Okay so this is how Clover 'found' Rose (It's before Becca/Poppy, Summer and Louise/Heather so the girls that are in the cellar now are 'old ones')

Finding Rose

Clover's POV

I sat around the unbalanced table with Heather, Poppy and Lily. There should be four flowers sitting with me. Rose was missing.

“Is everything okay, Clover?” Lily asked, love and concern shining in her eyes. Lily was beautiful and had been with me for just over a year now, she was the one that took care of the other’s and guided them. I couldn’t ask any more of her.

“Everything’s fine,” I replied, smiling through my unease. I ate silently, listening to their conversations and occasionally joining in when necessary. I couldn’t relax, not until I had all my girls here.

When everyone had finished their meal I excused myself and made my way to my room to get changed for tonight. I was going to see her again tonight, my Kayley. The girl that occupied my every thought. The girl that I wanted to wake up with every morning, the one that I would share everything with.

I dressed in smart black trousers, a grey jumper and slipped on my long black coat. After styling my hair and washing my hands I pulled on my gloves and went out to my car.

I parked in the supermarket car park and made the short walk to the hostel where she was staying. I hated that she was there but she had yet to agree to move into my house. She was sitting alone in the field behind the hostel as usual, her long brunette hair blowing lightly in the wind.

Taking a deep breath, I made my way over to her, “Hello again, Kayley.”

She smiled warmly, her cheeks flushing light pink, and patted the ground beside her, “Hello Clover.” I sat down beside her, ignoring the uneasy feeling in my stomach that I was sitting on the dirty ground. The germs would be running over every inch of my body by now. I shuddered, feeling sick to my stomach but just about managing to control myself in front of her.

“How was your day then?”

“The same,” she said sadly, shrugging her shoulders. “I’m glad you’re here.” She admitted, blushing lightly again. I took her hand and squeezed it reassuringly; she didn’t need to be shy around me.

“Me too.” I had been coming to see her for the past two weeks and leaving her at the end of the evening was becoming harder with each day.

Everything was different with Kayley, she was the one. Part of me did feel guilty for feeling more for her than the other girls but I couldn’t help it, there was just something about her. She was perfect, everything a woman should be. I wanted her to live with me, to be my wife. She reminded me a lot of my mother.

“How was work?” she asked, sounding genuinely interested. That was what I loved the most about her. She cared about people even though others have treated her badly. Her family had turned their back on her but she was still very motherly and caring. When she was finally mine I would see that no one ever took advantage or hurt her again.

“It was good thank you, although a long day.” She nodded, playing with a blade of grass. I closed my eyes and took a calming breath, she had no idea how dirty that was, anything could be on that grass. “What have you been doing today?”

“I read a little and then came out here.” The same as every other day.

“And how was everyone else in the hostel?” I frowned as I thought about the incident two nights ago. Some vile whore had hit her while trying to steal what little money she had left, leaving behind a faint red mark on her left cheek.

She shrugged, looking down at the floor. “They were fine.”

“Don’t lie to me,” I snapped, instantly regretting it as she flinched and jumped up.

“I should go now,” she whispered, her voice shaking.

I rose to my feet quickly, panicking that she was going to walk off and leave me. “No Kayley. I’m sorry I snapped like that, I just don’t like the idea of them taking advantage and treating you badly.” I took her hand and squeezed it gently, being careful not to hurt her tiny frame. She was too thin, no one was looking after her, but soon I would be. “Forgive me, please?”

She smiled and nodded, “Yeah, I forgive you.” I wanted to correct her; yes not yeah but that could wait until I got her home.

We started walking along the footpath. Every time I came to see her we would meet in the field and then go for a walk, and every time I would offer her a room at my place but she always turned me down. She was too independent, that would change soon though, she’ll eventually realise that she needs me to look after her.

I lead her around the lake, our usual route, taking her hand in mine. “It’s beautiful tonight,” she whispered almost to herself, looking up at the dark blue starry sky.

“Yes it is.” I agreed.

“My dad used to take my outside in the evenings and we’d watch the stars appear in the sky...” She looked down at the floor, her eyes filling with tears. She never went into detail about her family, just telling me that they’d fallen out.

“What happened? How did you end up here?”

“Please,” she said softly, “I don’t want to talk about it.” I nodded, pushing away the anger that was rising inside me that she wouldn’t answer my questions. My girls answered my questions, always.

“Have you thought any more about coming to live at my house?” I asked hopefully.

“I appreciate it Clover but I can’t do that.”

I sighed in frustration. What is it going to take to get her to be mine? I had spent most of the weekend redecorating my bedroom for her. I wanted it to be fresh and new for us both. She had no idea what she was doing to me, how I felt about her. I was getting desperate, it had been two weeks already and I didn’t know how much longer I could wait to officially make her mine.

“Would you like to get a late dinner somewhere?” I asked, frowning at her tiny fragile wrist. She bit her lip as she considered my offer. “Please? It’ll be my treat.”

She smiled and nodded, “Okay. That would be nice, thank you.”

I took her to a little Indian restaurant that my parents used to go to when I was little. She scanned the menu for a while before finally deciding to get the same as me. That just enhanced the feeling of her being the one, we had the same tastes.

We talked easily over dinner, the conversation flowed and there were no awkward silences. I loved everything about her, the sound of her laugh, the way her eyes would shine when she smiled, the light freckles on her nose, but mostly the way she looked at me.

By the time we had finished eating I knew there was no way I could let her go back to that hostel.

I held the car door open for her, suddenly feeling a little nervous. How was she going to react to me taking her home? She would be okay after I had explained why I was doing it, and that I just wanted to look after her but I really didn’t want her to be angry with me, not even for a second.

To get to the hostel you had to drive past my house so I knew I could get her home before she started questioning anything. I pulled into my driveway and turned the ignition off. “What are we doing here?” she asked, covering her mouth with her hand as she yawned. The fact that she didn’t seem scared or worried that we’d stopped here made fall further in love with her.

I turned to face her, smiling, “This is my house. I just need to use the bathroom before I take you back. Come in for a minute.” She nodded and followed behind me as I unlocked the front door, obviously trusting me as she didn’t hesitate.

I showed her into the lounge and sat down beside her. “Don’t you need the bathroom?” she asked, shaking her head in confusion.

“Kayley, I don’t need to use the bathroom. I’ve brought you home,” I said simply.

She gasped and jumped up, I caught her hand as she started to escape. “No, get off,” she screamed, frantically trying to pull her hand out of my grip.

“Calm down,” I ordered.

“Let me go,” she yelled, thrashing around and pounding her free fist down on my chest. I grabbed her other hand and slammed her against the wall. All I could hear was my pulse smashing in my ears, Kayley’s piercing screams seemed like background music now.

Kill her.

“Please, please.” Her begging brought me back. I didn’t like begging. She didn’t like begging.

Kill her, do it now!

Kayley’s eyes bulged when I held both of her hands in one of mine and pinned my other hand over her mouth. I was fighting myself for control. I wanted to kill her, the knife was in my pocket but I loved her, maybe too much.

Kill her now, Colin.

She was whimpering against my palm as I held her still against the wall. I closed my eyes and concentrated on steadying my ragged breaths. My hands were shaking around her wrists and mouth. Her muffled cries were not helping me calm down but I couldn’t tell her to stop.

Slowly I cracked my eyes open, it wasn’t until I saw her that I realised she’d stopped making a noise. She was just staring at me in shock and fear, her tears had dried up but her eyes were puffy and bloodshot.

“Everything’s going to be okay,” I whispered. “I need you to trust me. I just want to look after you, you’re home now.”

I lowered my hand and stroked the side of her face, looking into her eyes. “I believe you’ll look after me, Clover, but I can’t stay here with you.” My face fell. Did she not hear what I told her. She was home, this is where she belongs. “Sorry but I have to go now.” She took one step away from me. That was all it took for me to make the decision.

Before she could get out of the room I grabbed her from behind, clamping my hand over her mouth again and pushing her along. Again she tried to resist and scream but I easily overpowered her. She would thank me for this soon, I know she would.

I opened the door to their room and pushed her inside. When we got to the bottom of the stairs I let her go. She immediately jumped away from me and pressed her body against the wall, her jaw dropping open and her eyes widening as she took in her surroundings.

I didn’t want this to happen but I had no other choice. I couldn’t let her go. I couldn’t lose her.

Poppy, Heather and Lily rose from the sofa, the movement startled Kayley who hadn’t seen them. She screamed, her legs gave way and she slumped to the ground.

“Explain everything to her, Lily,” I ordered, walking back up, leaving Kayley shaking and crying at the bottom of the stairs. I closed the door, locking it before sliding down the wall and holding my head in my hands.

This wasn’t what I intended, but Kayley was now Rose.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep so she was only Rose by accident! Hope this explains a little why Rose was his favourite and why she couldn't live without him, she had feelings for him BEFORE he kidnapped her.

I'm SLOWLY editing the story ready for the watty awards. I've added some stuff so the story will be longer and it will flow better (hopefully) but I'm only on like chapter 6 *sigh* I HATE editing!!

The sequel is on my page (You'll Always Be Mine)

Anyway I hope you liked it? Comment, vote, like and tweet if you did?

Thanks for reading <3
