as he spoke.
“I’m sorry for your loss…”I said and he nodded.
“You should get going.” He said impassively and I nodded.
The whole ride home something about the way he spoke stood out in my head. It just didn’t feel right.

As soon as I got home I couldn’t help but go straight to Adrian’s door and knock as loud as I could. This whole day I couldn’t stop worrying about Adrian and I needed to know why he was acting the way he was…
“Hold on…oh Kylie…” Michael said when he opened the door and saw me standing there.
“Where’s your brother?” I asked strongly as he looked at me nervously.
“Uhm….Chase…” he called loudly.
“What…oh…” Chase said as he saw me as they both stood in the doorway as I stood out on the porch.
“Hi Kylie…” Chase said with a nervous smile.
“Uhm come on in…” Chase said and I did as I looked at him and Michael suspiciously.
“I’m going to go upstairs…” Mike said nervously as I sat on the couch besides Chase.
“What’s going on with Adrian?” I asked as I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
“I have no idea what you're talking about…” he said but I just looked at him with a raised eyebrow and he let out a sigh.
“Just don’t worry about him…” he said.
“Seriously Chase? Where is he anyway? And don’t tell me he’s at work cause I know they close early today…” I said.
“I don’t know what to tell you Ky, he’s just really stressed out lately and he needed a break…” he said.
“But why wouldn’t he talk to me about this?” I asked.
“Its complicated…if I could tell you I would…” Chase said and I could tell he was being genuine. As much as I wanted to know what was going on with Adrian I wasn’t going to push the issue.
“I know…but it just sucks. I feel like we’re right back to where we started…with the secrets and the lies…” I said as I let out a sigh.
“It’s not like that Ky and you know that…” he said.
“Well I’m not so sure anymore.” I said.
“Listen just focus on yourself…I’m really proud of you and all of the progress you’ve been making.” He said with a small smile.
“Aw thanks, but it’s only been a week…” I said.
“I know…but I’m proud that’s why we’re doing extra training tomorrow, to get your mind off of all of this.” He said.
“Oh lucky me…” I said sarcastically.
“Meet me outside at 5:30 a.m.” he said and I nodded.
At least Chase was right about something working out would take my mind off of Adrian and all this stress.

“You look beat…” Luke said when I came inside.
“Thanks, you always know how to cheer me up.” I said sarcastically.
“But I do…” Luke said as I looked at him puzzled.
“I taped all your sappy romance movies and bought you your favorite pizza.” He said and I couldn’t help but smile at Luke.
“How did you know my day sucked?”
“It’s a best friend sense….” Luke said and I nodded.
“Just what I needed….” I said as I hugged him tightly.
Maybe Luke wasn’t so bad after all…
**Adrian’s POV**
Last night was pretty rough; to be honest I barely remembered it.
All I remember is being so stressed out and panicky that I needed to leave. I needed to get away from it all…and I did.
For once I felt like the old me, and I wasn’t sure if I felt good or bad about that.
I didn’t have any worries or thoughts when I was drinking it all away and it was amazing… but now at 5 in the morning as I walked to the door I couldn’t help but feel guilty…
I ran away from my problems, I ran away from Kylie…and that made me sick.
Just as I was walking through my front gate I heard the rustling of trees and branches from up above and that’s when I looked up and I saw Kylie climbing down the tree.
Before I knew what I was doing I hid on the side of my house in the shadows and that’s when I saw Chase coming through the front door.
“So are you feeling any better?” He asked her.
“Not really…” she said.
“What time did he come home?” she asked and Chase looked down nervously.
“So he didn’t…” she said and I could feel my chest consume with guilt as I watched the sadness take over her face.
“Listen this is exactly what you need to get your mind off of everything…” Chase said as he put his arm around Kylies shoulder and walked towards his car.
“You're right…” she said to him just before they got into the car.
After I heard the car drive away I stood there up against the side of the house thinking about what I just saw.
I wasn’t sure what to think of it, to be honest I was afraid…what could Chase and Kylie be doing up this early. Where could they be going?
Was this what she was hiding from me all week?
I couldn’t help but feel angry as I thought about all of the possibilities.
She’s so upset that I didn’t come home meanwhile she’s sneaking around with Chase doing who knows what…
I was going to do whatever I could to find out what was going on…
Its like everyday that passes my life is falling apart piece by piece…and I can’t imagine Kylie being one of those pieces. I thought she would be the only one that would stay by my side, hold it all together…but maybe I'm wrong…

hey guyss:) this chapter isnt my favorite & it might be confusing right now becauseee youre missing a lot of infoo that you will get in future chapters so be patient.
What do you think about Hunters past? Do you think Kylies going to confront Adrian about acting weird? is he going to confront her about what he saw? Is kylie & Luke going to get closer? TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK:D
